Beautifully Disney – The Makeup Line of ALL Makeup Lines

I love me some Disney. I mean really love is an understatement. Big kids know what I’m talking about. There’s something special about Disney parks, characters and movies. I didn’t think I could fall in love with Disney any more until they launched a makeup line called Beautifully Disney.

Beautifully Disney makeup

Um, yes. This is indeed a real thing and a few months ago I had the pleasure of attending a press event that caught me up to speed about the brand. First of all… “WOW!!! Is this real life?” It is. And I am so happy to be in this life where Disney has an awesome and affordable makeup line. And by awesome, I mean that the quality is definitely up to par. Yes, yes, I love my Disney but I also love keepin’ it real. I was just wishing on a star that the products would be amazing, spectacular and that they would leave me in awe. And guess what? They did.

Beautifully Disney eye shadow

From the packaging, the names of the palettes, polishes and lipsticks, the brand nailed it. It is everything that a Disney and beauty lover would want. If you’re thinking that the brand doesn’t look “kiddy” that’s because it isn’t intended for kids. Beautifully Disney is a line is for the older Disney lover, the Disney admirer who may have forgotten her lipstick at home and the beauty aficionado who loves Disney and wants an memento that she can use on a regular basis.

The dark and rich jewel toned packaging looks and feels sophisticated. The color choices of the lip glosses, nail polishes and eye shadows are mature, yet trendy and can be fitting for the college-aged girl to the hip Grandma who loves Disney as much as her grandkids love Disney.

The lippies…

I didn’t anticipate liking these as much as I did. I thought they’d be watery, contain a ton of fragrance and have wimpy colors. Wrong! These fragrance-free lip glosses are moisturizing and pigmented. They last relatively long for a gloss and I’ve spotted a purple, baby pink, shimmery plum, coral and silver gloss. I am LOVING the shade options!

The nail polishes…

Beautifully Disney nail polishes

Ohhhh, the polishes…they’re wonderful! Cremes dominate the scene but I love that there are a few glitters and shimmer polishes. You’ve got your staple colors like reds and pinks but for us adventurous nail polish lovers, there’s a baby blue, teal and mustard.

Eye shadow palettes…

The eye shadows are stunning. Housed in graphically attractive heavy duty cardboard palettes. Most of the shades have a bit of shimmer but the shimmer is very forgiving and subtle.

Priced between $9-$40, the high-end line is more than impressive. New collections are launching every 3 months and I even got an insider tip that Beautifully Disney will be launching a mascara soon. *squeals* If you don’t think you’ll be in Orlando and at Downtown Disney to pick these sweet goodies up, you can snag ‘em online.

Gotta love that Disney magic!

*Disclosure: These products came in a gift basket that was gifted to me at a Disney press event.

Senses – A Disney Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

A dream is a wish your heart makes…
When you’re at a Disney spaaaaa….

Okay, I’ve totally remixed the song but for good reason. There really isn’t anything like an experience at a Disney spa. I had the opportunity to visit one last month and I am still singing praises. I grew up going to the Walt Disney World Parks but there’s another side to Disney that I had yet to uncover; it’s the serene, relaxing, indulging side of Disney. It’s the side that says “Let them go to the parks. You stay here and get pampered. You need it. You deserve it.”

Senses Spa - Disney

And it’s true. Because I did need it. This spa experience will forever be etched in my mind because it was not only my first Disney spa trip but it was my first one after giving birth. There really isn’t any better reason to visit a spa, am I right?

First things first, Senses – A Disney Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. There is also one at The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The one at Saratoga Springs Resort is nestled nicely near the resort’s majestic pool. Upon entering, you’re greeted with sweet spa trinkets, cosmetics from the Beautifully Disney spa line. After checking in your hostess leads you up the steps and to a tray of drink options. Senses plays well…on all of your senses. It starts with the sense of taste. After enjoying a few sweet sips of fresh fruit juice, you head over to the locker room and then the Relaxation Room.

Senses Relaxation Room

The Relaxation Room was one of my favorite experiences because it felt as if I was transported into a quiet oasis where nothing mattered. Platters of spa muffins and spa water (water infused with basil and cucumbers) greeted me. I sipped on the water, closed my eyes and propped my feet up on one of the lounge chairs. I didn’t ever want to move. My name was called and I made my way to the massage room where my EXCELLENT masseuse asked me questions about any problematic areas. After the consultation he left to allow me to get comfortable and once he came back he had me take 2 deep breaths from the lavender oil on palms of his hands. The 50-minute swedish massage was more than great. It ended far too quickly and I didn’t want to get up.

After exiting the room, my masseuse had a post-massage jelly and cup of water for me. He led me to the mani and pedi room where I had my hands and feet rubbed to perfection. My wonderful manicurist gave me Mickey Mouse ears on my nails (you know…because I’m 5-years old at heart) and I was sent out into the world a changed woman.

The Senses really taps into…your senses. From the relaxing and melodic tunes, the various tastes that are being presented to you, the gentle touches of the professional spa staff; it was truly a thorough experience. But of course, this is what you expect of Disney. And as always, they never disappoint.

If you find yourself in the Walt Disney World area and in the need of some pampering, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Senses. It’s the next best thing to hugging the Mouse.

*Disclosure: I was a part of  a press trip where I received free treatments. I wasn’t paid to write this post but would you really have to pay me to talk about the awesomeness of Disney? Yeah…no.

The NEW California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a food post, huh? Well…food at a restaurant post. My paleo and dairy free life makes eating out out super tricky and so I tend to just eat at home. But during a press trip, I was offered the opportunity to visit the brand new California Grill.

California Grill

As a Florida native I’ve stayed at the Contemporary Resort and I’ve eaten at California Grill before. Both visits were years ago so I was beyond excited to see how California Grill revamped themselves. The new decor is amazing and the floor to ceiling windows are even more amazing.

Cali-Grill-Dining-Room

That’s a press photo from DisneyFoodBlog.com but honey, isn’t it beautiful? I love open kitchen restaurants because if you’re nosey like me, you can run on up and see what’s a cookin’. Or am I the only one that does that? I spent a lot of time hanging out by the sushi bar.

Sushi bar

I’ve been eating a lot of sushi these days and the California Grill’s sushi bar is top notch. Sushi artists (or at least they should be called that) wrapped up gorgeous and delectable rolls of some of the best tasting sushi I’ve ever had. I helped myself to plenty and didn’t feel guilty about it either.

Sushi on plate

But aside from the sushi, the restaurant offers a variation of top notch entrees, cocktails, desserts and fantastic meals from their brand new wood fire oven. Vegetarians, vegans, paeleo minded and the dairy conscious won’t have any problems dining at California Grill as the menu options are diverse and fresh. I couldn’t help myself and had a baby version of the Caramel Popcorn sundae and I could not have asked for a better sweet treat to end the day.

Sweet treat

One of the best sweetest aspects of California Grill is getting the opportunity to view Magic Kingdom’s Wishes fireworks show from outside on the observation walkway. I left before the fireworks started but I’ll be back because I heard that was truly a sight to see.

If you think you’ll be visiting the Walt Disney World area soon, make a reservation at California Grill. Esposo and I have a wedding anniversary in November and I’m thinking this would be the perfect place to re-live the very night we became man and wife. By the way, we spent the night at Disney World.

Disclosure: I was provided samples of dishes at no cost but I was not paid to write this review. I would have written it anyway though because everything was THAT good and I’m obsessed with Disney. Yep.

That Time I Had a Spa Weekend At Disney World.

SPA

‘Scuse me for my disappearing act. I had a fantastic spa weekend at Walt Disney World. I posted about it on Instagram and I am seriously re-living every second. Disney knows how to treat a gal and I am counting down the days until I visit the Senses spa again.

Give me a few days, mkay? I’ll be around on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook but my thoughts are mush right now so forming a complete blog post may be challenging.

Ciao loves!

Yummy Food from Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival

Back in the day I used to consider myself an amateur photographer. My specialties were landscapes, babies and food. First trimester sickies robbed me off that hobby but now I’m back! I’ve pulled out my cameras and now I can’t stop taking pictures. Such was the case when I went to Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival last week.  I am totally one of those annoying people who take picture before they eat. But come oooon. Just look at that waffle!

If you’re an adventurous food lover, you HAVE to visit’ Epcot’s Food & Wine festival. Several kiosks are located throughout the park that allow visitors to purchase yummy eats (and drinks) inspired by various countries. And the food is AMAZING. Oh! That waffle? It came from Belgium. It’s a Belgium Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream. I love waffles and I didn’t expect much but it was absolutely delectable.

BRAVE – The Movie: And why you HAVE to see it…

Brave was soooooo good. I could really end my review of this film right there but y’all would be mad at me. Seriously though – it’s no surprise that I’d love this movie. What’s not to love about a movie of a cute little curly redhead with a powerful voice and a mind of her own?

I got the opportunity to see a press showing of Brave last week and the movie totally exceeded my expectations. I mean, yes I knew Disney would hit it out of the park (don’t they always?) but Brave’s storyline was completely different from any other Disney movie I’ve seen. And don’t ask me how many I’ve seen. Probably more than you. Just sayin’… :P

I saw the film in 3D and if you’re like me, you’re probably like “Ugh…not this 3D thing again.” I’m not a fan of watching movies in 3D because after 10 minutes, my eyes start crossing, I get all nauseous and it just gets to be uncomfortable. Luckily, Pixar and Disney have masterfully created this film so that while you’re watching it in 3D, you don’t have any thing popping out at you. If anything, the 3D effect brings the picture to life but in a real and beautiful manner. I thoroughly enjoyed not having bows go a flyin’ over my head in 3D.

The story. Ohmigoodness, the story… while not to give too much away, I will say it was refreshing that the true love story wasn’t between a price and princess. I’m a lush, so yes, I adore those kind of movies but Brave focused more on the love between a Mother and daughter. Princess Merida just wants her Mom to listen and you know how Moms are. Oftentimes they do more lecturing than listening. Their interaction reminded me a lot of how my Mom and I can be so um yes…I was or was not caught dropping tears during the movie.

The beauty of Scotland was captured in such a spectacular way that I was ready to start planning a trip. Humorous and heartfelt, Brave is the kind of movie that even those of us without kids will enjoy. The kiddies will enjoy it too of course. There were a few dark and scary scenes that may upset little ones but nothing they’ll remember throughout the movie.

Brave is currently in theaters so you’ll definitely want to add it to your summer blockbuster “Must See” list.

Any big kids out there see Brave yet?

*While Esposo and I received press passes to view this movie, all opinions are my own.

Amor de Lacquer: OPI Minnie Mouse collection

This collection excited me to no end. I am an ENORMOUS Disney fan. Not so much of the color pink but the fact that my girl Minnie has her own collection speaks highly for me. The Mouse and I go way back.

Yeah, literally. I was 3 or 4 years old in that picture and I am still fanatic about Disney. I actually saw Minnie Mouse a few weekends ago.

Cute, ain’t she? I forgot to congratulate her on her new line. In fact, they wouldn’t even let me get in the streets and dance around with her. Something about that only being allowed for kids. Pfft. I AM a kid, thank you very much.

If You Moust You Moust is a soft pink cream. It’s nothing terribly unique about it. And the name is kinda weird to me. I see where they’re going with the whole “Moust” thing but still…it’s weird. Ha!

Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It is a confetti light pink that is complete with teeny tiny hearts. It’s absolutely adorabo. Layering those hearts can be quite the feat but once you’ve mastered it, you’ve got a cutesy manicure. The added hot pink shimmer adds some nice sparkle to the mix too. I’ll definitely be pulling this out around Valentine’s Day.

I’m All Ears is a pretty magenta shimmer.

The Color of Minnie is an interesting shade of red. One that I can actually appreciate it. It’s a micro shimmer that applies beautifully and has a heavy dose of pink in it.

Must Haves
-Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It. If you don’t have any heart-sy polishes, this one is just so cute.

Formula-wise these polishes were great. I applied 2 coats for each polish. Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It can be a bit on the thick side. The hearts also tend to sink to the bottom of the bottle. Turning it upside down before use should help the hearts spread evenly. I would have loved to see MORE polishes in this collection. Minnie deserves it, don’t you think?

How are you feelin’ about this collection?

20+ Years of Lovin’ Disney

I’m the biggest Disney fan ever. And I do mean ever. If a Disney movie came out in the 90’s, chances are I know all of the words to the songs. I’ve been to both Disney World in Florida and Disney Land in California. I love Disney so much that I’m considering getting married (you know, after the whole proposal thing) at the Disney Wedding Pavilion. I recently went to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and took a few pictures.

Hit the jump, fellow Disney lovers!
