Let It Clump: The Crowned Chronicles-my hair blog

This series is where we stop talking about make-up to explore other areas of beauty and beyond. That’s anything! Hair, fashion, jacked up love lives..anything! Any suggestions? Let me know at Brittany@ClumpsOfMascara.com.

Since I’ve been blogging through good ole’ ClumpsOfMascara.com here, my hair has gone through some changes.

There was the ultra fro….

…but then I made the mistake of straightening it.

…and my hair never recovered so I had to cut it off.

….and then I decided to make the commitment to start growing locs.

It has almost been a month since I started my loc journey blog. To see what I’m up to, follow my journey there.

Digging the locs, super cute. I started going natural several months ago, but couldn’t take it so I got a relaxer…so wish I didn’t do that. Now I’m starting all over. It’s a drag, but I think it’s worth it.

    Hi B!

I like all four looks, but the last one seems like an especially wise choice to me. It’s stylish and hopefully low maintenace at the same time, and goes really well with your face.

I wonder though: are locks relatively hassle-free to maintain? I’m guessing taking care of afro hair is never an easy thing (I can sympathize though: mine’s a real pain in the a*ss too, and it’s not even curly…), but I’m sure it’s not damaging like the straightening, and it can still be worn in many different ways.
Aaaaand it’s just so pretty and shiny! ^_^

Anyway, thanks for dropping by at my place and for your lovely comment too. I cherish your friendship so much! *hug*

    xoxo

I have a ? why did straightening your hair damage your hair and what do you mean by it didnt recover

  • Neci Baby

Hey Brit! I had no idea that you went through the same thing with your hair not bouncing back after straightening. I had the same experience. Hopefully someone out there will heed these types of warnings and save themselves the trouble. Anywho, I’m glad to see that you’ve entered the wonderful world of locs!
