Veganize Your Lippies with Too Faced’s Newest La Creme Lipsticks

So remember that time I showcased those amazing and vegan Too Faced La Creme lipsticks? Welllll, the geniuses at TF have given us 4 more shades and I couldn’t be happier.

DSC_6185

Because you can never have too many lipsticks. And anyone who tells you otherwise ain’t a friend. I’m just sayin’.

DSC_6183

DSC_6176

Say ‘ello to the new lovelies. I surprisingly love every single one. I’m a bit of Picky Patty when it comes to lip colors but I seriously don’t have any compliments about any of these. This is just a quick feature of these babies since I’ve reviewed them before.

(L-R)
Bumbleberry, Loganberry, So Berry Sexy, Teddy Berry

DSC_6197

Bumbleberry is a darkened pink that has a nice work appropriate touch to it. It’s the kind of lipstick that you can wear comfortably by itself but then apply a lipliner for some added WOW-ness.

DSC_6219

Loganberry is a highly pigmented magenta that rocks my world. This is MY kind of pink. It doesn’t require anything else. She is dynamic on her on. This is definitely my favorite of the bunch.

DSC_6223

So Berry Sexy is a rich blue-toned rose that I find that will likely compliment anyone who wears it. It’s my second favorite of the bunch.

DSC_6225

Teddy Berry could have been a grandma shade but no, somehow it works. It’s the perfect lippy to wear when you want something without having to look TOO made up.

The Beauty Basics

Price: $21/ea
Availability: TooFaced.com
Do I recommend: Absolutely. I love everything about the La Creme lipsticks. The packaging is darling, they are super moisturizing and they seem to last quite some time on the lips. The color selection is great and I think these 4 are a great addition to the bunch.

Rock on, Too Faced! You done well. 😎

The Man Repeller GLOSSYBOX

DSC_6497

I haven’t reviewed a GLOSSYBOX since last year and it’s already March. Time freaking flies. Cliche, I know but it’s always really apparent when I’m playing around with beauty stuff. This month GLOSSYBOX partnered with blogger The Man Repeller. I’m not familiar with this blog so I’m not sure how it all went down. It appears to be a fashion blog that focuses on a lot of International fashion. If you have some insight on The Man Repeller, please let me know. In the meantime, let’s check out this GLOSSYBOX…

DSC_6500

As in all of the boxes, we’ve got a magazine that features season trends and whatnot…

DSC_6499

And then the main event…

At first glance, I was excited because for the first time in a while, it looked like this GLOSSYBOX contained items in which I was interested in using them allllll.

Le Metier de Beaute Replenishing Daily Solution -full size $225

DSC_6503

I’ve featured LMdB products before but I haven’t tried any of their skincare products. Aaaand for obvious reasons. They are a bit the expensive side. I haven’t tried this yet but I don’t think I want to. Because then what if I like it? Then I’ll be stuck having to spend THAT much on a skincare product? Nah bro.

Narciso Rodriguez for Her Eau de Toilette Spray – full size $77

DSC_6508

Okay, so we all know I kicked wearing perfumes to the curb years ago due to the fact that they give me migraines but even if they didn’t, I wouldn’t re-open my love affair for ’em with this one. It smells like old ladies. No bueno.

Living Proof Prime Style Extender (hair primer) – full size $20

DSC_6511

I’m not a fan of hair products in beauty boxes (mainly because they are almost never geared toward my hair type) but this is a decent sample size if I were interested in using a hair primer.

Vincent Longo Lipstain – full size $23

DSC_6518

Yay! I full size product. I love everything about this richly pigmented red lipstick. It is definitely the star of the box for me.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume mascara – full size $25

DSC_6528

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a mini mascara in a beauty box so yaaaaay for that. I’m a mascara snob in that I’d much rather use a full size mascara than a mini one but for a sample box, it works. Plus, I can use this mascara in my cosmetic bag for travels.

OPI Can’t Let You Go Liquid Sand nail polish – full size $9

DSC_6531

Fantastic choice! It’s not only a full size nail polish but it is OPI’s newest formula.

Fresh  Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum – full size $35

DSC_6535

I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m excited to. It’s a good pick for a beauty box because it’s large enough to let you try out the mask the serum at least 2-4 times.

Overall:
I always judge the value of a GLOSSYBOX by the variety of products and if what is given has a value that reaches or exceeds the cost of the $21 box. Looks like this one did a darn good job. We got a hair, nail, skincare, cosmetic and perfume sample. Two of the samples were in full size and together they cost more than the cost of the box. Not a bad box for this month. The lipstick and nail polish are true winners in my book.

Are you a GLOSSYBOX subscriber? What did you think about this month’s? Oh! And if you aren’t a subscriber, head on over to the site and sign up.

Gettin’ Vivid Lips Thanks To Target Beauty!

1_AuthorBadgeGLAMpink

Oh darlings – Spring is almooooost in the air. And no one knows this better than my retail BFF, Target. I love me some Target. It’s more than love, really. It’s like an obsession. Target isn’t even just a noun in my book. It’s a verb. I Target. Yuuup. It really is THAT serious. And look what I found on my most recent trip…

DSC_6864 First of all, like the Maybelline Color Whispers lippies, I pretty much need all of these too. Neon Red is perhaps one of my favorites of the bunch because it’s bold enough to rock confidently but yet it’s not TOO over the top. Not that I have a problem rockin’ over the top lip colors. 😎 I’ve been meaning to do a full out review of these but just know that if you are looking for a new lipstick shade and you aren’t bashful, you’ll love Neon Red. DSC_6871 I’m picky about my reds so I’m kinda shocked that I love this one so much as it has a little more orange in it than I would like. But I’m not complaining too much because darling, it is just THAT fierce. DSC_6874.NEF Yes, girl yes. And thank you Target Beauty for carrying these beauties. Have you discovered these in your Target? Target is all ready for Spring and even if the weather in your neck of the woods says otherwise, you can’t deny the Spring-y feeling you get from watching this beauty vid.

It’s Time for Springtime. “Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Target via Glam Media. The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions or positions of Target.”

Maybelline’s Color Whisper Lippies. Must Haul ALL.

Oh my, oh my! Have y’all seen Maybelline’s Whisper lippies? They’ve been in stores for some months now and I am in looooove with these kids. There’s 20 of ’em and I pretty much feel like I need all 20.

DSC_6824

Orrrr, at least 10. Maybelline’s version of the weightless and pigmented lip balm trend is rockin’ my world these days. The color selection is nice and the packaging is top notch.

DSC_6832

Look at them! Aren’t they all cute and sweet lookin’? Maybelline has given us 20 various shades of these and it is taking everything in me to not haul all 20 of ’em. No lie. What’s to love? Uhhhh, let’s make a list:

  • They’re affordable.
  • They are moisturizing.
  • They are easy to toss in a purse, suitcase or desk drawer.
  • They feel fantastic on the lips.
  • They are pigmented.
  • There are many shades and finishes to choose from.

These babies are amazing and I can’t stop bragging about them. And hoarding them. My sister goes, “Can I have one?” and I’m like, “NO!” I’m not sharing. I will not share. Sorry Charlie.

DSC_6834

Pictured from left to right are Cherry On Top, Pin Up Peach and Berry Ready. Since I’m a lover of super bright shades, of course I’m lovin’ Cherry On Top the most.

DSC_6854

I’ve got my eyes on some of the brighter shades but I can’t seem to catch ’em in stores.

DSC_6836

Ah well – I’ll just stick with lovin’ the ones I got. For now. If you’re like me and just HAVE to visit the Maybelline Color Whisper website to participate in the “Dare to Whisper” sweepstakes. You can select any color and share a whisper for a chance to win all 20 shades. All of ’em. Every single one. *faints*

Have you tried these before? Which one is your fave?

Maybelline New York’s Color Whisperℱ by Color Sensational¼ empowers you to make a statement in soft, sexy sheer color. Because sometimes a whisper says more than a shout. Dare to whisper for a chance to win fab prizes: http://www.maybelline.com/colorwhisper.aspx.

Maybelline Logo

My daughter’s middle name is Vaselina. After Vaseline Lip Therapy cocoa therapy.

Okay, I’m lyin’. Esposo would never forgive me. Although I am of the belief that if a woman has to go through the pain that is pregnancy, labor and delivery, she should be able to name her child whatever she wants to.

DSC_2933

But I would marry the man that thinks otherwise. Ha! Okay, sooooo basically it was getting kinda chilly here in Central Florida. I say “kinda” because to us, cold is like 60 degrees. Meanwhile, I know some of you gals have been dealing with freezing temps for a good little while or so. And this Floridian feels foolish complaining about our winter because it really isn’t a winter, ya know? But still. The colder air does a number on my skin, hands and lips. And for that reason, this mini Vaseline baby has been a staple in my cosmetic bag.

DSC_2930

Cute, ain’t she? Every dry skinned sista and brotha should have one of these. It just makes sense. I mean, yeah, I love balms like all beauty junkies, but there’s something nothing like Vaseline because you KNOW it’s going to work. Plus, I love how portable lil’ mama is.

DSC_2936

Everyone and their mama had those HUGE tubs of Vaseline back in the day so I’m lovin’ the portability of this smaller one. And it says it’s for the lips but don’t think I don’t slather this on hands as well. But because I’m cautious about germs, I usually wash my hands each time I dip the fingers in the tub. I highly recommend doing that if you have any lip products that require putting your fingers in ’em.

DSC_2942

Oh! The pores on my nose say, “Hiya!” So yeah. These are cute, adorable and practical. And only $1.99. If you spy these in your drugstores, I’d load up on ’em. Chances are you may be living in a cooler climate than me (unless you live in Caribbean, and if you do, I’m jealous) and you’ll be needing these babies.

Clinique Chubby Wubby Lip Colour Balms

Clinique does it again. They’ve managed to create an amazing lip product that I’m obsessed with. Their Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms have been around for quite some time but now Clinique has some reformulated ones that are more…intense. Yes, girl…yes! Intense color is definitely my preference when it comes to lip products. And um, let’s face it – when have you ever seen a super pigmented lip stick thingy like this? I haven’t!

DSC_4652

Soooo, I mean, what IS this stick of wonderfulness? According to Clinique, these lip balms are a blend between a moisturizing lip balm and a full coverage lip colour. And that definition is pretty dead on to me. I usually always apply a lip balm before applying any a lipgloss or lipstick but with these, I can just put it on and go.

DSC_4653

At $16 a pop, you get a good amount of product.

DSC_4655

DSC_4658

DSC_4662

And no, love…you don’t have to worry about having a massive sharpener for these. Simply twist that little silver knob at the bottom and you’re good to go.

DSC_4660

There are 5 gorgeous shades of these but I’m highlighting my favorites…

DSC_4667

Curviest Caramel is a soft pink that also leans more on the nude-y side. I didn’t think it would work well with my complexion but it’s pretty darn spectacular. I’ve been able to rock it confidently without a lipliner and all. Woot!

DSC_4690

Plushest Punch is a gentle magenta and this is my favooooorite. I find it to be a great everyday color. It also seems to be a bit more glossy than some of the other shades. Which is a nice little perk. 😎

DSC_4697

Heftiest Hibiscus looks orange at first glance but but really it’s more of an orange-y coral. It works well for me and it’s such a nice shade to have in the bunch.

DSC_4718

Grandest Grapes almost looks like Plushest Punch but it has more purple in it. It’s darker and richer and I find it to be a gorgeous pop of color on days when I’m not doing too much with the eyes.

DSC_4720

Mighest Maraschino is a red and bay-bee, it is really red. It’s got some blue in it so I think it’ll work well for all complexions. It’s the perfect “intro to red” for those who aren’t ready to wear super glossy red lips.

So let’s see, these are…
-Moisturizing
-Long-lasting (I can get good wear for about 4-5 hours)
-Nicely pigmented
-Easy to find
-In a number of diverse shades

Cost: $16/ea

Gorgeous Picks from Le Métier de Beauté

Remember that time I had that crazy awesome Le MĂ©tier de BeautĂ© Cosmetics makeover? I am still head over heels in love with this higher end brand and as promised, I’ve got some of their newest goodies to show off. Now. Keep in mind, that Le MĂ©tier de BeautĂ© is higher-end so their product prices aren’t for everyone. But for my girls who love luxe cosmetics, you’ll love everything about this brand. And y’all know…I don’t discriminate. I love drugstore and higher-end cosmetics equally. 😎 Word.

DSC_5371

Let’s rap on nail polishes first because that’s what most newcomers to the brand love the most. And it’s no surprise because everything from the color selection to the formula is just superb.

DSC_5383

DSC_5386

I do have 2 complaints about the polishes though. Their bottles are just so so as far as appearance and the brushes seem to be a bit on the small side. Or maybe I just have huge hands. Could be the latter. But still – I love everything about these 2 shades.

DSC_5389

Made in the Jade is a wonderful dark green that is opaque with only 2 coats. It’s a smooth cream and has a gorgeous shine without a topcoat.

DSC_5394

Cloisin-Navy is just that…a richly pigmented navy nail polish that will have any blue nail polish lover going nutty. And for good reason. It’s just dynamic. And I love that it’s a navy blue that doesn’t look black. These polishes retail for $18 a pop.

On the eyeshadow front, check out how beautiful Fire Lily is…

DSC_5409

DSC_5408

Gorgeous, right? This shade reminds me so much of MAC’s Cranberry except it has a tiny bit more shimmer to it. It is fantastic on the lid but I really like shades like this applied to my outer-V. Le MĂ©tier de BeautĂ©’s eyeshadows are pretty pricey at $30 but man, this one makes the price tag seem okay.

Aaaaand in the lipstick world, I couldn’t stop bragging about Le MĂ©tier de BeautĂ©’s glosses and this Orange Juiced ($32) is just niiiice.

DSC_5414

DSC_5416

DSC_5418

For one, it doesn’t feel like a typical gloss. It is insanely moisturizing (thanks to the Vitamin E) and doesn’t feel tacky on the lips. At the same time, you get a nice dose of shine and while the gloss is orange in color, it actually looks pretty clear on my lips with just a small bit of orange shimmer. Of course, if I were to wear an orange (or maybe red) lipstick, the orange in the gloss would really pop. It isn’t the glossiest lipgloss that I’ve come across but I would trade added moisture for glossiness any day. Can I get an Amen?

DSC_5425

And I saved the best for last because the packaging of Le MĂ©tier de BeautĂ©’s Kaleidoscopes are just goooorgeous.

DSC_5435

Priced at $95, these are definitely the kind of product that you have to LOOOOOOVE to even consider buying. Admittedly so, I’ve never been a fan of lip color palettes and kits. I think they are best suited for makeup artsits and traveling but for everyday use, I much prefer using lipsticks and glosses. There is something insanely wonderful about the lip colors in this Lip Kit though. Each shade is nice and pigmented and all have nice wear time. They end up being about $25 each so yeah, I do think the price point is a bit hefty – even for a luxe brand.

DSC_5431

The shades:

DSC_5438

DSC_5440

DSC_5444

Cinema: a velvety, ultra-rich true red.
Existential: sparkling mauve with rose effervescence.
Beau: deep berry crimson with matte finish.
Celluloid: a glimmering, creamy flushed red.

Celluloid is stunning. I’m not into having to use a lip brush every time I want to apply a lip color (I know…I’m lazy) but I loooove this one.

DSC_5476

So yeah, I am loving me some Le MĂ©tier de BeautĂ©. If you’re going to spend a good amount of money on a brand, you should want to be woo-ed and Le MĂ©tier de BeautĂ© does that. You can scoop up their products at select Nordstrom counters and Nordstrom.com.

Any Le Métier de Beauté lovers in the house? How beautiful is that Kaleidoscope?

Newest Stuff from LUSH

It’s been a quick minute since I’ve dabbled in some LUSH stuff so why not start the year off featuring one of my favorite brands? This go ’round I am highlighting some of their super cool Emotional Brilliance cosmetics, a chunk of smell-good soap and one of their new lip scrubs.

DSC_4859

Let’s start with the soap first. His name is Mr. Punch…

DSC_4926

A cute little sucker, isn’t he? Let’s run the stats on him…

Price:$6.95 for 3.5 oz
Availability: In LUSH stores and online.
What LUSH says: When you turn it upside-down, this soap looks like a delicious bowl of punch with fruit floating in it. We were inspired to make a fruity, tropical, boozy punch scent for this soap, and we did so with juniper berry oil, blackcurrant absolute, lime oil and a splash of gin. That’ll cheer you up on dark winter mornings! (source)

Now we all know that I’m not a fan of super fragrant soaps and I was so glad to know that this one is subtle. It’s got a nice and fruity smell but is indeed quite reminiscent of punch. I can smell every bit of the lime and blackcurrant. The smell dissipates quickly after lathering up but it’s just so adorable to look at. I’ve got it in my guest bathroom just because it’s THAT cute and I love how it seems to double as an air freshener.

DSC_4935

Next up is the yummy Popcorn Lip Scrub

DSC_4910

DSC_4925

Price: $8.95 for 0.8 oz
Availability: LUSH stores and online.
What LUSH says: Mmm! A simply scrumptious sugar and salt lip scrub for the holidays. We haven’t been able to keep our hands off this one. Lips can get particularly dry and flakey in winter weather, so it’s especially important to exfoliate. Use this one and keep your lips sweet, smooth and tasty all season long. The sweet and slightly salty popcorn flavor will make you want to lick this scrub right off your lips; but that’s okay, we do it too! (source)

I’ve featured LUSH’s lip scrubs before (here and here) but I so didn’t know that they had a popcorn version of this awesome scrub. And seriously, y’all…it really does taste like popcorn. Like all of LUSH’s lip scrubs, this one is total edible. It’s salty and feels so divine on the lips. Honestly, I could stash a ton of these and still never get enough. I think this is limited edition so better snag it before they run out!

And then there are LUSH’s new kids on the block, their Emotional Brillance Liquid Lipsticks…

DSC_4884

Price: $18.95/ea
Availability: LUSH stores and online.
What LUSH says: Grab some Glamorous or prepare for a Passionate smooch with LUSH’s patent pending liquid lip formula. Super softening Ultrabalm is the base, which is a simple blend of organic jojoba oil, candelilla wax and rose wax. Lips will be brilliantly coloured and left soft, smooth and deeply moisturized. (per press release)

These are interesting. For one, while the packaging is unique and flows with the LUSH concept, I’m not sure how practical they are as the applicator only allows you to go straight down in the bottle.

DSC_4874

Consistency-wise, they were a bit on the grainy side, have nice pigmentation and provide more moisture than the average lip product. Your best bet is to exfoliate those lippies before use though, because these tend to amplify cracks, splits and lines in lips. Each shade is actually an “emotion”.

Glamorous is a bubblegum pink.

DSC_4869

Strong is a blood orange.

DSC_4878

Confident is a deep plum.

DSC_4879

DSC_4898

These wear well and I found Confident to be the most suitable for me.

DSC_4906

So I don’t know – I’m still on the fence about thgese. I think they are darling but a bit overpriced. They are  fun and LUSH has a ton of shades that I think will suit both tame color lovers and the adventurous alike.

Whatcha think? Have you tried any of the Emotional Brillance cosmetics? And how awesome is that edible popcorn scrub?
