L’Occitane, L’Occitane. How I love thee, L’Occitane.

I absolutely love L’Occitane. I love saying their name. I love walking into the stores and I absolutely adore the packaging of their products. I am in complete and total shock that I have yet to try their World Famous hand cream. Wellllls, I finally got my hands on it (hehe, no pun intended). I can totally see why just about everyone who tries it loves it.

Isn’t the packaging just beautiful? The limited edition packaging  for the Shea Butter collection, which includes Ultra Rich Body Cream, Hand Cream and Lip Balms are inspired by Bogolan traditional fabrics. I love when beauty products and packaging have some kind of meaning behind them.

But that’s not it…the scent of these products also come from an inspiration; more specifically flowers that are indigenous to the African continent. Desert Rose from Morocco, Hibiscus from Egypt and Cocoa Flower from the Ivory Coast are pleasantly placed in the Shea Butter collection products. Let’s rap about the Hand Cream first.

Retailing at $26 for 5.2 oz and $10 for 1 oz, this is perhaps L’Ocittane’s post popular product. Rightfully so. With a faint hint of hibiscus, this hand cream will find a permanent spot in my makeup bag. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side but if you don’t mind making a splurge on a skincare product, I’d definitely snag this hand lotion. The consistency is creamy and totally ash bashing.

It leaves the skin feeling moisturized without feeling greasy. It is absolutely perfect. Even more so because it’s an actual hand cream.

Meaning it fits in your hands; making it perfect for purses, pockets and briefcases. And then there’s the lip balm ($12)…

At first glance, this balm looks a lot like the hand cream. Even after you pop the top, it looks exactly like the hand cream.

I’m not digging that as a lip applicator. It doesn’t make application difficult, but it isn’t ideal. Lip applicators should be smooth, gentle and pleasant. This one, on the other hand, isn’t as pretty. In fact, I much prefer to put a bit on my finger and then apply on the lips. Which, of course, isn’t exactly sanitary. The consistency of the balm is a lot like Carmex.

It isn’t super thick nor is it super thin. It sits comfortably in the middle. I will say, though, the smell and fragrance are 10x better than that of Carmex. It’s a nice long-lasting balm that I think is great for every day use.

As if I needed another reason to love L’Occitane.

You can snag these from Loccitane.com.

A Dragon’s Blood bar of soap?

Yup. I’m back with a pretty soap from Soap Hope. I am probably the weirdo in my neighborhood because who really goes around taking pictures of bars of soap chillin’ in wood chips? A beauty blogger, that’s who! And I have no shame in my game. Plus, I always feel like “natural products” look so much better in natural settings. Know what I mean?

This is another wonder from Indigo Wild’s ZumBars. Have you ever heard of Dragon’s Blood? Yeah…well, me neither. It’s a tree resin. And contrary to the name, it doesn’t really come from the blood of a dragon. At least I hope not. Even if it does, though…it smells just wonderful. I’m a gal who loves woodsy scents and this bar is giving me that and more.

Plus I found it to be one of the few ZumBar soaps whose scent lasts for quite some time. Of the three that I’ve tried, I think this one may be my favorite.

Not that I’d toss my Cedar and Citrus Mint away. Will forever love Soap Hope for making these soaps affordable.

Eczema sucks but Curel saves the day!

You know how some people have that super soft almost baby soft kind of skin? Yeah well…that ain’t me. In fact, my skin, for most of the year, is usually attacking me. With what, you ask? Gee, where to start? From the acne on my face, to the hypergimentation on my chest, the eczema on my arms and dermatitis down my back, you would think that with all of pampering I give my skin, it would act right soooome of the time. But no. The good thing is, I’ve managed to get my eczema under control thanks to Curel’s Itch Defense.

When it comes to lotions, I am picky beyond picky. I can’t just put anything on my sensitive skin. I usually opt for grapeseed oil in the summer and shea butter in the winter simply because I know they’ll keep my skin moisturized throughout the day. What they won’t do, however, is keep the super itchy skin at bay. But I know what will!

Even a picky gal like myself can get down with this lotion.

This fragrance-free lotion has managed to keep the itches and flaky skin that is mine at bay. How this is even possible is beyond me! I’ve used dermatologist-recommended products that didn’t work. Itch Defense has been so dynamic that I’ve even overlooked the ingredients list.

Again, the lotion snob that is me is careful about what she puts on her skin and while I usually like to go for paraben-free products, I have found so much relief with Itch Defense that I really don’t even care. My experience with many drugstore lotions that promise to alleviate itchy skin is that a lot of them are watery. Not Itch Defense.

It’s a creamy and fluffy lotion that not only feels soothing but lasts throughout the day.

Impressive. Curel’s lotions are usually more expensive than most drugstore lotions and this one is no exception. But $7.99 is just a small price for such an amazing and healing lotion. I’ve already purchased 2 more just to make sure that I don’t run out. Yep, it’s that serious.

Where are my eczema suffers? Have you tried any lotions from Curel?

LUSH’s AvoBath Bath Bomb

Yep, I’m back with another one. This bath bomb smells like avocados. No, I’m kidding. How loco would it be if it did though? But it does contain fresh avocados and lemongrass essential oil. Lemongrass is by far one of my top favorite essential oils. This bomb is also infused with olive oil; a plus for ladies with super dry skin. AKA moi.

But it isn’t my favorite bath bomb. It smells just okay but I didn’t leave the tub feeling all silky smooth like I’ve felt after using other bath bombs. It wasn’t a total waste because I absolutely loved how green it made the water.

Yes, the little things amuse me. It was a good $6.95 but I wanted more from this bomb. It definitely can’t beat my favorite bath bomb. Oh well, off I go to try another one. Have you tried this bath bomb from LUSH? What say you?

Get additional deets about it here.

Add THIS to your makeup bag.

Anyone else feel rather lost and insecure without an on-the-go makeup bag? I know, I know. It sounds absolutely insane for me to admit but I am a gal who REALLY relies on her makeup bag. I have since thrown out my dingy and dirty Hello Kitty makeup bag for one that is 10x more attractive.

Purty, uh? Carefree has gifted me with a Freshen Up Essentials kit complete with all of the items that I’ll need to stay fresh throughout the day.

And is toted in such a darling pink bag.

That says a lot for me considering I’m not a fan of the color pink.

Yeah, I know…

Also inside this kit comes a few of Carefree’s ActiFresh liners.

Don’t get me that Too Much Information face, girl. We’re all women here so we can rap about this sort of thing. Ideal for pre and post-period, these liners are great for giving you that extra bit of freshness. They are super thin, surprisingly comfortable and have an odor control system that keeps you fresh for up to 8 hours. Heyyyy! And did I mention that they are only $6.60 for a 120-count box?

Snag ’em anywhere Carefree products are sold.
