Tales of an Unfaithful Car

Wanna feel like a boss?

Buy a car.

I’m not kidding. I thought I had hit the jackpot the day I went to that used car lot and purchased my first car. Yeah, it was used, but honey, that was MY car. I saved up the money for a down payment. By.myself. I felt like such a grown up.

Last month I finally paid that car off and while le’ Nissan and I have had our share of fabulous road trippin’ memories, ole’ girl is acting like she wants to give up the ghost. I mean, what? I pay you off and you want to start acting up? This is sad.

NOCO Genius Boost

Getting the opportunity to review the NOCO Boost Jump Starter could not have come at a better time. Poor Esposo is now rollin’ with my car (while I get to tote the kids in his car, hehe) and every few weeks, he finds himself getting stranded. Okay yeah, we know it’s time to buy a new car but we will literally rock with this bad boy until the wheels fall off. And this Jump Starter has literally saved us time and time again.

The Day My Daughter’s Teacher Found Out I Was A Beauty Blogger

This post is sponsored by Target.

Elle has been attending a formal preschool for a little over a year now, and I’m one of those parents who wishes her school was open on the weekends.

I’m not even kidding. Parenting a toddler is SO difficult, and sometimes I find myself needing a break from my (not so) darling little angel. Elle’s teachers have always been so wonderful, and I make it my business to really get to know them. I’ll never forget the day one of the teachers found out I had a beauty blog.

“Seriously?!” she said.

Bub’s Birth Story

I just went through 200+ pictures that my birth photographer took of Bub’s birth and I still get all emotional. Because ohmigoodness, what an INCREDIBLE birth!

Very rarely do you see words like incredible, life-changing and spectacular used next to “birth” but seriously, y’all…I love giving birth. I love everything about it. I love the mystery. I love how each contraction brings me closer to seeing my  baby. I love how if and when I trust my body, my baby and myself, a baby is…born!

Tis the season, babes! I am sooooo ready. My baby is here. Our house is all kinds of decked out and I’m excited to spend the holiday season with just my small family of four. This year, however, I’m skipping the whole “GO INTO DEBT” theme for gifts and so I’ve selected only a few gal pals to receive gifts.

The Kind of Protection Tech Lovers Need

I married a techie. And I’ve been a techie since the day I received that Palm Pilot when I was 12 or 13 years old. Do you fine people remember those? Yes, I know I’m aging myself but I felt like a mini executive walking around with that Palm Pilot. You would have thought that I had access to the President with the way I strolled around with that thing.

And so began my love for all things tech. Since then, I’ve had over a dozen cell phones, various laptops and desktops (PCs and Macs – I don’t discriminate) and my entire livelihood is virtually surrounded around…tech. Which, okay is a little scary but also a sign of the times. That said, I’ve gotta protect my investments.

I’m So Thankful

Pregnant Fun

So…it’s November. And next month we get to celebrate the last day of 2015. In.sane. I’ll spare you the “Whoa, this year went by fast!” comments, but seriously y’all…this year has gone by so very quickly. I ended 2014 with a renewing and refreshing state of mind. I finished a self-improvement program and had so many ideas and goals set for myself. Things that I wanted to do and accomplish. And well…

I didn’t do it ALL. And that’s okay. As long as I am granted another day to live, that means I’ve got the chance to keep going towards those goals. Right now, though? I just feel so incredibly thankful. The seasons has me feeling this way. Here I am on the brink of Thanksgiving and 39 weeks pregnant and I am just washed over and over with graciousness and satisfaction.
