Sugarpill Cosmetics Burning Heart palette

| January 20, 2011 | 24 Comments

I can’t remember where I first heard about Sugarpill Cosmetics but the brand has been on my radar for quite some time. I intended to make a purchase many moons okay but a girl got lazy yo.

So here it is…my first visit with Sugarpill Cosmetics.

‘Nuff said, right?

First things first–I love a brand that quick ships so when I got this palette in just 3 days after ordering, I was excited. Sugarpill Cosmetics was born just last year but a pretty funkadelic fashion designer. Her style is all about color, color and more color. Which, of course, makes me love the brand.

Even the packaging is all about color and cool art.

And then when you pop it out of the box…

I kinda dig the packaging on this. It isn’t metal but it isn’t quite paper-y either. It feels nice and sturdy.

Pretty, uh?

Flamepoint (orange) is a lot more vibrant than what these pictures show. And as far as swatches…

I say Love + (red) and Buttercake (yellow) do the best in terms of initial swatches. Love + surprised me the most. I don’t think I have ever seen a red so vibrant.

The palette retails for $34 and shipping is $5 in the U.S. Considering how gorgeous the packaging and performance of the shadows are, I think this is a pretty reasonable price. The eye shadows are about the same size as Make Up For Ever’s shadows so you certainly get bang for your buck. And I loved the cutesy sticker and loose shadow sample. Gotta love great customer service!

Think you’ll invest in Sugarpill soon?

  1. Never tried the brand although I did hear about them. Have to say that red shade (Love +) seems like a pro artist color. Very intense color that could be used as blush as well as eye shadow. I’ll definitely have to do some further investigation on this brand.

    Thanks for sharing Brittany!

I thought the same thing about Love +. Although you’d have to use a super light hand because it is soooooo pigmented.

I remember when Sugarpill was born. I heard nothing but good things about it but my mu shopping has been put on the backburner this past year due to personal & health issues. I may just treat myself and splurge.

I’ve been looking at some of those pigments for a while (especially goldilux) but I have yet to buy them. Mostly because I have so many other eyeshadows I need to finish before I can justify buying another one!

  4. Like milaxx, I also heard negative things about the company and their make-up which made me sort of forget about them. The palette Does look super tempting though seeing as its not easy to find such pigmented shadows. Can’t wait to see u do a look with it B :)

Can you show a look with these colors, or at least one of them? Though they’re beautiful, I can’t imagine what someone would do with those bright colors.

Wow, those are some bright and pigmented shades, love them! The packaging is gorgeous too!

I love sugarpill. I have the entire line thanks to a christmas present from the boo! Shoutout to Ty.Burning heart is great.Just make sure to use a primer and a nice base cause I have found the red to stain the eye.But I love the line.Goldilux and royal sugar are my fav loose shadows.

Awesome color payoff. They look a little chalky though. I’m curious as to how they blend…..

  10. That looks so cool! I’m about to look them up..I need something jazzy for Valentine’s Day…

Bright, indeed! I don’t own any, but I sure do see a lot of makeup tutorials where the teacher uses Sugarpill.

Those colors are gorgeous, Brittany! I hardly think about red eyeshadows. I always think that it would be hard to incorporate red into an eye look. But, I think a little pop of red color in the crease wouldn’t hurt :)
