Giveaway! Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal bundle!

Remember that time I told the story about how I was in search for a natural deodorant that could control my Sweaty Betty steez? And then remember that time I found one?! Ooooh yeah, it’s been 4 months since I did that post and I am still rockin’ my Naturally Fresh deodorant. Instead of using the crystal, I’ve switched over to using the roll-on and it keeps me feeling so fresh and so clean without all of the harsh ingredients most deodorants on the market have.

And it keeps me from smelling like a goat.

Which is a good thing because:

I cannot tell I lie. I’m so serious. In better smelling news, the lovely folx at Naturally Fresh  Deodorant Crystal  have offered to sponsor a giveaway and I couldn’t be happier! One winner will win the following….

A Naturally Fresh bundle including:
-Roll-On
-Spray Mist
-MoistStick
-Crystal
-Footspray
-Pet Crystal

Considering the crystal lasts FOREVER, this bundle will probably be all you need in terms of deodorant for close to year. Enter below.

The Sweaty Betty Diaries: How a natural deodorant saved my pits.

I’ve had a love hate relationship with deodorant for as long as I’ve been allowed to wear it. Love because the stuff keeps me from smelling like a goat and hate because although it keeps the funk at bay, it wrecks havoc on my sensitive underarms. And then I got to thinkin’…the skin under the arms happens to be super sensitive. Why then are we using deodorants and antiperspirants with super harsh ingredients in them? Especially after shaving? A light bulb went off and to my beauty bin I went to retrieve a natural deodorant I’ve had for some time but stop using.

I received the Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal to review almost a year ago. I tested it for a good week but found absolutely no results. Fast forward to a few months ago and now you couldn’t pay me to go back to a traditional deodorant.

Here’s the thing about natural deodorants…you have to prep your pits for using them. No matter how hard you scrub, it is often pretty hard to remove deodorant from under your arms. I gave my pits a good scrubbing using baking soda. It took a good 5 minutes per pit, but I was ready! While a traditional deodorant have waaaay too many ingredients listed, this deodorant crystal has two. Dos. 2. That’s it.

My pits were already breathing a sigh of relief. The crystal looks just like, well…a crystal.

Cool, uh? To “activate” it, you wet the top and apply a generous amount under your arms. My issue was always that I’d be left with wet underarms but they dry pretty quickly. Ohmigoodness y’all…when I tell you this stuff works, I mean it WORKS. Aside from it keeping me from stinking, I found that it has kept my pits in so much better condition. My underarms are smoother and not as dark.

Pro’s

-It’s affordable. Retailed at $5.99, this crystal will last for months and months and months.
-It doesn’t have a fragrance.
-It is gentle enough for even the most sensitive of underarms.

Con’s

-It loses its power after 10+ hours
-It may be hard to find.

“Yo B, what do you mean it looses its power after 10+ hours?”

Good things don’t always last forever. The same can be said for this natural deodorant. I’ve been in situations where I went from smelling fresh to smelling less than pleasant in 3.2 seconds. What happened? The deodorant simply wore off. I have no shame in tellin’ y’all that me without deodorant is stinky. Funky. I mean, it’s bad… I have since learned and keep the Spray Mist version of this deodorant in my purse at all times. The Spray Mist is super small and tote-able so it makes transferring it to different purses a breeze. If I feel like I’m going to be away from home more than 8 hours, I head to the ladies room and attack the underarms. And bam…the stinkies stay away. I’ve also learned that I have to continue to thoroughly scrub my pits every time I shower. I scrub with a combination of my body wash and baking soda. A good cleansing creates a nice clean base for another fresh application.

I’m a believer and as much as I’ve loved my traditional deodorants, me and my pits are just happy rolling with Naturally Fresh’s Crystal Deodorant. I’ve heard many guys and gals say they’ve given up on the natural deodorant because they simply…don’t work. I say give ‘em another go ’round. If you’re interested in using gentler products under your arms, it may take some time and diligence on your part. Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal comes in crystal, Spray Mist and Roll-On. You can grab it at Whole Foods and other natural food stores as well as online.

Any natural deodorant lovers in the house? If you aren’t one, would you give one a try?

Thanks to LUSH’s Greench Deodorant, my feet don’t stink!

In case you haven’t noticed, it’s hot as a jaguar’s mouth outside. Unless of course you live in Johannesburg, South Africa or Angmagssalik, Greenland. In which case, I envy you like you wouldn’t believe.

Like okay…I know it’s ALWAYS hot in Florida but every year it seems to get worse and worse. But good thing I’ve got funk bustin’ products to keep me dry and from smelling like a foot. Take LUSH’s Greeench Deodorant ($9.95) for example.

This vegan powerful powder will work wonderfully for you and your favorite guy. It includes thyme and tea tree so your fella won’t have to smell like a dainty little flower. At the same time, it isn’t SO masculine that you’ll have your coworkers mistaking you for the boss man every time you walk by.

It’s been a few months since I’ve worn traditional deodorant so this stuff is right up my alley. According to LUSH, “Microfine magnesium trisilicate and sodium bicarbonate keep your pits dry and comfortable, free from discomfort and moisture. The Greeench can be used on armpits, backs, feet and anywhere that needs a bit of herbal assistance.” (source) Well, ain’t that just nifty? An all-purpose funk busting powder that I can pretty much dump on my head? It’s pretty epic, all right.

The Guy seems to love it more than I do. I love to sprinkle a bit of it in my shoes and socks. Sweaty feet is anything but sexy. But when it comes to using it on the pits, I find it be effective but the smell just isn’t for moi. If you aren’t a fan of the herbs rosemary, thyme, sage and clubmoss, then I’m afraid this powder may not be for you.

BUT, if you’re in the market for a healthier approach to bustin’ funk and don’t mind herb-y scents, this bacteria fighting powder will be right up your alley.

Products like this are why I really love LUSH though. They’re so innovative yo. LUSH is what dreams are made of.

Snag these from LUSH stores and online for $9.95. Have you or would you give this deodorizing powder a whirl?

Pretty perfumed pits – Thanks Lady Speed Stick!

It’s Springtime, lovelies! And that means I’ve been spending a lot more time outside. I love that I am able to get home after work and get a good run in outside before the sun runs away from me. And no antiperspirant works harder for me than Lady Speed Stick.

The newest scent, Enchanted Cherry Blossom may be a little too fragrant for me at first swipe, but it became faint throughout the day. Buuuut, it didn’t stop working nor did it irritate my sensitive armpits.

Whaaaat? I can’t be the only one with sensitive armpits. Go ahead and laugh it up. All I care about is fresh smellin’ pits. 8) In the market for a new deodorant? I’d recommend this one!

Sweaty Betty’s Use Certain Dri

Y’all know I keep it real. I mean…I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t. And so here it is.

I sweat profusely.  I know, I know. It’s so unsexy but it’s one of those genes that I blame on one of my parents. And I’m not saying which one. 8)

And so that’s the bad news. The good news is that I found something that can help!

…and this coming from a skeptic.

Lady Speed Stick giveaway!

Welcome to Florida.

Where we sweat all day. And night. I can’t even lie to y’all. I’m a sweat-er. And it’s bad. I walk outside and less than a minute later, I am pouring in sweat.

Okay, I’m exaggerating. That was a post-run picture, but still. Sweating is necessary but it’s sooo not sexy. Even worse is smelling like a 7-year old boy who played in dirt all day.

Which, *flips hair* never really happens. But only because I wear deodorant. Without it…O.M.G.

Here’s what Lady Speed Stick says about their newest kid on the block,

“The new Lady Speed Stick Stainguard with Stain Defense technology allows your body to comfortably soak up the summer rays without having to worry about unsightly yellow pit stains. In addition to the specially formulated yellow stain defense technology, Lady Speed Stick Stainguard also fights white residue and provides 24-hour protection from odor and wetness.”

Now I’ve had pit stains. Brace yourself…

But never yellow ones. And as far as 24-hour wetness protection? Hmm…not so much. But it did too pretty darn good in the odor department. Which is huge for me! I kinda dug the Speed Stick so much that I decided to give one away.

Degree Women Natureffects collection

Degree has won my heart over with the launch of their Natureffects collection. A few weeks ago Degree reached out to a few bloggers and sent us on a hunt to discover the meaning behind this collection. They sent us goodies representing each of the senses.

For smell, we got…

A beautiful bouquet of flowers. And for sight…

A pair of chic Tory Burch shades.

Taste…

A delicious orange and olive oil cake.

And for the sense of sound…

My girl Mary J’s newest album!

All of this led up to the Natureffects Collection

The fragrances Honeysuckle & Tea Tree Oil, Olive Leaf & Pink Pepper and Orange Flower and Cranberry are all inspired by nature and help heighten all of the body’s natural senses. Genius! Of course they all smell just divine. Orange Flower and Cranberry is my favorite.

And guess who performed at the FREE (!!!) launch party on March 22nd?

None other than Mary J. Blige in all of her fabulousness. I wasn’t able to attend the party so I played one of my favorite song by her and rocked out.

Kudos to Degree for not only releasing an awesome collection of deodorants and body mists but for connecting with bloggers. I also love their “daring to join forces with nature” theme. It’s true. Spending  some time nature does wonders for your mood. You can purchase the Natureffects collection anywhere deodorants are sold for $3.99.

Rock on, Degree!!

Photo of Mary came from Degree Women’s Facebook fan page. Join it here!
This review contains a sample product sent for post consideration. I was contacted my Degree and participated in their blogger outreach. I did not purchase the following gifts nor was I paid to write this post. Read our disclosure policy here.

Degree Sponsored SAG awards party

So guess who had a Degree sponsored Screen Actor’s Guild award show party? Clumps of Mascara did! And we had a ball! Guests walked in to a display table of goodies….

It was later decorated with tons of door prizes. I so forgot to take a picture of that though. As ladies t
rickled in, they made their way to the manicure table.

That’s right…Serendity Day Spa came to us and treated us to wonderful fabulous manicures. And uh, wha? Do we see one of my favorite nail polish brands?

Yep! They love Zoya just as much as I do.

The ladies gave the best hand/arm massages ever! We talked beauty stuffs before the SAG awards but before we knew it, celebs were walking the red carpet and we all headed over to see the fabulous dresses and suits.

Now I only watch one current show on TV. And that’s Glee. I was pretty much the only person shrieking when I saw Mark Salling as Puck hit the screen.

Like OMG, he is soooo dreamy! And as far as our favorite dresses and make-up looks…

Diane Kruger and her orange dress…

I love love loooove this color and the style of this dress. And she’s sporting a red lip with it? We loved it! And Monique, who won an award, looked fab too.

It’s not the most colorful dress in the world but we loved her hair and make-up. Is that a Sam Fine job? After more screaming over who was hot and who was not, it was time for the big deal giveaway. A $100 gift card to Macy’s. Everyone put their name in a hat…

Except me. Because, you know….that wouldn’t be fair. LOL!

Our 9-year old name puller selected none other than Meagan from Lipstick Mixtapes. Look at her…getting her nails done all innocently.

Little did we know that she would strategically place her name in the hat so that it would be pulled. Yeah…we were hatin’. But leave it to sugary cake therapy to make us feel better.

Too bad we were too tired to play Taboo after the awards show. Ah well…maybe next Saturday!

And as far as at Degree’s Ultra Clear Satin? Loves iiiit!

Disclaimer: Degree sponsored this event in that I was provided a gift card to purchase necessities for the party. We were sent movies, their new Ultra Clear Red Satin deodorant, a Macy’s gift card to raffle and manicures by Serendipity Day Spa. I organized the event but was not paid to write this post.
