The Mascara Bin has been a tad bit incomplete. How can I neglect reviewing one of THEE most innovative mascaras out on the market right now? Lancome’s Oscillation is the first vibrating mascara to go mainstream. Is it really worth the $35 price tag? Hmmm…check out the review!
Lancome Oscillation mascara
Price: 3 out of 5 (around $34.00 )
Packaging (Brush Wand):
5 out of 5Overall:
5 out of 5
What it claims:
” Press the button and experience a breakthrough sensation in application. In one easy new gesture, let the vibrating brush combined with an exquisitely smooth formula wrap every lash up to 360 degrees.” (source)
I see why this mascara is so expensive. You really do get what you pay for. The wand is great too. Small enough to get those little corners and perfect for my smaller lashes sisters.
What I loved about it:
I got super long lashes. I mean I was impressed!
What I didn’t like: The price is a bit steep for a mascara. Even if it works well. And especially if you have to toss it every three months.
Overall: Finally!! I am so delayed on reviewing this mascara. It has been out for months and I am JUST now getting to it. I’ll be honest—I had a bit of an attitude with Lady Oscillation simply because she was so expensive. I haven’t been into make-up THAT long but in all of my years, I never heard of a mascara being more than $20. Granted, I am bit of drugstore diva. But still.
Simply put, Oscillation is amazing! There is hype for this $34 mascara for a reason. My lashes have never looked so long before! I’m serious. Your lashes are coated evenly which give you a good amount of volume. And the wand is ideal for separation. I love that it is water-resistant and um, clumps? Nope….I didn’t experience any. The only compliant that I can think of that people may have with Oscillation is that it is a little heavy on the lashes. This wasn’t a problem for me, but I can see how it can be an issue for others.
Another thing about Oscillation is that one coat does the trick. In the photos below I only used one coat. I find that vibrating mascaras work best with only one coat. Two and three are a little TOO much, in my opinion. That and you risk running into clumps. Oscillation’s vibrating wand has 7,000 oscillations a minute and you feel every bit of it. If your eyes tend to water easily, you may endure some watering with small strokes of Oscillation.
And I’m sure you’re wondering how Oscillation compares to Maybelline’s Pulse Perfection
; the drugstore vibrating mascara. I compared the two a bit in my video but will do a formal review soon. Stay tuned for that!

Would I recommend it?: Absolutely!
–let me know what you think about that video. I’m using iMovie for the first time and am still trying to get the hang of it.
So what do you think? You want it? Got it? Love it? Hate? Tell me!
