Ah yes…it’s another Travel Edition of FOTD Friday. 2009 was a good year for me when it came to traveling. I went to back to Atlanta for my birthday, the Presidential Inauguration in DC, back to Los Angeles, back to the Bahamas and I went to NYC a good 4 times. To find me at home on a weekend was a rarity.
I brought in 2010 the same way….NOT at home. I went to NYC with some girlfriends and wowsers! Enjoy the photo journey.
So despite Jet Blue delaying my flight (they get 2 fails from me…I’m sticking with Delta Airlines), I wanted to hit the city the minute I got in. But cold weather will make you lazy. Liner, mascara, lips and DONE!
And can someone tell me the “cute at night” protocol in NYC? I can stand being cold. But being cute and having to jump on trains and buses in the blistering cold? No ma’am! That weather was killing me softly though. Single digit temps? That’s just unreal where I’m from. But even the bitter cold couldn’t stop me from exploring the city from sun up to sundown for a good 4 days. I’m not the biggest fan of the Time Square area anymore. It was cool when I was okay when I was a super tourist but now it’s just too much, too much and TOO much. I ventured down there anyway.
Has anyone seen Wicked?
Saturday, January 2nd was my birthday. I turned 25. They say it goes downhill from there but whatev. I’m still a big kid and don’t see that changing any time soon. I had lunch with the BFF and the ever so wonderful Eileen from Miss. Whoever You Are.
Gosh, I love her. Capricorns (including the famous Luvvie) rock! Later that night I was supposed to go to Lips NYC but dammit….a psycho cab driver who tried to run us down and kill us (wish I was kidding) got us all delayed. We ended up going to Moomia Lounge and…I LOVED that spot.
I also had brunch with Charu from the Butterfly Diary at Rachel’s. Delish! Of course Sea Thai Restaurant in the East Village was good. I had some great BBQ at Dallas BBQ and looooved Grey Dog in Chelsea. That spot was SO me.
Oh, New York….how I miss thee. But I was also excited to get back to being in control of my transportation again too. Living is SO different in Florida. Not good or bad, just different. I’ve learned to appreciate the luxuries of Florida even though I yearn to be else where.
‘Tis it for now! Hope you enjoyed this Travel Edition of FOTD Friday.
Have an awesome weekend!
