Purple Hair Don’t Care – Freedom Like a MAC Cosmetics palette

The eyeshadow that made me fall in love with MAC Cosmetics?

It was Electric Eel. MAC’s Electric Eel was the eyeshadow color that spearheaded my love for makeup. I swatched that bad boy at the MAC Store in the International Mall in Tampa Bay, Florida and so began the obsession. Weeks later I would start a blog in the library of the University of South Florida. And here we are nine years later.

It’s crazyyyyy the kind of nostalgia that floods my mind when I step into a MAC store. The whiff of Fix+ reminds me of living a convent in South Central, LA. The blush Breezy reminds me of when my friends and I would road trip our behinds up and down the streets. I had birthday celebrations in New York, Atlanta, Las Vegas, the Bahamas. MAC Cosmetics = memories.

So when I rolled up into the Florida Mall location here in Orlando and saw Dezzy’s adorable face, I was hit with a ton of memories and man, it felt good.

Remember that one time I went to this location? The layout and experience is STILL unlike any other MAC store and it was so cool to see so many people really “playing” with the makeup samples. Dezzy and I were on a mission, though. I was there to check out the palette system AND build my own fabulous palette.

Summer 2016 Edition – 5 Skincare Products That I’m Loving

Oh darlings, I know I’ve been pretty ghost around these parts. It seems as if Clumps of Mascara is a 3rd grader on summer break. Ha! Too bad I don’t get the opportunity to get any real breaks. I mean, Esposo did put me up in a hotel so that I could be relieved of mama duties and trust me, that was sooooo appreciated.

Until our huge relaunch and site redesign in the Fall (I can’t wait for you guys to see it! I really hope you love it), things will be a bit quiet with 1-2 posts a week. But I’m not quiet everywhere. I’m alllll over Snapchat, Instagram and the Clumps of Mascara Facebook page houses some of the best and most beautiful people in the world.

If you’ve been following me on Snapchat, you know that I’ve been hooooooked on Skincare items lately. Like,  I can’t get enough. I’ve vowed to be more invested in the products that I use and I really just want to get into a nice routine. I’m 31 and wrinkle-free NOW, but shoot…I won’t be forever 31. Hehe, see what I did there?

So here we are! My current skincare loves…

Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum (here, $59.50-$154.00)*

Beauty samples…which ones led to purchases?

Hey y’all! Happy Weekend from me and my Lipstick League sisters. Check out these hot posts circulating the web.

Clumps of Mascara – Who knew it could be possible to be THIS obsessed with lipsticks? I still can’t get over how awesome these Urban Decay Vice lippies are.

EauMG – tries a refreshing perfume that is inspired by summer thunderstorms in the Florida Everglades.

Gouldylox – I’ve discovered the most amazing skincare line out of Spain and 100% of the proceeds further their research of rare and ultra-rare childhood diseases. (And the skincare is out of this world AND inexpensive. You’ve got to see my before and after!)

My Beauty Bunny – It’s the ultimate showdown featuring Anastasia Beverly Hills, the queen of all things eyebrows: Battle of the ABH Brows: Brow Wiz vs. Brow Definer!

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks For The Win

Man. They’ve done it again. And I was one of the lucky few to get a few samples of the new Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks. They aren’t just regular lipsticks, y’all. Yes, I know Urban Decay has given us lipsticks before. What makes these so different?

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks

Why spend $17? Aren’t ALL lipsticks essentially the same? What makes Vice so nice?

Sit down and join me on a beauty mecca through the greatness of the Vice, baby. What you’re seeing are a few of Wende’s favorites and uh, my favorite’s too!

Zoya Dixie

Hey y’all! Happy Weekend from me and my Lipstick League sisters. Check out these hot posts circulating the web.

Blushing Noir – #LipstickIsMyVice about as much as Ruby Rose is. FYI that means A LOT. Put those two together, add in that Urban Decay swag and just give me all 100 Lipsticks…. But for now we can do with Wende’s 10 Top Picks (plus one more)!

Clumps of Mascara – I mean, is there anything better than a sunset at the beach? Zoya is giving us all kinds of love with their Sunsets collection. I am in love!

EauMG – It’s a new month with new empties! Here’s my June 2016 Empties!

Gouldylox – Really short nails impossible to paint? This practically free hack will change your nail-lovin’ life!

Zoya Sunsets Collection

Oh Zoya, my goodness…when will you stop being great? It is official. Zoya is my #1 favorite nail polish brand because they are always so consistent with their nail polish formulas. No one does cream nail polishes better than them and I’m so grateful they sent me the Sunsets collection.

This beauty was also released with the Pixie Dust Seashells collection and I’ll be reviewing those babies very soon. Both are available at Zoya.com now. These aren’t my most perfect swatches and please forgive me in advance. I wanted to get this up sooner rather than later versus having you wait even longer for them.

Gouldylox – I fell down the rabbit hole of new lipstick formulas and picked four favorites. My choices might surprise you…

The Receutics Active Skin Repair Experience

This sponsored post is brought to you by One2One Network. Guest contributor BriAna is sharing her experience with the fabulous Receutics Active Skin Repair skincare line.

Receutics Active Skin Repair1My skin goes through regular mood swings. Between being extremely oily and dryer than the Mojave desert, I have acne scars, and overall problem skin. I change the face wash I use daily, depending on how my skin feels that day. So, when I was given the opportunity, I was beyond excited to try a new facial care regimen.
