I know. I know. We aren’t even done with 2015 but I’ve been reading like a mad woman and I thought I’d share some of my literary loves. This month I’ve been in a bit of a slump. My sister and I are reading Harry Potter and ohmigoodnesssss…these books never end! I’m on Book #3 and honestly? I’m over it. I’m trying to push myself to read it but between my irritation with that and pregnancy fatigue, I’m just taking a little step away from reading right now. Don’t worry, I’ll be back. And hopefully I reach my goal of 52 books before the end of 2015. That said, the following books have changed my world this year.
The Kite Runner
This author is becoming one of my favorites because I fall in love with everything he writes. The Kite Runner is so imaginative and emotional that I found myself really connecting with the characters and the things that they went through. It’s a quick read and it’s a book that you’ll be a little bit sad over once it ends.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Add Chimamanda has one of my favorite authors of ALL time. I feel smarter just by reading her material because she makes me head to the dictionary to look up words she uses. If you enjoy books about race and culture, especially as it relates to Africans living abroad, you will LOVE this book.
