Summer shavin’ with Schick. And summer reading too.

Okay, raise your hand if you’re moderately hairy but still don’t shave on a regular. Yeah. I’m that girl. I’ve never been obsessed with shaving every day. Quite frankly, I find it to be too much of a hassle and too time consuming. But check this out…

Ta da!! It’s Schick’s Intuition! I know it’s nothing new but I have rediscovered this beauty of a razor and I’m in love. First of all, how beautiful is the handle? Gorg, right? You know how us women can be. Sometimes our beauty gadgets have to be pretty and decked out in colors for us to want to play with them. The limited edition Schick razors come in this and two other fun designs.

And you know what makes Intuition the coolest of all razors, right? It comes with built-in shaving cream.

Which makes it the perfect traveling companion. And with airlines charging extra for EVERY ounce in a suitcase, packing lightly  just makes sense. They come in 3 variations; Moisture with Pomegranate extract, Naturals with all-natural aloe and the Moisturizing Care Pack with milk and honey and shea butter. And it feels sooooo good on the legs. It lathers up with ease and the 4 blades handle the rest. As long as you keep this kid in a dry area, you should get a ton of use out of it.

So yes…Intuition is the business. Snag it from for $8.99.

In other news…I’m reading again!

This is such a big deal because between blogging, freelancing, working with the day time  job and Earth Blend & Flower, I never really have time to read. But in attempts to find some sanity, I went and purchased  Little Bee and Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella and have been in literary heaven ever since.

I love real books. I still can’t get down with the e-reader, iPad, Nook, Kindle thing. Just…no. There’s something about the smell of an old and new book. Yes, I sniff books. You judgin’ me yet. Hehe!

Anyone else shaving their legs and reading this summer? 8)

I love Schick Intuition. I use it every time I shave which like you isn’t that often. Just a word of caution though: the blades are very sharp in a new one. I shaved my fingernail off a couple weeks ago after slipping in the shower. Lol. Embarrassing yet sooo painful.

    • Brittany

      That sounds beyond painful. Ouch!

  • Yveline

I’ve been doing a lot of shaving this summer since I started taking swimming lessons twice a week. I usually just buy whatever razor is on sale at the drugstore, but I’m thinking about investing in an electric wet/dry razor. The only books I’ve been reading are text books since I’m taking two summer classes.

    • Brittany

Yay for taking swimming lessons. I loooove swimming!

  • Lavendar

Oh I agree about the books, B! I’m devastated that Borders is going out of business. That’s the only remaining bookstore in my area. :0(

    • Brittany

OMG, I knowwww. I spent so much time in Borders when I was in high school. Their closing makes me very sad. :(

  • Angelica

I tried Schick intuition, I didn’t like it. I felt like I could only use it once or twice before the built in shaving cream went away.

    • Brittany

Really? Mine has been a lastin’.

  • Markeshia

Yes I am shaving and reading this summer. But I did get down with a Kindle. After trying to move a big ‘ole box of books that I hadn’t touched in a year or more from Alabama to NoVa. I said enough is enough. I love books, but physical books are for real libraries, or people with homes that can hold a library. Not people like me who live in 479 sq ft of apartment. LOL.

    • Brittany

Girlfriend, I know your pain. I’ve got a good 4-5 boxes of boks chillin’ in my storage closet. I just can’t let them go.

  • Was in your great state of FL at Cocoa Beach and made the mistake of using a cheap razor to shave the pits…due to the ghastly Dollar Tree razor, I depilatorized the legs…I could’ve used that Intuition.

On a good note, my beach book was “The Help” and I finished it while on vacay. It was an EXCELLENT read and I can’t wait for the movie. Shout out to my Mum-in-law for feeding my reading bug!

    • Brittany

Ouuuuuch! Cheap razors are so not cool.

I read The Help months go and LOVED it. I can’t wait to see the movie.

  • Tashina

I am a die hard Venus Divine girl. However, those are getting too expensive for me. I am trying to learn how to do at-home sugar waxing.

As for what I’m reading…Right now I’m reading a book called “She Died for Her Sins” by David Champion. After that it’s “Opium: A History” by Martin Booth. Then I have “My Face Is Black Is True” by Mary Frances Berry. I have so many books on my shelf I’ve gotten from the library.

I used to purchase my books and use the library. Why? Well, my local Waldenbooks closed a few years ago. Then the Borders downtown closed. So I’m a straight library girl. There’s nothing like roaming through a bookstore/library and just finding a random book that you wouldn’t have chosen has you been shopping on Amazon. Although…I don’t sniff my books, but I know what you mean about that smell.

I’ve actually owned a Kindle twice, but I returned it both times. I love pages. ^_^

    • Brittany

Ooooh, I’m adding your books to my list. I have really got to utilize the libraries here in the Orlando area more often. There is a really nice one downtown and I actually have a library card. I so need to go.
