Girlfriend Time and Summer Cocktails with Alizé Passion

Allow me to preface this sponsored post by letting you know that yours truly did not indulge in the alcoholic beverages that you will see in this post. Yes, I know. It’s sad. I’ve put together these gorgeous drinks just to miss out on the opportunity to guzzle them. Don’t feel too badly for me because you better believe after giving birth, I’ll be toasting with a drank of…something. 😎

I’m not a big drinker (remind me to tell you about that time in college…) but I have a few girlfriends who love getting cocktails and fancy drinks. In honor of life…I decided to host a little get together with two of my gal pals with Alizé Passion drinks being the star of the show. This was no easy undertaking, y’all because I’ve never put together a drink in my life. It could not have been easier and based off of everyone’s expressions, I’m guessing I did it right. Woohoo!

Elle’s Back to School Ready with Carter’s

Fa la la la laaaaa to back to school season. Not gonna lie, y’all – I’m happy we aren’t there yet because WOW, it seems like a stressful time for parents and kiddos alike. But I remember this season when I was growing up and the best part about summer ending and school starting back up was shopping! Picking out a slew of brand new clothes and shoes was the total highlight for us. Brand new kicks, tops, backpacks and markers? Oh yesss…we thought we were living the life. Through Mom Central, I got the opportunity to style Elle with back to school outfits that she handpicked herself from Carter’s. Our little lady has a pretty groovy style profile at only 2 years old and I can’t wait to see how she continues to experiment with fashion.

Five Drugstore Concealers That You Should Try

Drugstore Concealers
Have you ever been really tired in the morning and had dark circles or bags under your eyes? Do you have imperfections all over your skin? Chances are you need a concealer to take care of those problems! I’ve tried a ton of concealers in my day and some have been really great and some have been absolutely terrible and I’ve felt like they haven’t done anything for me! So if you’re on the hunt for a concealer for you, I’ve made a list of my top 5 favorite drugstore concealers and maybe this list can help you decide when you go out to purchase one!
5. Black Opal Total Coverage ConcealerIt’s hard for a dark brown girl to find a drugstore concealer. The options just aren’t there. Black Opal, however, not only gives us a slew of shade options for darker skin but this concealer is dead on. It’s long-lasting, moisturizing and works very well alone or paired with liquid, creme and powder foundations.
4. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer: This is another concealer that I also do not use for under eye coverage, it is even thicker than the previous concealer stick I spoke about, but it is PERFECT for when I need to cover up a bit pimple or anything like that! I think it’s primary purpose, at least for me is when I have a random breakout and really need some heavy coverage. This is fairly affordable, retailing for only about $6.00.

Be back soon, my loves. I hate to leave my blog hanging but…life, ya know? I am currently processing through some hiccups and between that and being just a tad bit overworked, some things have to be put on the back burner.

Posts will resume in a few days.

Best Buy Gift Giving Made Easier – Techies Unite!

Best Buy gifts

This sponsored post is brought to you by Best Buy.

As you fine people know, I am about all things tech. I’ve been this way since I got my first Palm Pilot when I was 10 years old. The obsession didn’t end and I also married a man who loves tech, too. Between the both of us, we always feel like we have to have the latest and greatest in the tech world. Within reason, of course. Techie parents raising a techie kid means that Elle is more familiar with using a iPad to call a relative than she is with using a standard phone. I’m not sure if I should be proud or disturbed. Ha!

With baby girl’s birthday coming up, mama’s business going to different levels and the holidays rolling around, I’ve got my eye on techie gadgets now more than ever. Somehow, I managed to move about 3 minutes away from a Best Buy so when I’m not caught casually staring at techie things, you can find me on adding items to my Wish List. Oh, you didn’t know their site had a Wish List Maker? Where have you been, babe?

Back To School Finds For Those Not Going Back To School – Thanks

‘Tis the back to school season, y’all! I’m trying to navigate my way around this time of year because although Elle isn’t quite yet 3, in a few years, I’ll be joining the rush of parents who are tackling e-sites and stores to get the best deals. I was totally oblivious to all of this before I was a parent, but now it’s like a secret club that I’ve been drug into. I’m not doing much shopping for Elle, but I do like to keep an eye out on spectacular deals for my younger relatives and friends with littles. I like being a part of a village and help where I can. I’ve partnered up with to share with you some of the pretty sweet offerings that Sears has around this time.

I’ve talked about before and while they’ve got thousands of coupons for many retailers, Sears is really giving the love because right now they have over 30 coupons available AND 8% cashback.

What does this mean?

Not only are you able to rack in on the savings from purchases, but you will also get an additional 8% off! Nice, right?

Stylish Fits for the Pregnant Chicks – Thanks Sears!

I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. With Elle, I didn’t need to buy any maternity clothes. I gained very little weight and had such a small bump. This time around, I had to invest in maternity clothes at about 5 months. Crazy, right? I’ve had to attend a wedding, funeral, speaking engagement and conference all while rockin’ a bump so maternity style has been such a big deal for me these days. Luckily Sears has me covered in that department! Not only do they have fantastic deals for little kids and big kids who are headed back to school, but they’ve also got stellar deals for us maternity chicks who may be heading back to school – be it college or the boardroom. There’s a little something for all of us and I’ve found several pieces that I’m thinking fellow waddling women will love.

Sleeve Open Shrug

Shrugs rock whether you’re pregnant or not because they are incredibly practical. Perfect for the season, I love layering these on early in the morning while dropping Elle of to school and they are ideal in my super cold office. Comfy and accommodating to the bump, a good shrug is a staple for a pregnant gal.

Printed and Pretty

Just because we’re pregnant doesn’t mean we can’t be fly. So many dresses and shirts come in stripes and I always love seeing different prints and designs. This dress would be perfect either on the go and I’d love to pair it with a nice blazer to wear into work. You can also dress it down with a pair of strappy sandals.

Basic and Beautiful

Sometimes you need to keep it simple and there isn’t anything more simple than a basic tee that you can style up. I love wearing it with a blazer, cardigan or solo on days that are sweltering. They’re comfortable and stretchy for a growing bump and I am such a fan of accessorizing simple shirts like these.

Multi Purpose Style

I haaaate frumpy maternity wear so I always try to pick items that I’d likely want to wear if I didn’t have a bump. A flowing tunic is so up my alley and I can’t get enough of this one. Nicely fitted for a bump, I can see myself rocking this shirt even while NOT pregnant. Yeah girl, I’m not ashamed.

While maybe a bit too fancy for any back to school events, this formal dress is perfect for a wedding, gala or party. I’ve had to attend a wedding while pregnant and I so wish I would have seen this. The material highlights the bump beautifully but it still comfortable enough for pregnant mamas to get their boogie down on the dance floor.

What say you? Are you a fan of maternity wear?
