DiorShow Blackout Review

Hi lovely folx! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I don't have many friends that are Mommys yet but I did drive 302 hours to see my Mommy. We had a beautiful time! Mothers are truly blessings, right? Welllll.....it's time for another edition of Mascara Monday.

Yesss, Mascara Monday is where we review a new mascara in attempts to find THE BEST MASCARA EVER!

I am finally reviewing the HG of all mascaras! I was sooo excited when I purchased this. My debit card was was stingin' from the swipe of $24 plus some tax but I was just bubbling from excitement. Did this "raved about by tons of beauty people everywhere" mascara impress me? You ready to find out?

Christian Dior: Diorshow Blackout

Price: 1 out of 5
Packaging (Brush Wand): 2 out of 5
Overall:
2 out of 5

What it claims: "Creates the longest, thickest, curviest lashes ever, resulting in an ultra-glam "just-off-the-catwalk" look."

The truth: The brush isn't the best brush ever and it is far too clumpy to be effective.

What I loved about it: My lashes were thicker but by the third coat, they were too clumpy.

What I didn't like: It didn't give me any volume. I would have liked a little.

Overall: I hate to admit it, but I'm disappointed. I didn't get any WoW factor from this mascara. Not in the least. Which is really sad because $24 is entirely too much (I think) to spend on a mascara. I even tried layering it on top of my favorite mascara. Nope, still nothing. No dramatic lashes. The brush wasn't all that special . And after using it for a few days, I noticed the consistency of the mascara getting a little "glooby". Yuck, definitely not digging that. Booo....this happens sometimes in the beauty world. What some of us love, others of us loathe. Remember the pink & green Great Lash mascara? I adore it whereas I know a ton of ladies that can't get down with it. I'm on the nay side of Diorshow right now. It's taking up space in my mascara department but since it cost me some gas money, it's going to have to sit there for awhile and look pretty because it certainly won't be getting used.

What do you think about this mascara? Have you tried it and liked it? Or

blasphemy! nah, just kidding. yes,if you aren't satisfied, i would definitely take it right back... i see cash money when looking at my collection, so if something can be in my pocket instead of laying around... then there ya go! a return!

i hope the hype around it didn't build your expectations too high that the mascara couldn't satisfy. to be fair, i used dior show (not black out, not sure if there is a difference) after sampling a fair amount of other counter brand mascaras and it passed the test, or at least was better than the others. only then did i head to the drugstore to find my HG loreal voluminous, which was comparable to the dior show.

sorry it didn't work out as well for you...look forward to you finding your hg mascara or at least how other mascaras hold up to the Great Lash!

I hear you, DiorShow does nothing for me, same as BeneFit's Bad Gal. I am not sure why people love it so much ...

I've never tried it, but from the price tag and your review, I probably won't be! LOL!

I've also tried it and wasn't impressed. I boomeranged it back to Sephora.

My friends swear by Dior Show, I'll have to give it a try, although I am sad to hear that it didn't work for you.

It goes to show paying more for something doesn't mean it's better. Now you loved the Maybelline XXL curl power mascara and I know you didn't pay alot of money for it.

Just like the others said take it back.

My friend had the same issue with Diorshow. She said it clumped to much for her liking. I can't stand a clumpy mascara so I probably won't be getting it.

I have a love hate relationship with the pink & green Great Lash mascara. I love how it makes my lashes look but is the messiest mascara I have ever used. Taking it off was a nightmare for me.

I love that you are doing this but I am sticking to my guns that drugstore mascara is the best mascara. It could very well be that I have natural drag queen lashes but I prefer the under $10 over the counter mascara.

take it back sweetie. i have diorshow and i love it, but my lashes are long and can handle just about any mascara and look good
