Allure's Beauty Trends: Part 2

Good grief....it's taking me 10 years to finish up on these Beauty Trends, eh? Well, we're almost done....coming in at #6 is:

Black eyeliner

Use a minimally for clear eye definition or heavy for delivery imperfect result.

Wait? Did they say an “imperfect” look!! That’s right up my alley! Now a ton of black eyeliner really isn’t my style. It tends to make my eyes a lot smaller than they are. But this was a lot of fun. Great for goin’ out and partyin’ with the girls. Addin’ some glittery silver stuffs would really make things interesting. I used:

MAC’s Engraved (or Feline for a richer Black) Eye pencil.
Carbon…I swiped this over the eye pencil to make it look more dramatic.
L’Oreal’s Carbon Black Voluminous Mascara---the blackest around, baby!

So I know I look a bit emo, but I have to admit…..I kinda like it. It’s dark, which isn’t me, but it’s okay to switch it up every now and then.

#5 would be....

Messy updo’s

Loosen up the texture and give the hair a more wispy toss (instead of uptight looks). It doesn’t take a lot of work and uses the imperfections that people have to use it as an advantage. No techniques necessary. TO achieve soft texture use moose on wet hair to give hair volume. And let hair dry before sweeping it up. Gives hair volume and texture.

Now I’m going to make the assumption that this beauty trend is not really us short haired folx. And especially not for people who rock afros. Which sucks for me but don’t let me be a Debby Downer. Check out these fab ladies who are rockin’ the updo.

Now that last one is a bit crazy but….I actually REALLY like it. What do you think?

I am loving the new face of clumps of mascara. I gotta try the Loreal Voluminous Mascara. Yummy 411 was also raving about it! The black eyeliner looks so sexy on you. Have you tried the pot paint blitz and glitz?

Love the new layout! The black liner/shadow looks good on you. Whenever I try it, it ends up everywhere! Any tips on how to keep it in place and not smudge?
