LORAC Pro Palette 2 packaging
Yay for another post from the The Lipstick League! We are a group of beauty bloggers, bound together by the desire to save the world with beauty, one post at a time!

Question of the Week: Your house has been robbed–don’t worry everyone is safe–but your beauty stash has been raided. What’s the ONE product you hope has not been stolen?

My Beauty Bunny – You may have heard China recently changed its rules on cosmetics animal testing. But what exactly does the rule change mean for cruelty-free beauty lovers? We’ve got the facts!

Nouveau CheapOne product that functions as moisturizer, face primer AND sunscreen? Surely that’s too good to be true…or is it?

Prime Beauty – celebrates our nation’s birthday and Eddie’s with a giveaway from Eddie Funkhouser!

Phyrra – shares her June Beauty Favorites! Do you love any of these?

Clumps of Mascara – tried very hard to ignore it. In fact, it looked pretty similar to the original. But she was weak and so LORAC’s Pro 2 palette was purchased and it is looooved!

EauMG – Victoria’s is in LOVE with this indie bath and body line’s bubbling, foamy sugar scrubs. Oh, and they smell DIVINE.

Happy 4th of July, America!

Happy 4th of July

Because any holiday is reason enough for me to indulge in a cupcake. Just sayin’… Truthfully, though – I’ve always acknowledged Juneteenth more than the 4th of July since it relates to history more but hey, I am all about that freedom stuff and whatnot. Sending my fellow Americans lots of positive vibes. Enjoy this day and keep it safe!

Also, would I be a mean parent if I woke my babe up and took her to see fireworks? Seriously though! Elle goes to bed at 7pm and fireworks don’t start until 9pm. I reallllly want to take her. I’ll wake her. Yeah.

Enjoy your day!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick…whooooa!

I’ve been wanting to buy Too Faced’s Melted lipsticks forever. I tried to ignore them. I told myeslf that I would hardly use them and that they weren’t really THAT unique.

Too Faced Melted

I lied to myself. And last weekend, I finally bit the bullet and purchased one. I was trying to be modest and hoard them all but really it was the Melted Fuchsia that called my name. Have you girls tried it? Ohmigoooodness.

Too Faced Melted Fuchsia
I’m pretty sure this shade will look gorgeous on just about anyone who wears it. It is indeed a very BRIGHT fuchsia but it somehow flatters me as it has nice blue undertones. And as all of the reviews have claimed, these Melted thingies wear very well. Do yourself a favor and exfoliate your lips if you find them cracking. These babies tend to seep into every crack and crease. The smell reminds me of Play-Doh but it doesn’t bother me. Honestly, I’ll take Play-Doh scents any day over floral or vanilla scents.

Too Faced said that these lippies should have “the shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick.” Very interesting concept and one that I don’t think I’ve heard of before. The applicator has makes applying it easy.

Too Faced Melted applicator

I was shocked at how opaque this is, but that’s a good thing! It feels very light on the lips and really does last for quite some time. If you’re eating and manage to wipe your mouth, you will likely wipe off the color but yep, you’re left with just a little bit of staining.

It does surprisingly well and I’m trying to figure out which bill I shouldn’t pay so that I can buy some of these babies. Haha! Just kidding.

Seriously, though…at $21 they aren’t cheap but they are so worth the price and I don’t think I’ve come across a lip product that has gotten me THIS excited in soooo long. So yeah, girl. I’ll be wearing this lippy foreeeeeever.

Have you tried Too Faced’s Melted lippies yet? Check ’em out here.

Why RoC rocks and #RoCWrinkleRanking!

RoC antiaging products

This is a sponsored post through Beauty Stat and last week a pretty cool Twitter party went down. If you missed the memos that I posted all over social media and thus missed the party, girl…I feel for you. Guys and girls from all over tweeted using the hashtag #RoCWrinkleRanking. A mess load of prizes were given out and we all got the skinny on how wrinkles and zip codes are interrconnected. Who would have thought?

We counted down the top 50 wrinkle-prone cities. The research was done by RoC and  Sperling’s BestPlaces and I sat on the edge of my seat with anticipation to see where Orlando, Florida would fall. I knew we would make the list and sure enough, we were #10. The #1 city was Riverside, California and NYC was #2. While we all tweeted our shock, horror and thoughts over the cities mentioned, we also chatted some of RoC’s awesome products.

RoC Antiaging

My beauty blogger girls have been recommending that I try some thangs from RoC for years now. Honestly, I don’t know what has taken me so long. Their lineup is impressive and you know that I am all about that preventive care. Yes, I know I don’t have wrinkles at 29 but if I get in to the habit of using anti-aging products, I will still look 29 at 59, right? Haha. At least that’s the hope.

RoC Skincare

I can’t wait to really start testing these goodies out. I have already been using the Eye Cream nightly. And I have been searching for a good night cream for months now. I received the following products from RoC.

  • RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Night Cream
  • RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer, SPF 30
  • RETINOL CORREXION Max Wrinkle Resurfacing System
  • RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Serum

RoC Skincare products

Only a true skincare fanatic would get so excited about getting the opportunity to try these. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, know that RoC Skincare has been around for 50 years and they pride themselves on producing anti-aging products that guarantee a visible difference. All of their products are reasonably priced, can be found at your local drugstore and more importantly…THEY WORK! I’ll keep you updated with my experience with RoC. In the meantime, check out that study and see where your favorite cities land.

Have you ever tried anything from the brand RoC?

Living the Truly Radiant Life!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant. All opinions are 100% mine.

Gather around, my loves. For it is time that we talk about dental beauty. I covered a bit of this a few weeks ago when I talked about my toddler’s dental routine, but let’s talk about how us grown folx should be taking care of our teeth.

It has been forever and a day since I’ve played around this brand but I am excited to see that they are still some kind of awesome. In addition to cleaning the teeth, Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant is intended to strengthen and whiten teeth for a more radiant smile. Which, of course, is a total necessity for us beauty bloggers who are always cheesin’ at a camera.

Yes, I know you think that all toothpaste is created equally but no way, girlfriend. I’ve been lovin’ on Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant because it removes 100% more surface stains than other toothpastes and hello, it’s the only toothpaste with baking soda, peroxide and active calcium. Using this toothpaste is so much easier than mixing the baking soda and peroxide in a cup and dipping the toothbrush in. Yes, I come from the old skool. While that may work, it’s good to know that Truly Radiant is a fluoride anticavity toothpaste because nooooo one has time for cavities. No one.

And speaking of the toothbrush…

Have you ever tried the Arm & Hammer Spinbrush? It is pretty comparable to higher end toothbrushes and I can’t get enough of it. Powered by 2 AA batteries, the Truly Radiant Spinbrush removes 100% more plague than a manual toothbrush. And trust me, you can tell the difference after the first time that you use it.

Truly Radiant

But really it’s the Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant Booster that I find intriguing. This stuff is supposed to whiten teeth in just 1 week AND it contains 3x more whitening agent than a leading white strip.

Arm and Hammer Truly Radiant

I am still in the process of using it but I love that it is easy to use and doesn’t require any extra steps. You apply just a wee bit before your toothpaste, brush and go!

If you are feeling the clean and healthy teeth vibes, visit the Truly Radiant website and read tips to bring out your inner radiance on how to live radiantly. I absolutely love her personality and she has me wanting to live radiantly everyday!

Rejoice! Fashion Fair Has Made A Comeback!

So. What do you know what the brand Fashion Fair? And if you tell me that you’ve never heard of the brand, I’m going to freak out. Because…really? Actually, no. I’ll kind of understand because there aren’t that many higher end cosmetic lines developed with the brown woman in mind. I was sent these recently launched products and I couldn’t wait to feature them!

Fashion Fair

I vividly remember Fashion Fair’s iconic pink packaging from back in the day. While their counters were never bustling out of control like some of the other brands, Fashion Fair continued to provide brown women with products fit for us. A few years ago, the cosmetic line went through some rebranding and they are BACK…and better than ever.

Fashion Fair Cosmetics
With slick new packaging and gorgeous formulas and shades, I’m really going to have to keep an eye out on Fashion Fair. They are doing some big thangs and I want to know about it!

Fashion Fair Livid

Their range of eye shadows ($14/ea) are slim but they seem to cover the basics with neutrals, greys and blacks and other shades that can produce a mean smokey eye. I love everything about the shade Livid. This darkened lavender has a satin finish that applies beautifully to the skin.

Fashion Fair swatch

Sweet, right? I’m going to crank out a look using this shadow!

Fashion Fair Bold Lash mascara

In the mascara department, Fashion Fair has Bold Lash Mascara ($16.50) and I’ll do a separate review on that. My first impressions are positive though as the wand looks like it can do some major lash lifting. A good week’s worth of testing will confirm this.

Fashion Fair foundation
I hated that the True Finish Refining Mineral Foundation ($28) wasn’t in my shade but the good news is, Fashion Fair is giving us 18 shades to chose from. Yassss!! I’m going to drop by my nearest Fashion Fair counter to see which shade matches me because I am dying to see how well this foundation works. I love that it is free from oil, parabens and fragrances.

Fashion Fair Illuminating Powder broken

Good Illuminating Powders are hard to come by. And while she arrived to me smashed into pieces, I am going to find a way to repair her again and use the heck out of this Sun Soleil powder. It looks to be quite fitting for my complexion and reasonably priced at $29.

Fashion Fair lipstick
Girl. You knowwww I love a good red lipstick. I’ve been tangoing with IMAN Cosmetics’ Scandalous for quite some time but Seduction may take the cake. Fashion Fair seems to do darn well on the lipstick front. They have so many shades and they go for $16/ea).

Fashion Fair body kit

Fashion Fair skincare

Something I didn’t expect to see from them were skincare products. They have a ton for both face and body. Their Moisturizing Body Kits ($39) make for great gifts and with the combination of a body butter and body oil, it really is a nice value for a higher end brand. Plus, I found the fragrances to be mild, yet obvious without being overwhelming.

Hellooooo. Where have I been? Why didn’t I know more about Fashion Fair’s awesomeness? Why didn’t y’all tell me? They are certainly on my radar now and I plan to feature a lot more of their products in the future.

Any Fashion Fair fans in the house? What’s your favorite product by them?

A Visit to the Salt Room Millenia

“Seriously Brit? You’re going to a room of salt? That’s crazy. Even for you.”

My girlfriend is going to kill me for quoting her but I had to because she’s hilarious. When I told her that I was visiting a Salt Room, she couldn’t fathom what I meant. And I get it but the Salt Room Millenia is exactly what it sounds like. A room of salt. I’ve been visiting salt rooms with with Elle for months now and I was so excited when the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida crew were invited to get a firsthand experience of the only Himalayan Salt Room in the Central Florida area.

And yeah, I know what you’re thinking. “It’s salt! Why would I want to sit in a room of it?”

Perfect for allergy suffers, those with with eczema, colds, ear infections and asthma, salt thearpy or halotherapy has been known to work wonders. A 45 minute session is so incredibly relaxing and visitors will notice an amazing difference in how they breathe. Regular visits will produce the best results and I enjoy taking Elle because even after her first visit,  her chronically dried skin felt so much better.

Salt covers the walls, ceiling and floor and microscopic pure salt crystals get pumped into the room. Salt lamps glow and you, you just sit there and relax in comfortable reclining chairs. It really is that simple. You can come as you are and chances are you won’t see any type of residue on your skin or clothes. Some of the girls mentioned that their hair smelled like salt, which I think makes for a nice “I just left the beach.” touch.

Having visited salt rooms at least 5 times, I am here to tell you…they work! I only wish I could build my own salt room (which is possible!) but something tells me I need to be on the side of wealthy and be a homeowner. Until then, I’ll be visiting the Salt Room Millenia for all of my salt therapy needs.

If you are in the Orlando area, check out the Salt Room Millenia.

Disclosure: My visit to the Salt Room Millenia was complimentary. All opinions are my own.
