Brown and Blushin’ Series: Mineral Concepts Blush

Brown & Blushin’ time! And for this post, I just had to highlight not only a brand of make-up that I’m using but a different kind of blush.

ta daaaa….mineral blush!

First of all, mad love to Carol Jenne over at Mineral Concepts who is supportin’ a girl’s venture into not only mineral make-up but blushes too. After hearing wonderful things about this company, I just had to give it a whirl.

So check out Rosy Raisin.

The velvety smooth texture is to die for. And then when you come back to life, you will be in awe of the amazing color payoff which….uh, lasts all day on my primer-less and foundation-less skin in humid Central Florida.

Here’s a swatch..

And check it out on the cheek.

And I didn’t stop there with just the blush. I also dapped some of the color on my eyes…

I added some Black matte eyeshadow (MAC’s Carbon) to smoke it out a bit.

And theeeen I put on some clear lip gloss and put some color on the lippies too!

Ehhh, a little too dark for my liking but I think it’s amazing that I did a full face of make-up with only 4 products:

-Mineral Concepts Rosy Raisin blush
-MAC Carbon e/s
-NYC clear gloss
-Maybelline Black eyeliner

I’m happy about it and can’t wait to showcase some more mineral blushes for yall. Anyone else dapple in mineral blushes? Shoot me some of your favorites and recs!

For this posts’ Brown & Blushin’ beauty we have my girl Ari over at Fashion Devotee rockin’ MAC’s Full Fuchsia blush.

Hot pink blush is beautiful on for an after dark glam look. My sister is rockin’ it! Keep sendin’ me your submissions to Brittany@ClumpsOfMascara.com. Stay beautiful!

Actually, what first came to my mind when I saw your photos was “Wow, Brit has managed to find yet another fab lip color!” So yeah, I love it and don’t think it’s dark at all. :)

Don’t you just love when a product is so versatile? I know I do. :)

    Great post!

  • SuzieC

Love the face! I just got into mineral blush. It’s by Valana Minerals and called Cheeky Orchid. It’s very similar in color to Rosy Raisin. I may just do a look with it tomorrow…

  • Divine Blackness

Yesss, glad to see I’m not the only one into mineral blushes.

Suzie C, I would looove to see your FOTD.

I’ve been reading and loving your blog for awhile now and have enjoyed the Brown ‘n Blushin’ series. I think this is the most beautiful blush you’ve featured. You have such a glow!

Do you think this might work for someone with very fair skin tones? I’ve never seen a blush as gorgeous as this!

  • Divine Blackness

Taryn: Your little picture thingie over there has seriously made my day. LOL, too cute. Thanks for supportin’ Clumps and I’m so glad to hear the overwhelming love for the Brown & Blushin’ series! I most definitely think you can rock this color. My Mother is a very fair Black woman who looks beautiful in blushes similar to this color. Maybe I should get her to do a FOTD, uh? That woman would probably make me pay her. Ha!

Anyway, if you really are in love with this color, please check out http://www.mineralconcepts.com and cop a few samples to experiment with. I think you’ll like it! You can always tone down a color with a little bronzer too.

…opps, I’ve said too much. That’s an upcoming blog post. Hope I’ve helped!

I LOVE YOUR BLUSH IT LOOKS AMAZING ON YOU!Your models blush I dont like people with acne and oily skin should stay away from shimmer and the colorful eyes and lips and cheeks are a bit too much

  • Taryn

Hee hee – that’s Mr. Slate. I always change up my user icon!

I’m actually a fair-skinned white person (similar to Nicole Kidman’s coloring), so maybe this wouldn’t work for me. Maybe I’ll try a few samples and see what it’s like.

    Keep up the good blogging!

  • FashionDevotee/FierceBlackness

Thanks Bri Bri for featuring me yaay! Thanks everyone for the compliments!

  • Fashion’s Darling

wow I love the versatlity of blush…this color is cool. I’m a fan of [slightly] dark lips…only those that make me look like I’ve been drinking red wine…not the vampira look lol

I LIVE by Lorac’s blush in Crimson. The color is AMAZING! on dark skin

  • Grayburn

That blush gives you this surreal glow…lovely! Oooh, can’t wait to see what you’ll say about Imju and define a lash :)

    x Grayburn

  • Divine Blackness

Taryn…girlfriend, try it. I think this color will rock on any type of skintone!

FD–> LOL, the vampire look. Yeah, that’s a tad bit TOO much for me. I’ve never been a fan of darker lipsticks, but you know what? I may start embracing it a little more. Nothing can beat my Sci Fi Delity, though!

Grayburn–> I will definitely keep you up on what’s goin’ on with those mascaras. Muah!

Anon–> You think it’s too much? Really….I think it’s okay for a look after dark. Definitely not for work or loafing around the house; which was what I was doing when I did that look. :)

  • liznewark

i love mineral blushes since I only use mineral makeup, but my cheeks are always dry and I never get it to look the way I want, with the exception of Bare Escentuals’ tulip. That was gawgeous!! U should try it and also try Milan Minerals pretty in pink, it looks hot pink in the bag, but it’s super gawgeous on us black women!! Oh yeah, did u use ur finger or a brush to apply this blush?????

  • Stefanie

I am loving the hot pink blush submission. She is gorgeous as well, so I’m sure that helps!
