butter LONDON doesn’t just sell polishes. But you knew that…right?

So butter LONDON makes more than just nail polish. Did you know that? I knew but then I forgot. They do nail polishes so well that I’ve never really had to the desire to spend my money on any of their other products. Years ago I tried their lipgloss and it was so insanely fragranced that I vowed to never try any of their Lippys again.

Butter London

Well, that was forever and a day ago and I couldn’t NOT try these samples that I got in the mail. I’m no fool. bL has lips, cheeks and eye products but when you visit their site, you’ll see that it’s really the nail products that they display.

Butter LONDON Cosmetics

Not that I’m complain’. There’s a reason why I collect buttahs. But let’s take a closer look at some of their other beauties.

The Wink Eye Pencils are a lot like the eye pencils from many other brands. Nothing fancy but the formula is nice, smooth, build-able and it doesn’t budge. Like at all.

Butter LONDON Wink

My swatch of Cheerio (a gilded yellow shimmer) stayed put a few minutes after application. I don’t really know how to wear yellows well, but honey, I’ll be trying because this is gorgeous. It goes for $18.

Butter LONDON Cheerio

bL also has a nice selection of creamy eyeshadows. Okay, so honestly…I’ve never been a fan of these type of products. My lids are insanely oily and I have the toughest time getting these creamy products to adhere. Still, Sun Kiss WINK Cream Eye Shadow is nice and muted gold that will complement many skin tones. It also goes for $18. And back to the Lippys…

Butter LONDON Lippy

GOOD NEWS! They don’t smell like flowers on speed anymore. Yay! The subtle whiff of vanilla didn’t trigger a headache and all was well. It’s a thick gloss and like many sheerer glosses like this, the color in the tube does not translate on your lips.

Butter LONDON Lippy Twee

Yeah. I kinda hate when that happens. If the tube is pink, I want pink, bro! But hey, Twee is cool with me. The added moisturization kept my normally ashy lips in check and for that, I am grateful. Such awesomeness will run you $20. And then there’s Chuffed…

Butter LONDON Chuffed

I won’t spend too much time here because we already know how much I want bL to run for President, but yeah…this full coverage, shimmery bright orange is stunnning.

Overall, I think butter LONDON does well with cosmetics. The price points are a bit higher than I think they should be, but fans will appreciate the diverse colors, great formulas and nice collections that they come out with.

Two Reasons Why Urban Decay Should Give Us More Nail Polishes

Oh dang, Urban Decay…y’all should really do more nail polishes because these two here…

Urban Decay nail polish

Ohmigoodness. They are some kind of awesome. And I’m not just saying that because EVERYTHING Urban Decay makes is awesome. The formula of these are just spectacular and when I got press samples of them, I couldn’t wait to take ‘em for a drive. The outside packaging alone is fierce and wild and everything we would expect from UD.

Urban Decay nail polishes

These limited edition polishes retail for $15 which sits nicely in Urban Decay’s pricing profile. Bang is a bright orange with a subtle iridescent pearl and on the outside it looks all normal and meh.

Urban Decay Bang

But when it hits the nails, that subtle iridescent pearl really shines in and out of light.

Urban Decay Bang nail polish

Gorgeous, right? This shade has been on my toes for a good week now. And then there’s Chaos…

Urban Decay Chaos nail polish

I’ve always appreciated a good cobalt blue and this one doesn’t disappoint. Zoya has quite a few cobalt blue polishes but this one is nice because like Bang, it has that nice pearly iridescence sheen.

The Unexpected Greatness of Biore’s Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser

The other week I made an unexpected trip to my sister’s house in Orlando. With only minutes to pack before Grand Mama Clumps was ready to get on the road, I forgot just about everything. I forgot face wash, make-up, and lotion. Thankfully I was going to a house that was filled with all 3 of those necessities. Brittany had a sample of Biore’s Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser and I couldn’t wait to try it.

Untitled

I like to use the same face wash ( Cetaphil) because I am always fearful of different products breaking out my skin. I saw the Deep Pore Cleanser and I wasn’t too thrilled about it, but because I didn’t have any other face wash and I could NOT go an entire weekend without washing my face, I took a risk and tried it.

Untitled

From the moment I put it on my skin, I was in love. Charcoal naturally draws out all the impurities in your skin and gives you fresh clean feel and look. This is one of those products that I would use after a night of wearing heavy make-up or after a work-out when you are all nice and sweaty.

Untitled

It will open up those clogged pores and hopefully prevent pimples. That said, it’s great stuff and I’m so glad that I gave it a try! The Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser is available at ULTA, Target, CVS and drugstores nationwide for around $6.

Do you see yourself using a charcoal cleanser?

COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara

Okay, so let’s pretend that this mascara JUST came out. Not that it came out mannnny months ago, okay? I’m serious. I already feel bad that I haven’t done a mascara review in gee, I don’t know, 50 years but don’t make me feel worse by commenting that I’m reviewing a mascara that came out forever long ago. Mkay? Promise?

COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara

Very well, then. Let’s move on!

COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume by LashBlast

I received a press sample of this mascara so so long ago and it has finally worn me down. I’ve been testing it for a good week and some change and now I’m ready to talk about it!

Price: $10.79 from drugstores nationwide and at Drugstore.com.
Packaging (brush wand): 4 out of 5
Overall: 2.5 out of 5

What It Claims: “Flaunt the next big thing in lashes with Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara! The brilliant two-step Bombshell Boost System combines extreme volume with an intensifying top coat for big, sexy bombshell lashes. Step One: Apply the extreme volume basecoat. Step Two: Finish with the intensifying top coat.” (source)

The Truth: This is the biggest mascara that I have ever seen. The wand is huge!

What I Loved About It: I do like the inclusion of 2 wands. This always bodes well with me.

What I Didn’t Like: It’s so big and clunky. It makes it difficult to hold comfortably.

Overall: Okay. So. You girls could have warned me about this one. When purchasing this mascara, you do realize that it is larger than most mascaras. But this doesn’t really ring true until you open up the package and hold it in your hand. It is a giant mascara. I could see it being rather intimidating for first time mascara users. Or for clumsy mascara users. Seriously.

Let’s look at the wands…

COVERGIRL Bombshell Mascara

I will say that both wands are pretty stellar. #1 looks like it could be an identical twin to to the CG Lashblast wand. It’s the perfect wand for separating and lengthening lashes from root to tip. And #2, while not as plush as I would have liked for it to be, at first glance, it appeared to be okay in the volumizing department. The packaging says this about the wands…

COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume Mascara

I disagree as I don’t see how you can effectively volumize with such small bristles on #1, but hey! What do I know?

I do think most users will find some difficulty with using the wands because they are just so bulky and hard to hold comfortably. But once (and if) you can get past that, each wand is a pleasure to use. However, the end result, I found, was just so so. After using #1, I didn’t see any big difference in using #2. My lashes didn’t look bigger and bolder and I really could just have gotten away with using #1.

Formula-wise, you’ll be happy to find that I didn’t experience any smudging. Flaking came about hours later, but I’m thinking a waterproof topcoat mascara could seal that and bring along longevity.

I don’t know, CG, this just doesn’t seem like your kind of work. It’s not the 2-wands-1 mascara thing that I have beef with, but the girth of the wand itself and the overall performance, I found to be so un user-friendly.

Do I recommend it?: Those not looking for much in their mascaras will be okay with this. However, those of us who are looking big big and bold lashes will be disappointed. And having checked out some of the reviews online, it looks like many mascara lovers aren’t big fans of this mascara.

Have you tried this mascara yet? What do you think?

Zoya Magical Pixie collection

Spring is here and while I know a great deal of the U.S. is still dealing with frigid temps, this Floridian barely got any dealings with snow this past Winter. I was in NYC in February and that slushy snow stuff was enough to drive me back to my palm trees and blue skies. Zoya’s Magical Pixie collection is technically a Spring collection, but its sparkle and luster looks very much like a Winter collection.

Zoya Magical Pixie collection

Or is it just me?

Zoya Magical Pixie

Either way, I was excited to get the chance to review this stunning collection.

Zoya Lux nail polish

Lux is a rose quartz sparkle textured PixieDust with mega hex iridescent particles. I always said that if I’m going to wear a pink nail polish, it is going to be a stunning one like this babe. Tough to apply? Yes. Worth the effort? Definitely.

Zoya Cosmo

Cosmo is a silver crystal sparkle with the same mega hex iridescent particles as Lux. I think I like this one of the 3 because the rainbow’ness (c’mon…let’s pretend that’s a word) really looks well with the silver polish.

Zoya Vega nail polish

Vega is the blue opal version of Lux and Cosmo and comes off just as stunning as the other two. This shade comes off very winter-y to me.

I did some mild photo adjusting to these to help the colors shine as the original photos didn’t have them looking like how they look in real life. They are indeed extremely sparkly. This collections reminds me a lot of a collection that Wet ‘n Wild had some years back. The sparkle keeps them from looking “matte” and as you would imagine, these are pretty rough to the touch which can make removal tricky. Otherwise, I think they are fantastic and fun to play with for those who need some extra sparkle in their nail polish collection.

Each polish goes for $10 but you can get the entire collection for $30.

Are you into the chunky sparkle look?

How Can A Nail Polish Collection Be So…Fine?

Have y’all heard of the brand Cirque? I’m not sure if I’ve featured them too many times on Clumps but I’ve purchased several of their polishes simply because they speak to me. I’m not even kidding. Every time they come out with a collection, I just hear….”Buy me, buy me.” And I buy them.

They recently announced the launch of their newest collection and I just had to share a few of the pics that landed in my inbox. Brace yourself…

Cirque Panacea

Cirque Xochitl

Cirque nail polishes

You’ll have to visit their site to see the rest of the collection, but I am really trying to figure out if I NEED any of them. I mean, obviously…YES, I do need a few, but which ones? Holos do it to me every time. They are my favorite formula and I’m just putty in the hands of brands that come out with them.

They’ll be like “Here’s a holographic polish for $359 a bottle.” And I’m all…

Shut Up and Take My Money

And unapologetically so. Bop on over to Cirque to see the rest of this stunning collection. And tell your wallet I apologize.

Yeah.

IMAN CC Correct & Cover Powder to Creme Concealer – 5 Reasons Why You May Want To Buy It

IMAN CC Correct & Cover Powder to Creme Concealer

I used to think concealer was pointless. It seemed like an added and unnecessary step. Especially for those of us who really don’t want to spend hoursssss getting ready in the morning. But I received a press sample of this and once again, IMAN Cosmetics has won my heart with another amaziiiiing product of theirs and so I am giving you 5 reasons why this concealer is fantastic.

IMAN CC Cover

1. It stays put. Because the powder turns into a creme, you don’t have to worry about it oozing down your face. You can set it…and forget it!

2. The powder makes for fantastic application and the creme makes for great longevity.

3. A little goes a long way. Just a tap on fingertips provides enough product for me to conceal under both eyes.

4. It does a great job at brightening the area under the eyes. If I’m going to use a concealer under my eyes, I also want it to make that area appear brighter. This works!

5. It plays nicely with my powder. Some concealers are snobs and don’t like to make friends with foundations. Not the case with this stuff. She is such a sweet heart and complements my powders beautifully.

IMAN CC on hand

IMAN CC blended

Not too bad, huh? I’m wearing Earth Medium, the 4th spectrum of the 5 that IMAN is giving us. The only problem I have with IMAN Cosmetics is that sometimes it can be a bit difficult finding their products in stores. While some Targets and drugstores regularly stock IMAN stuff, others only carry a limited supply or nothing at all. Boo and double boo. But this is why the World Wide Web can be your friend. You can score this stuff at Drugstore.com for $15.

The one downfall? I wish the packaging for this was different.

IMAN CC Correct

I’m not sure how brands can effectively give us a powder to creme concealer but I’m not sure this one works. Do I use my fingers each time and risk contaminating the whole jar? Do I use a sponge-y thingie or Beauty Blender and not get the powder benefits? See the dilemma?

Either way, still another fantastic product from IMAN Cosmetics.

Green For St. Patrick’s Day

A few of the ladies in my Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida group have decided to get together and show off some of our green makeup looks. I almost wanted to do a pretty green eye shadow look, but uh…I got lazy. LOL! Maybe next year. Instead, I decided to show off one of my favorite green nail polishes…

Cult Nails Deal With It polish

Cult Nails’ Deal With It. I adore everything about this polish. Its subtle shimmer makes it wearable for all complexions. And it applies beautifully. As do most Cult Nails polishes. I wanted to do a nice design but the few design skills that I have developed over the years have somewhat disappeared.
