New York Fashion Week Fall 2011: DKNY

While I’m not at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this season, I am loving the looks that I am seeing on some of these runways. Take the DKNY runway, for example…

Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer used such a unique technique for the lids.

Charlotte used Maybelline’s Line Express Eyeliner in Soft Black. She drew a line from the inner corner and took it out past the outer corner of the eye. The results?

A look that I’ll probably try to re-create myself. How hot is that?

Creamy shadows for a Valentine’s Day look

Valentine’s Day. I know, I know. Some of us love it and the rest of us feel like crawling in a hole until February 14 comes and goes. The Love Dork that is me has always REALLY liked Valentine’s Day. And I like to go all out when it comes make-up and nails. If you’re looking for some awesome eye shadows, check out these lovely ones from Sephora.

Stunning right? But wait…

These kids are total winners in my book. While they are intended for eye shadows, I find that they work better as bases. And you have to work quickly because once they dry, they ain’t budgin’. The sponge-tip applicators may make for tough application. My suggestion? Dap a bit on your fingers and theeeeen apply the shadows on your lids. I’ll be doing an FOTD or two using these kids. They are surprisingly crease-less and fantabulous. Not bad for $20. You can scoop ’em up at Sephora stores or Sephora.com.

Got any idea Valentine’s Day look ideas?

Kat Von D and B: Black liner and tattoos

Kat Von D and I have something in common. We both love tattoos. Yeah, I know…some people are all like, “They are so unprofessional.” OR “They are too permanent. What if you change your mind?” I’ve got 5 tattoos and have yet to regret any of them. I’ve got them all in locations that are concealable and sag-proof.

That sound you hear is probably of my parents weeping. Sorry Mom. Sorry Dad. Your little girl is a rockstar.  And this New Year’s Eve, I’m going to be rockin’ the a super smokey eye. Courtesy of Kat Von D’s Autograph pencil.

Korres10-Color Pencil Kit for only $32? Whoa!

Okay, seriously…I need these eyeliners in my life.

I’m already a mega fan of Korres (I’ve reviewed their mascaras) and I have been hearing nothing but spectacular things about their liners. And these kids are not only 100% natural, infused with jojoba oil and paraben/sulfate-free but you also get TEN full-size pencils for $32. I hope they hold up well on the waterline. But then again, I could also use them on the lower lashline.

Um yeah, I will be running to Sephora.com right now. Cop them quickly, sisters. They can only be found at Sephora for a limited time.

I can’t be the only one lusting after these. Be honest…you want to snag them too, uh?
