Sista Showoff: FaceDrama Cosmetics

Post by Glow Girl Tamar On 10:05 AM

Hello fellow clumpers, it's Tamar! I would like to welcome to another post from the Sista Show Off series! In this series we like to show some love to other companies, blogs, businesses or organizations. Let us feature you! Shoot me an email at tamarforclumps@gmail.com.

When I think about buying makeup I think about companies that I see everyday. Recently my eyes have been opened to a world of makeup companies that have women behind them that made big dreams come true for themselves! Today I'm featuring a woman that is making a name for herself in the beauty world.

Keka, CEOand Founder of FaceDrama Cosmetics

I got a chance to ask her a few questions so we can get the scoop on what she's all about....

1. What made you decide to start your own cosmetics company?

I started my own makeup company because as a make up artist, I invested money into other's businesses and the products weren't necessarily good. As makeup artists, we have tricks to make things work when products aren't what we thought they'd be and when minorities are involved, it becomes doubly difficult. I thought, "Why not create my own line?" I created my own line so that I'd be in control of what I produced and , most importantly, it would have enough pigment for darker skin!

2. What inspires you?

The strength and beauty of my ancestors, my mami, my sister, my daughter, and my niece inspire me.

3. Where do you see FaceDrama in 5 years?

In 5 years, Face Drama will be a viable force in the makeup industry. We will be recognized internationally for our great products, our service in the community, creative campaigns, and our representation of all women!

4. What is the best makeup tip you can give COM readers?

The best tip I can give your readers is- find what works for them. Makeup trends are great but a true icon creates her own trends and personal style. So if you look hot rocking a bold red lip, let that be your signature! Don't be afraid to be who YOU ARE.

5. What is the one product that you can't leave the house without?

You know I'm not leaving leaving my house without mascara and something pretty on my lips.

6. When and where can we purchase your products?

Nationally the products aren't available as of yet but I have been selling them in the Detroit (where I'm from). I will be taking online advanced orders in about a week or so. I just finished shooting my national campaign so I had to wait until that was done to actually launch the site. I have been sending samples, though so if the readers leave their contact info @ www.facedrama.com or email facedramacosmetics@yahoo.com- we will get back to them. I can't keep all this fabulousness to Detroit, only!

EDIT: The products are now available online

7. What advice can you give women trying to venture out and start a business?

The best advice that I can give a woman starting her own business is- don't be afraid to succeed. Many times, we talk ourselves out of being successful. All successful people started big.... Baby steps are for who they are named after- babies! Come out running in your stilettos!

Now I want to share with you a few pictures of the makeup

The packaging is so sophisticated!

I have two lipsticks in Hot mama (Sexy Red), Loot (Bronze) and 1 Gloss ware in Mary Berry ( Pinkish brown with a hint of gold)

My camera doesn't capture the essence of the products! I'm working on that though. Did I mention the gloss taste like chocolate cake?

I have two eyeshadow pots in Sugar Cookie (resembles a sugar cookie with sparkle) and Smoldering (Think black Licorice). The shadow is very pigmented and stays on ALL day without creasing!

I really love these products! I have even started to wear the lipstick and I have always been a gloss type of girl! What I love the most is how personable Keka is! She cares about your needs and it really does matter to her if you like the product! So go check her out over at FaceDrama.com! Leave her comments, questions or concerns in the comment section and she will answer you back!!

Keep It Clumping,

Tamar
