11 Ways To Use Coconut Oil

Ways To Use Coconut Oil

I love me some coconut oil, y’all. It is truly my bread and butter and is the IT ingredient in just about every way. There are so many ways to use coconut oil that my small list of 11 uses doesn’t even hit the tip of the iceberg. It’s the only product that not only lives in my kitchen, but also lives in my bathroom, bedroom and toddler’s room. Coconut oil could run for President and I’d be right there campaigning and spreading the word about how fantastic this glorious stuff is.

I’ve heard that some people don’t like coconut oil. A good friend of mine thinks the stuff is too greasy, smells too nutty and tastes awful in food. Whatever girl. I’m not hatin’ a sista but I’m hoping that she can one day see that light and fall in love with my beloved coconut oil.

My list of ways to use it is over at Mom.me

Your turn! How do you like to use coconut oil?

Lancome Grandiose Mascara review

Lancome Grandiose mascara

I love everything about Lupita Nyong’o. I hope she never fades away and continues to be in the spotlight. Dark brown girls hardly ever grace magazines that aren’t Essence and Ebony and I just think these beauty and fashion magazines could use some diversity. So keep winning, Lupita, my love. Please. I love her so much that I’ve got her on my vision board. I just find her spirit, drive and success so inspiring…

Lupita Nyong'o

Months ago I received a sample of Lancome’s Grandiose mascara and I put it to the test in early February. I don’t have many bad things to say about Lancome’s mascara. I think they are wonderful. I think they are consistently consistent when it comes to performance and I rarely have bad experiences with their mascaras. And this one?

Well…

5 Tips For Ladies Getting Started In Makeup

I love getting small gifts from friends, family and co-workers, but as a woman, those gifts tend to be either makeup or bath gift sets. Now that I think about it, I’m not sure if they’re trying to tell me something with those gifts or not. Anyway, if you’ve never really used makeup, you might be wondering what you’re supposed to do with 30 different colors of eyeshadow or 15 different shades of lip gloss.

No worries, I’m about to share with you the five best tips I received when I first started using makeup. Trust me, they make life much easier and your makeup will look amazing when you’re done.

Bulking Up Meat Loaf with Veggies

Veggie meat loaf
Vegetarians look away. If meat loaf grosses you out, look away. If you aren’t head over heels in love with meat loaf, look away.

I’m hoping I have some of you still looking. I get why people don’t like meat loaf. I mean, pretty much anything with the word LOAF in it that isn’t related to bread is a bit freaky. But in our attempts to get Elle to eat, we’ve triiiiied so many dishes. She actually really likes meat loaf. Like most toddlers, she runs from vegetables and like all overprotective parents, we try to find ways to incorporate vegetables in dishes that she already likes. I’m learning that the key with these crazy kids is to just psyche them out. With everything! Very deceiving, I know, but honestly…I never once said I know what I’m doing in this child raising thing.

I’m pretty much getting by with the hairs on my chinny chin chin.

And so our version of veggie meatloaf was born. Take your recipe and add the following…
