This won’t be a word heavy post because sometimes you have to let the pictures, talk. Once again, Shopbop has me swooning and it’s taking everything in me to not purchase everything in these pictures. Enjoy swooning with me, babes. Scroll over each picture to get details.
You know those women who spent a great chunk of their girlhood wanting to be Moms? That wasn’t me, y’all. I’m not even going to sit here and pretend that “Be A Mom” was on my list of things to do while adulting. People freak out when you admit this kind of stuff because it may sound like I don’t want to be a Mom, but come oooon, my kids are too awesome to deny.
I don’t flood my social media accounts with pictures of my kids, but have you seen even a glimpse of these beings? They’re gorgeous and I could not be more proud to be their mother. But I’m sayin’…I totally didn’t expect this life of mommy’ing and I’m still shocked that we’re all semi-surviving. I thought parenting a toddler would send me running to the hills. Toddlers are craziness and it’s the most challenging part of parenting, so far.
I’m still in Newborn Bliss and loving every minute of it but I had to break away to tell you about this faaaabulous sale that Shopbop has going on. And I know what you’re thinking. Who doesn’t have a fabulous sale going on? Black Friday is rearing its SPEND YO MONEY ,HONEY head and well, I’m answering these calls, girl.
I need a new diaper bag. And not one of those diaper bags that look like diaper bags. I want something fancy and classy and stylish.
Why yessss…something like those! I am okay with spending a few hundred on a nice purse because shoot, mama is all about treating herself and now is as good of a time as any with this sale going on.
Fa la la la laaaaa to back to school season. Not gonna lie, y’all – I’m happy we aren’t there yet because WOW, it seems like a stressful time for parents and kiddos alike. But I remember this season when I was growing up and the best part about summer ending and school starting back up was shopping! Picking out a slew of brand new clothes and shoes was the total highlight for us. Brand new kicks, tops, backpacks and markers? Oh yesss…we thought we were living the life. Through Mom Central, I got the opportunity to style EB with back to school outfits that she handpicked herself from Carter’s. Our little lady has a pretty groovy style profile at only 2 years old and I can’t wait to see how she continues to experiment with fashion.
‘Tis the back to school season, y’all! I’m trying to navigate my way around this time of year because although Elle isn’t quite yet 3, in a few years, I’ll be joining the rush of parents who are tackling e-sites and stores to get the best deals. I was totally oblivious to all of this before I was a parent, but now it’s like a secret club that I’ve been drug into. I’m not doing much shopping for Elle, but I do like to keep an eye out on spectacular deals for my younger relatives and friends with littles. I like being a part of a village and help where I can. I’ve partnered up with ShopAtHome.com to share with you some of the pretty sweet offerings that Sears has around this time.
I’ve talked about ShopAtHome.com before and while they’ve got thousands of coupons for many retailers, Sears is really giving the love because right now they have over 30 coupons available AND 8% cashback.
What does this mean?
Not only are you able to rack in on the savings from purchases, but you will also get an additional 8% off! Nice, right?
I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. With Elle, I didn’t need to buy any maternity clothes. I gained very little weight and had such a small bump. This time around, I had to invest in maternity clothes at about 5 months. Crazy, right? I’ve had to attend a wedding, funeral, speaking engagement and conference all while rockin’ a bump so maternity style has been such a big deal for me these days. Luckily Sears has me covered in that department! Not only do they have fantastic deals for little kids and big kids who are headed back to school, but they’ve also got stellar deals for us maternity chicks who may be heading back to school – be it college or the boardroom. There’s a little something for all of us and I’ve found several pieces that I’m thinking fellow waddling women will love.
Sleeve Open Shrug
Shrugs rock whether you’re pregnant or not because they are incredibly practical. Perfect for the season, I love layering these on early in the morning while dropping Elle of to school and they are ideal in my super cold office. Comfy and accommodating to the bump, a good shrug is a staple for a pregnant gal.
Printed and Pretty
Just because we’re pregnant doesn’t mean we can’t be fly. So many dresses and shirts come in stripes and I always love seeing different prints and designs. This dress would be perfect either on the go and I’d love to pair it with a nice blazer to wear into work. You can also dress it down with a pair of strappy sandals.
Basic and Beautiful
Sometimes you need to keep it simple and there isn’t anything more simple than a basic tee that you can style up. I love wearing it with a blazer, cardigan or solo on days that are sweltering. They’re comfortable and stretchy for a growing bump and I am such a fan of accessorizing simple shirts like these.
Multi Purpose Style
I haaaate frumpy maternity wear so I always try to pick items that I’d likely want to wear if I didn’t have a bump. A flowing tunic is so up my alley and I can’t get enough of this one. Nicely fitted for a bump, I can see myself rocking this shirt even while NOT pregnant. Yeah girl, I’m not ashamed.
While maybe a bit too fancy for any back to school events, this formal dress is perfect for a wedding, gala or party. I’ve had to attend a wedding while pregnant and I so wish I would have seen this. The material highlights the bump beautifully but it still comfortable enough for pregnant mamas to get their boogie down on the dance floor.
What say you? Are you a fan of maternity wear?

It’s pretty fair to say that no outfit is perfect unless you get the shoes right. Whether you’re going to work, have a date or you’re just spending the day shopping, you need to match your shoes to your outfit and this will always include choosing the right heel height. How do you match your heel to your outfit? Take a look at these tips.
How to know which height is best
You will naturally feel more comfortable with a certain heel height, depending on whether you have a high or a low arch and it’s best to go with this height wherever possible. However, some outfits demand a different heel height. If you are wearing pants then your main consideration is making sure your heels are high enough to keep the pant legs off the floor. Other than that you can go as high or low as you like. However, when wearing a short skirt or shorts it is better to choose a lower heel. Strappy sandals go with just about everything, pair platforms or mules with trousers or throw on a pair of wedges with your dress for an effortless summer look.
What to do when you can’t try them on
Choosing the right pair is much more difficult when you buy shoes online, retailers like Tesco have hundreds of options and you can’t try them on with your outfit first. Take into consideration the length of your skirt/dress/trousers and the style of your outfit. If you get really stuck with choosing the right height then the classic 3-inch heel is the best way to go.
Another month and another fierce Shopbop sale is gracing our wallets and probably making them moan in agony.
A sale means you’re actually save money so it’s not all a lost cause. Time to start racking up those summer goodies, babes! I’m thinking sandals, beach scarves and totes, luggage for travel and pretty much anything your little heart desires. I haven’t really started scouring the site yet for anything but I know that I’m going to want to snag something nice for my Mom for Mother’s Day. She’s a Michael Kors lover so maybe she’ll love this?
Oh! And I actually kinda need a Spring wallet and this baby has my name written all over it.
Keep an eye on your calendars! The sale won’t last long. It started yesterday, April 7th and will end Friday, April 10th at 4AM EST. Not a lot of shopping time and you can gurantee that they’ll run out of many of the hot items so better hop to it with the quickness.
