Mascara Monday: Rimmel Lash Maxxx mascara

| March 15, 2010 | 5 Comments

If I had to say which brand of mascaras I get the most requests for…it’s Rimmel! Here’s another kid to add to the family…

Rimmel Lash Maxxx

I spy with my brown eye a mascara wand with a comb. WOOOO!!! But was it good or a bust?

Price: 5 out of 5 (I got it for about $5.69 at Target)
Packaging (Brush Wand): 5 out of 5
Overall: 4 out of 5

What it claims:
Per the packaging…

The truth: I’m just loving that it’s a comb!

What I loved about it: The comb, of course. I LOVED Maybelline’s Lash Stylist and almost died a thousand deaths when I found it was discontinued. Rimmel brought me back to life with this wand.

What I didn’t like: It doesn’t provide a lot of volume or length, but then again, I don’t think it’s supposed to.

Overall: Reading is fundamental. Seriously! If you notice the packaging of this mascara, it said nothing about volumizing or lengthening. This mascara is designed to separate your lashes. One lash is supposed to look like three lashes. It’s all about multiplying, baby! Does Lash Maxx do this? Absolutely!

It really only takes one coat of this mascara to do the job. I found that it REALLY clumps with a second or third coat. Lash Maxxx is great for training the lashes to go in a certain direction. If you’re like me and have lashes that go in allll directions, one coat of Lash Maxx is great at thoroughly coming through the lashes. So to my ladies that have lashes that go straight down, this may be a great mascara for you.

Lashes with 1 coats of mascara
I had to zoom in just to show you how serious the separation is.

Would I recommend it?: Sure! Especially if your lashes go alllll over.

Hi, I'm a long-time 'lurker' and 'stalker,' sorry I haven't given feedback before but I really enjoy your posts, your beauty, your humor. Like this review, for example. It's filled with what I like about your blog: honest review, lighthearted, and showcasing your particular and individual beauty. I think it's the beautiful spirit inside that makes the difference. Thank you for the inspiration.

I picked this up during the CVS 75%off sale (but mine is in blue packaging, hmmm). I got this one and the Eye Magnifier (which I tossed soon after opening because I HATED it just that much). I must say that the comb-like applicator is what drew me to it and the sole reason I bought it, aside from the great clearance price. I haven't tried it yet, but it'll be up to bat one I finish what I'm currently using. I'll let you know what I think about it.
