Beauty Review: COVERGIRL Queen Natural Hue concealer

Y’all know I love concealers, right? When I find a good one, I hold on to it for dear life. Because I’m not the biggest fan of full coverage foundation, I have to have a good concealer. One that provides me light coverage, won’t clog my pores and won’t evaporate in Florida’s insane humidity.

That said, I was SO happy to hear that the COVERGIRL Queen collection released concealers that are brown girl friendly.

Hallelujer! Drugstore concealers for brown girls? “Where dey do that at?” Peep this…
This lightweight non-acnegenic concealer comes in 4 shades; Light, Golden, Terra and Cocoa. The sponge tip applicator takes some getting used to.

I never know how to use this. Do I dab it on my hand and apply using my fingers or a brush? Or is it okay to simply swipe the concealer directly on my cheeks? What is your preference?

Either way, I find it to be smooth and light. My best shade for me was Cocoa. For reference, I am NW45 in MAC Cosmetics.

It blends right on in and gives me the day-to-day coverage that I seek without looking “too made up.”

I am able to dust a translucent powder over my cheeks and I’m good to go. And somehow…it manages to last ALL day. I’m impressed! Not bad for $8! You go, COVERGIRL Queen!

Whatcha think? Are you a concealer wearer?

I have no idea how to properly wear concealer, though Ive always wanted to try it. Maybe CG Queen collection will be a good place to start.

I am so happy you did a review. I went all the way to the store and they didnt have one single concealer in stock Booo! I can't wait to try them! i hope there is a shade for me

What shade do you think would match NW45 the closest?

  • Askmewhats

I kinda like this type of concealer texture as they are so easy to blend!

  • Amour

I'm mainly a concealer wearer because it's usually to hot where I stay to wear anything heavier and it last. Not to mention I don't like to look too "caked" up and that's what seems to happen when powder hits foundation. Currently I'm using another brand that i'm pretty pleased with but i'd definitely want to give this a try and review it myself. Thanks B!

lydia—> Less is more. I find that dabbing it on my cheeks and them blending evenly. Since this concealer is so budget friendly, I think it's a great place to start. :)

SanTara—> Dangggg, hope they get some in stock too. You're going to like it!

B—> That's my shade so Light would be best for you. Thanks for your question, I'm going to edit the post and add that in there. :)

    Nikki—> Exactly!!

Amour—> Gotta use what works. I'm a pretty faithful person when it comes to my favorite products. Rock on, mama!

Running out now to Rite Aid to see if I can find this! Great review.

I love wearing concealer on a day to day.. heck, I have to. Hooray for inherited undereye circles! Or, not, lol. I looked at these colors in the store and they're too dark for me though :( Sad sad thing. My collection of "maybe this is the right concealer for me!" is pretty impressively large though! Too dark & I use them for contouring. Too light & I use them for brow highlights :)

  • B

Opps, B…I lied. My shade is Cocoa!

Martha—> What fabulous uses for mismatched concealers!

  • Ms. Viva Glam

Thanks for the review. Yes, I love wearing concealer. If your concealer is right you really don't need foundation. I'm going to have to make a trip to my drug store.

Btw, I love the nail polish color :)

does this work for under eye circles? im in desperate need for a good one

  • Reminds me of MAC Moisture cover, have you tried it? Thats my HG Mascara. I always get my mascara a few shades lighter than my foundation/skin color gives a great highlighted glowy look!

    • Brittany

      Noo, haven’t tried that.

  • Keema

If I wear “Cocoa” CV Natural Hue concealer and Black Opal “Beautiful Bronze”, can you give me some other matches that can be easily found over the web or in pharmacies? I have the hardest time finding a new concealer when one store doesn’t carry it.

    • Brittany

Shoot me an email and I can give you some ideas. :)
