As women, we have so many roles that we play: mother, wife, domestic engineer, maid, chef, and chauffeur–you get the drift. In between these roles, it’s hard to fit in the much needed nurturing and care of the most important person–US! Day 2: Get At Least 7 Hours Of Sleep
I swear that when I get at least 7 hours of sleep I’m a different person. I wake up refreshed and ready to tackle my day! It’s almost as if all my problems were cured in an easy sweep of sleep. And then I look over and see my flowers waiting for my gaze (see what I did there) and I know it’s going to be an awesome day. Taking your health seriously is something that we all need to do. Whether you need to lose weight or build muscle or maintain, doing something physical is something that is a must. Day 5: Read For Pleasure
Read? For pleasure? You mean we still do this!? Absolutely! As a blogger and self-professed social media junkie, when I opened a book I almost had a happy heart attack! The smell of the pages, the feel of the paper, and my imagination swirling with images as I read was so refreshing. I committed to reading for 10 min/day at the beginning of the year. We exercise our bodies but doing the same for our minds is so important.
Day 6: Journal
Gratitude journaling is all the rave right now and I’m here to tell you NOT to do it. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t feel gratitude for all is great in your life but sometimes you need to decompress your emotions. What better way to do it then to write all of your stresses, sadness, frustrations and just get them out and off your heart? Don’t let it fester and make pretend it’s not there by only focusing on the good–address it and then be gone with it. You’ll feel so much lighter!
Day 7: Netflix and Chill
Unwinding is one of the hardest things for women. We internalize so many things and make other people’s problems our own. Nerves get frazzled. And corks are popped.
