Mascara Monday: Sephora Lash Plumper

Grrr, yessss….yall know how I feel about Mondays. I’m hopin’ that my girl Kia from Yummy411 had a wonderful birthday on Saturday!!!! The only joy I get from Mondays is sharing a new mascara review with you wonderful people. Yall know I can’t keep up with reviewing a great deal of beauty products but one thing I don’t mind reviewing is mascaraaaaa. Especially the ones that say they can work magic. So how did Sephora’s Lash Plumper do?

Sephora’s Lash Plumper

Price: 1 out of 5 ($16….dang!)
Packaging (Brush Wand): 1 out of 5
1 out of 5

What it claims:Fatten your flutter with this lash-plumping formula. The larger brush, with slightly tapered edges, reaches from root to tip, for truly bat-worthy volume and glamour.”

The truth: This is a joke, right?

What I loved about it: The fact that I received it in sample size for free.

What I didn’t like: The product.

Overall: Boo and double boo. What just happened? ….absolutely NOTHING and that was the problem with this mascara. As a volumizing mascara, I expected clump-less coated lashes. I, in return, got….nothing. Not happy with that. Boo again.

What do you think about this mascara? Have you tried it and liked it? Better yet….tell me the WORST mascara that you’ve ever used. If you’ve sent me an email requesting a particular mascara to review, I haven’t forgotten about you. I have a looong list. Keep sendin’ me reviews at

Stay beautiful!

I know you’re glad you didn’t blow $16 on it.

  • Brown Girl Gumbo

I’ve never tried it, but now I definitely won’t be trying it!!

Thanks for the honest review. :-)

I have it also, but I don’t recall using it much. I have to test it out again to refresh my memory.
I know I have been burned by the sephora brand eye liner, that was such a JOKE. I looked like a literal clown.
    Thanks for your review.

wow! LOL I’ve never tried the mascara, but do you sometimes feel you get cheated with samples sizes? i tried a prescriptives mascara once, but was convinced that I didn’t get the real deal since it was sample size…. like what happens when you test a mascara with a disposable spoolie….. =/

Thanks for the tip! And thank goodness it came in a sample size and you didn’t have to pay for that crap.

I’m glad you’re on Twitter!! YAY for that :) I’m sorry this mascara didn’t work out so well.

    Have a great week!!

This mascara doesn’t even look appealing! I just reviewed a Mascara that I liked.

  • Grayburn

Yeah, samples are such a hit or miss sometimes…

The wand alone would keep me away. It reminds me of the branches on my mom’s fake Christmas tree.

  • Fashion’s Darling

GIRL!! I love your blog (as if you didn’t know). Thank you for the HONEST review. The brush looks unappealing.

Umm, this mascara might be for everyone, so maybe that’s why you thought it sucked. When I first started using it, it’d come down on my face as little flakes. It really didn’t do anything to improve my lashes. Now, after a few weeks, I use it and it works as promised. Not only does it lengthen, but it volumizes too! One of the best mascaras ever!

  • BeautyMaven

i am so glad you tested this one because i have been curious but now i will look away! worst mascara EVER has to be hands down the new revlon double twist.. a horrible clumpy mess ugh i HATED it sooo much that i went around my sorority house and told people to NOT buy it. gross.

How Strange! I didn't completely HATE this mascara because it doesn't clump that much for me or maybe its because since i also had the sample i took it to school since it was small but Yeah, thanks for the review!

  • I hate this mascara, lol. it did absolutely nothing to my lashes.

  • Kissy

I got that as a gift for my birthday from sephora, and I loved it…. I find I love it even more when I combine it with Dior DiorShow or Dior DiorShow Blackout. It separate my lashes and plumped them. I especially loved the brush for my lashes, I get compliments on my lashes all the time since I started using it this year.

I don’t know why it’s one of the WORST mascaras ever. I got it as a sample as well, and it worked great.

Hopefully it’s a typo, but one of the commenters said she didn’t like the mascara because it DIDN’T clump. That is correct, the mascara doesn’t clump; but isn’t that desirable? I don’t want to look like a tarantula.

One of the things I liked most was the brush. It was really dense, so it separated each of my lashes wonderfully without a lash comb.

I actually like this mascara. I got a sample size for my birthday and I thought it wonderfully did not clump my eyelashes and did really lengthen and volumize. My eyelashes looked naturally longer and flirty. It isn’t SUPER volumizing or anything but it’s very natural, but not in the sense that you can’t tell you have mascara on. For a little more natural oomph, I really like this mascara. I think it works well, but I dunno if I would pay 16 for it but I would like it if I was just doing it as a simple eyeliner mascara natural look.

I love this mascara. I got it free too. I use it with Cils booster and its like I have on false lashes.
