Look at me! Look at me! I’m wearing eyeshadow again.
This is like 2 weeks in a row. I’m so proud of myself. I’m just sayin’… When you go from being too lazy and not doing anything more than mascara and liner to actually doing full-blown eyeshadow looks, you have to kinda pat yourself on the back. And don’t think I didn’t. Today’s look is brought to you by Urban Decay’s Vice palette.
Yep yep. Have you gals seen this palette in person yet? O.M.G…online pictures hardly do it. If you’re near a Sephora, do yourself a favor and check out this palette. You’ll likely be shelling out the $60 for this baby.
Yeah, I know. It’s not the world’s most affordable palette but me thinks Sephora’s Friends & Family sale is coming around soon and this palette should definitely be on top of your list. First, let’s see what Sephora says about this palette,
“This decadent collection of shades has a mix of mattes, satins, shimmers, neutrals, and brights, offering a lot of something for everyone. This sleek purple case is beautifully minimal and classic. Press to open and the dampened hinge slowly treats you to a glimpse of the booty inside. The palette also includes a large mirror and double-ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush.” (source)
So wait…20 eyeshadows of various textures AND a double-ended brush? Makes that price seem a little bit better, uh? After all, this isn’t just any kind of palette. This is an Urban Decay palette. Which means the shadows are going to perform impeccably. Yup. Let’s work our way from the outside in.
The box that the palette comes in showcases the shadows on the back which is extremely helpful. And shout-out to Urban Decay for naming their shadows. Many brands don’t feel the need to name the eyeshadows in their palettes and I find it to be crazy frustrating. And this is one sturdy palette, homies. I can’t but my finger on the material that it’s made out of it but it’s solid and long-lasting. It feels like a rubberized finish and I love how it’s smudge-proof too.
It’s definitely one of the most durable palettes I’ve ever come across. And then when you pop it open, well, it’s just pretty mind blowing. I can’t even begin to put my finger on some of the best shades in this baby. Okay, I lied. I can. There’s Chaos…
The lovely Vice.
And Penny Lane…
I love a palette with the perfect mix of bold and neutral shades and the Vice palette does this beautiful. Time for some swatches!
Desperation, Mused, Jagged, Blitz, Penny Lane
Junkie, Chaos, Occupy, Unhinged, Black Market
Nevermind, Echo Beach, Anonymous, Freebird, Laced
Beautiful shades, uh? Am I in love with everyone? Nopers, but how many times have you loved EVERY shadow in a palette? The bright blue matte called Chaos is gorgeous and all but it’s tough to pack on the skin. Of course a base will help it really pop. The jet black stain that is Black Market is a STUNNING black. I love sheerer colors too. Anonymous works as a stunning browbone color for me. I find that most of the shades are workable. And for this look…
I only used 3 eye shadows.
LID – Unhinged (metallic electric turquoise with shimmer finish)
CREASE – Laced (opaque pinky taupe with matte finish)
BROWBONE – Anonymous (opaque almond with matte finish)
Not too shabby, uh? That blue eye took me all of 5 minutes to do. Yessir. I’m lovin’ the Vice palette. There are a tooooon of looks you can create with it. It’s currently available on Sephora.com and if the $60 price tag has you a bit queasy, the holidays are rollin’ around. Know what I mean?
Any lovers of this palette? How awesome is that electric turquoise?
