21 Apple Recipes – Un-Domestic Gal friendly

Okay, loves. I’m slowing down. Mentally and physically, that is. Esposo is working out of town for an entire month and if you know anything about our household, you know that he is the primary chef. Yes y’all. I clicked on the right Match.com profile because I managed to snag a dude that cooks everything that I eat at home. Lucky isn’t even the word. There’s really nothing bad about this setup except that when dude leaves, I’m screwed. And not because I don’t know how to cook. The fluff on my hips, thighs and tum tum ain’t all from takeout meals. I’ve become so incredibly spoiled and lazy that having to shop AND cook for my own meals is just, well, a tad bit overwhelming.

Toss a picky toddler in the mix and most days I’m tempted to whip up a protein green smoothie for both Elle and myself. I’m getting it together and between Pinterest and this list of apple recipes, I’m thinking we may survive!

21 Apple Recipes

I have a list of gathered recipes that feature…apples! From savory to deliciously sweet, there really is something for all palates. My goal is to recreate at least 3-4 of these in the next few weeks. Awhile back I whipped up homemade apple sauce (gracias ole’ Crockpot!) and it was such a huge hit in this house. The recipes that I’ve got my eyes on are in bold.

My Hair is Loving Cantu for Natural Hair!

This sponsored post is brought to you by Cantu and I got the opportunity to review Cantu products. Be proud of me, babes. I am still keeping up with my hair these days. I made a vow to spend more time caring for my hair and like clockwork, I’ve been doing deep conditioners and daily scalp massages. My hair is thriving and I couldn’t be happier.

Cantu Hair Products

You’ve heard of Cantu, right? I’ve been using their products for years and though the packaging has changed and the ingredients are different, it appears that they are even better than ever. I mean, the packaging alone is up my alley because they’ve got for Natural Hair on everything which tells me that these products are likely formulated for people with hair like mine. Yeah mon!

Basically, Cantu had me a hello! I received the following products to test drive. The ones in bold are what I’ll be talking about in this post.

Did I Tell Y’all I Was Having A Homebirth?

7 months pregnant

Sooo…pregnancy. I feel like it has been forever since I  clued the Clumps of Mascara family on what’s been happening with baking Baby #2. I want to say that this pregnancy has flown by but yeah…no. It hasn’t. Those first few months of morning sickness seemed like a century and now that I’m a good 31 weeks, of course life is in overdrive. Surprisingly, I’ve got baby items ready to go so I’m thrilled that at the very least, baby boy will have a onesie or two.

Physically, I’m dragging and it’s getting difficult to bend over but I’m keeping up with my daily stretches and squats and getting in some walks as much as I can. Elle and I hang out at the park where I attempt to chase her and I’ve got my eyes set on a chiropractic adjustment and a prenatal massage.

I’ve been blogging like a mad woman over at What To Expect and Mom.me but there’s one thing that I haven’t talked about just yet – my homebirth.

I’m having one!

Zoya Focus Nail Polish collection

Zoya Focus Nail Polish Collection

Fall is right around the corner and yours truly couldn’t be more excited. I always look forward to Summer until well, it gets here. Summer in Florida is like…not pleasant. Not even a little bit. I welcome the cooler breezes and lower AC bills. I welcome the changing of leaves and prepping for the holidays. Fall nail polish collections? LOVE THEM! They’re pretty typical for the most part but I love the richer shades. Zoya Focus is part I of Zoya’s Fall collection. Stay tuned for Flair!

Zoya Hannah

Hannah is a red that while lovely, I feel has been done before. That doesn’t mean I love it any less. It’s a classic red and it’s one of those reds that I couldn’t wear as a child. Take that, mama!

The Beauty Behind Ford’s Warriors in Pink

Warriors in Pink

Not gonna lie here, y’all – I am SO behind on cranking this post out and I have no one to blame but myself. The lovely people at Ford were kind enough to provide me with pretty pieces to highlight a very important initiative called Warriors in Pink.

Launched to provide support and conversation surrounding breast cancer, Warriors in Pink has recently celebrated 21 years and they’ve teamed up with Meal Train and Lyft to launch The Good Day Project. This online platform serves so many purposes but their main one is to help organize family and friends to bring meals to loved ones fighting breast cancer. Meal deliveries is one thing but they are going above and beyond by also helping set up errand services and childcare. Because, let’s face it – those battling cancer have so many things to worry about and to remove something as detrimental as food prep for the week can make all the difference in the world.

5 of the Best Beauty Items Under $10

Best Beauty Items under 10

I’m doing another post with my Makeup Wars sisters and this week we’re talking about some our favorite beauty items that just happen to be under $10 a piece. This is easy for me since I tend to lean more to lower-end cosmetics versus the expensive stuff. I can make more money in life and still have a hard time justifying a $40 mascara. Seriously, y’all. Luckily the babies that I’m mentioning in this posts are not only affordable but easy to find, too. Woohoo!

Best Eye Shadow Palette: Sleek Makeup – $9.60

I first discovered Sleek Makeup sometime last year and I’ve been hooked on them ever since. They recently sent me a box of goodies and I got to sneak a peek at a new palette. I haven’t tried them all but I do own thier  i-Divine AU Natural Palette and giiiiirl, lemme tell you. It is the real deal. I’m amazed at how cheap they are because the quality of the shadows are pretty stellar. Long lasting, extra pigmented and full of various textures, I have yet to come across a palette from them that I didn’t love.

Best Makeup Brushes: Real Techniques – $9.92

I’ve been on the Real Techniques bandwagon for quite some time and I’m still a rollin’. They can do no wrong in my eyes. They are the reason why I don’t even look at higher end makeup brushes. Sold online and at ULTA, finding a makeup brush that is efficient and lasts through tons of applications and washes couln’t be easier. I have a ton of their brushes but really it’s this Core Collection set that I can’t get enough of. I recommend it time and time again to  anyone who wants really good makeup brushes that are also affordable.

My Whiter Teeth Mission with Colgate Optic White + Giveaway

Colgate Optic White So we all know how I feel about dental care. I’ve talked about it a thousand times. So much so that I should probably start a dental care blog. Okay, I’m kidding but you get my drift. I’m pretty serious about dental health and keeping those teeth of mine white so I’m raising my little babe to be the same way. Here’s to hoping that she won’t ever get a cavity until she’s at least in her 20’s. A mama can dream, right? While you know the hippie girl in me is all about trying to find natural alternatives to just about everythiiiiiing, one conventional product that I don’t mind using is toothpaste. I’ve been rockin’ with Colgate for many years and when I got the opportunity to test drive their Optic White Toothbrush + Built-In Whitening Pen, I was all on board. And a little nervous, too. I suffer from sensitivity issues when I’ve used whitening products, namely the strips. I felt a little bit better knowing that the product didn’t have to sit on my teeth for minutes or hours at a time. Colgate Optic White Built-In Whitening Pen In fact using it is as simple as, well…brushing your teeth.  [Read more…]
