Some Floridan who grew up going to Disney I am. This was the first year I had ever heard about the D23 Expo. It’s funny how one second you go from not knowing about something to seeing it and immediately getting FOMO (fear of missing out).
I mean, what the heck, man? Y’all weren’t going to tell me about this? Did you know about D23 too or was I the only person missing out?
D23 is what CES is to tech.
It’s what The Makeup Show is to makeup.
It’s what annual car shows are to the car industry.
D23 is where magical memories are made and where the newest and hottest Disney news is dropped every other year. Those who are there hear about it FIRST and the rest of us sit behind our screens and phones pretending not to care.
We really do care, though.
While I sat FOMO’ing like mad, here are the 5 announcements that I was most excited to hear about.
I feel like the movie Ratatouille doesn’t get enough love. It’s a shame because it’s SUCH a good movie. I am sooooo excited to hear that there will be an attraction added to the French Pavilion at Epcot. It’ll be in 4-D and I can’t wait.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
I guess I need to visit The Great Movie one last time since it’ll be removed to make space for this fun adventure that will be at Hollywood Studios. I am always in my feels when rides get exchanged for something else but I think this will do veteran Hollywood Studios hoppers happy.
Three New Ships a Comin’!
Never mind that I have yet to go on ONE Disney cruise (but it’s coming, girl. I feel it in my bones), I was geeked to hear that they’ll be adding three new ships to the lineup. This will make 5 total and I think it’s pretty cool that more families will get the opportunity to enjoy a little Disney magic on the sea.
Disney Skyliner Coming to Walt Disney World Resort
Have you ever seen something and been like, “Whoa…why wasn’t this already a thing?”? That’s how I felt about the Skyliner. This will be such a perfect fit for some of the properties. So far we know that they’ll connect Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts and other locations with Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You know who will be first in line to check these.
New Space Restaurant to Dining Experience at Epcot
Stooooop iiiiit! The Disney dining experience is already out of this world (see what I did there?) but now we’re going to get a dining experience that literally takes us there? I can’t wait. Epcot is already one of my favorite parks (here’s one reason why) but these new features are really going to make it my FAVORITE park.
