Gettin’ down with Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette.

| January 8, 2013 | 10 Comments

So ever since I did my post on Urban Decay’s Naked Basics palette, y’all screamed at me at how much of a loser I was for having not tried the other Naked palettes. And yeah, I kinda agree. What kind of blogger am I? You all deserve so much more and I just…I’ve failed.

Yep, my dramaticals are all up in through 2013. Aren’t you excited about it? Ha! But seriously – I’m glad to finally be on the Naked palettes train. Naked 2 is absolutely fantastic and I should have been onboard mooons and moons ago.

The palette has a nice range of glittery shades, mattes and shimmers. I would have loved to see more mattes but then again, that’s why I am so head over heels in love with Urban Decay’s Naked Basics palette. It complements Naked 2 beautifully. If you’re familiar with UD’s shadows, then these won’t disappoint as I found them all to apply with ease with little to no fall-out. But come on…would you expect anything less from this brand? Also with the palette comes a nice and useful dual-ended shadow/crease brush.

Urban Decay’s brushes are always phenomenal and you may expect this one to be of lesser quality since it’s coming in a palette but no, it’s pretty stellar. And then there’s the mini Lip Junkie.

It’s a nice sized gloss – perfect for throwing in your purse. It doesn’t carry much pigmentation although it does have a enough sheen to satisfy my obsession of super glossy lippies. And I’m still playing around with looks but I love love loooove how Snakebite looks on the lid.

So yeah, I don’t have much to complain about when it comes to the Naked 2 palette. I totally get the hype and I’m so glad that I am finally on board. This is the perfect palette to create daytime looks and that Blackout will be dynamic at creating day-to-night looks. I adore colorful eyeshadow, but I like neutrals more so um, yeah…Naked 2 is ruling my life right now.

Any Urban Decay Naked lovers in the house? Which one do you like best? The original Naked, Naked 2 or Naked Basics?

I put off buying it for months and months because of the price, but I grabbed it back in November as a Christmas gift for myself. I can honestly say it’s the best beauty investment I’ve ever made.

  2. umm yeah, I am an extreme failure of a blogger because I haven’t tried ANY of them yet hahahha. I’m most curious about the original Naked palette though, since I like the mix of shades in there. But they’re all pretty, it’s too hard to pick one. Love the look you created with Naked 2, Snakebite is beautifulll!

  3. Against my will, I put this palette on my Xmas list (because Sweet Baby Jesus knew I wanted to buy it myself, but nooooooo… you gotta let people do for you around the holidays!). Thankfully, my mother-in-law knew what was good and got it for me, and I haven’t put it down since! I like the upgrade in brush and the increase in mirror size from the Naked palette, but the ONLY thing I don’t like is that they repeated the color “Half Baked” on this one. I really don’t see why that was necessary, as all the other colors are just different enough to build on what they started in the Naked palette. You are going to have a blast with this one!

I LOVE Naked 2, LOVE IT. I just wish it was a little shorter in width cause it doesn’t fit in any of my makeup bags.

I have Naked and Naked 2; really had to talk myself out of buying the Naked Basics. I don’t think I can choose a favorite. I use the first Naked palette the most. I like looking at the Naked 2 palette but I didn’t want to use it cause it’s so beautiful. I haven’t even touched the eyeshadow brush. I have used a few of the colors but I think I won’t have to really have to use most of the shadows anytime soon since I already have them in my other UD palettes.

Great review of Urban Decay eyeshadows! I like the care you went in to in describing the brush that comes with this palette!
I am not a big fan of shimmer shadows, I prefer matte for the most part, but I do like some shades!

Good to know Urban Decay provides a quality brush with their palette! Thanks for pointing that out!

First off, this has GOT to be the CLEAREST close ups of colors and swatches I’ve ever seen on a blog. Kudos for that! :-)

Secondly, I’ve recently discovered UD myself — apparently, I’ve been under a rock — and I’m totally addicted. I now have both Naked palettes and several others from them, not to mention a truck load of their eyeliners, a couple of brushes, their glitter liners, etc. I can go on. Heh. In fact, today I received an order with their Theodora palette – GREAT neutral colors for everyday where.

    Very nice blog! Subscribed.

I totally just bought this on Amazon. I googled to see swatches on brown skin and looky who showed up! :-) Now I’m even more excited to receive my package. I’m minimizing my stash and this seems like a great replacement for all my current neutral compacts. Of course I’m going to wait to toss my stash, but I’m hopeful. Thanks for reviewing this!
