Mascara Monday: Clinique High Definition Lashes

Happy Monday, family!!

I had a fab weekend and I'm hopin' you did as well. Thanks to my Twitter fam for keepin' me laughing during that "experience" that I had on Saturday night. LOL! By reader request, I am also going to be adding a new series on nail polish and nail care....you knew it was coming, right? I love expanding Clumps of Mascara to ALL areas of beauty and beyond. Stay tuned for that. In the mean time...check out what I think about this mascara here. Did it give me high definition lashes or deliver low performance?

What it claims: "Now brush, comb. Create. Brush-side coats with dramatic, long-wearing colour. Comb-side separates to perfection. Transforms each and every lash with extreme length and definition."

The truth: Probably one of the coolest brushes ever!

What I loved about it: I am in love with this wand. The 1 step: brush, 2 step: comb is ingenious and guarantees pretty decent lashes. Check it:




What I didn't like: Don't even TRY getting the corner lashes with this baby here. It is virtually impossible as you will either poke your eye out or endure crazy streaky mascara residue on your lids. I also find that after one application each of each side is enough. If you try for a third coat, go ahead and get the "Welcome" mat out because you are now a resident of "Clump City".


Overall: I have to give credit to Clinique's mascaras. They are all SO different. Very rarely do you come across a cosmetic line that has mascaras with so many different functions. Mad love to you, Clinique! I loved this mascara simply because of the uniqueness of the brush. I would have liked to get the corner lashes but whatev. Here's how my lashes look without any mascara.

..one of the biggest problems I have with my lashes is how unruly they are. Why can't they all be uniform? Check out that one lash going STRAIGHT down. I mean, really....it's almost funny.

I would say that the definition is DEFINITELY there. Just look at the "no mascara" eye again. It's incredible. Is it the best? Nooo, I wouldn't say so but I am impressed and excited that the mascara lived up to its claim.




Would I recommend it: If you find that you have a difficult time getting your lashes "out there", I recommend this for you. This works well for me but I don't think I'd purchase it again because I'm not getting enough volume.

I have been on the hunt for this gray for soooo long. It is probably one of my favorite colors EVER now. Gray? I mean really...it's amazing. And it's a creme. The more I get into nail colors the more I realize how much I LOVE cremes. The finish is amazing. And as for Sheer Your Toys...let's just say I've been rockin' this color 3 days straight: which is a rarity for someone who polishes their nails almost ever day. I will debut this color solo soon.

China Glaze Shower Together

Another wonder from China Glaze's Ecollection. This is a beautiful blue creme. It is amazing! Loves it to death and wanted to "funk" it up by adding some black swiggly things to the tips. Definitely a weekend look.
