Milani COLOR PLAY Felt-Tip Liquid Pen – For Eyes, Face AND Body!

Ooooh weeee, looky looky! Milani has felt tip eyeliners and they aren’t only for eyes and face, but for the body too! Look!!

Okay, first things first – I am the worst at using these felt tip eyeliners. And if you suck at using ‘em too, then join the club. When it comes to these babies, practice makes perfect. And if it takes 5+ years to get it right like yours truly…then so be it! But if you like to invest in products that you have a hard time using anyway (ahem, also like me!) you may want to take a peek at these newly launched COLOR PLAY Felt-Tip Liquid Pen by Milani Cosmetics.

They retail for $6.99 a pop which I find to be a modest and average price point for drugstore eyeliners like these. And they come all pretty colors toooo.

(L-R)
Jaded Edge, Gray Strokes, White Line, Blue Definition, Pink Point, Black Line

Each liner has nice fine points and like most felt tip liners, you can control the width of the line by turning the angle of the pens. I played around with each one of these and the color payoff for each is nice!

My Faves:
-Blue Definition: This blue is awesome! So vibrant. Will definitely be using this regularly.
-Pink Point: A pink that isn’t so pale? Nice!
-Black Line: Because you can never have too many nice and smooth black liners.

I’ve got the gift of written gab but I am so not an artist. I imagine you can do some pretty elaborate designs with these liners but all I could crank out was a wimpy design on the hand…

Buuuuut I did come up with a decent no big deal look on the lower lash line.

These liners are super smooth and precise. They’re water-resistant not water-proof so if you plan on using these on the eyes, an eyeshadow primer will help the liner last longer. If they get hit with a splash of water though…

…the liner may smudge and smear a bit. Still. For $6.99, these are awesome.

Another win from Milani! These are currently sold online and you can get them anywhere Milani products are sold.

NYX Cosmetics Noir collection – eyeliners galore!

You may catch me without wearing mascara. But honey, I guarantee you you won’t catch me in the streets without some eyeliner. I ain’t lyin’. Eyeliner gives the perfect definition for my otherwise mediocre eyes. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not one of those women who can’t be seen without makeup and feel ugly without it. But eyeliner? Well, it’s cosmetic king in my book. Whiiiiich is why I was lovin’ that NYX launched an eyeliner collection.

What NYX says about the collection:

“A black eyeliner collection that consists of ALL types! Choose your beauty ammunition – from skinny to big and glossy to matte, it’s your world! The collection carries eight different formulations of sleek black eyeliners, from matte, satin, glossy pencils to liquid and powder eyeliners. Drape your eyes with one or all of these waterproof, smudge-free formula liners. The collection offers various types of eyeliners that applies smooth and effortlessly for lasting and dramatic wear.” (source)

Did you read that? EIGHT different formulations, girl. I mean, seriously…who knew there were that many eyeliner formulations? Dang. I’ve only got 3 here but they’re fantastic and you betta believe I’ll be scooping up the other 5 one of these days. You know…for beauty research. Not to hoard. Yeah, research.

Liquid Black Liner

If liquid eyeliner was a high school class, in my book, it would be Chemistry. And chile, I loathed Chemistry. My teacher was decent, and learning the periodic table and all that jazz wasn’t THAT hard but I could never “get it”. I feel the saaaaame way about liquid liner. I try and I try and I’m still D’ing my way out. Sad, uh? According to NYX, “The Liquid Black Liner is enclosed with a distinctive applicator that makes precise lining and defining of the eyes smooth and easy.” And yeah, it ain’t THAT hard. But my theory with liquid liners is while it may take a ton of practice, some of us will just be better at it than others. On a good note, this liquid liner has a reallllly nice and precise tip.

Which SHOULD make application easier, but I dunno…I’m just not as good with application as I’d like. Formula-wise, I love how this liner wasn’t as watery as some of the others I’ve come across. But at the same time, it wasn’t thick either. I got a good 8 hours of wear time out of this liner before it started flaking out on me. But who really needs a liner to last FOREVER, ya know?

Um, I won’t tell you how long it took me to do that. I shall reward myself with a cookie.

Satin Finish Black Liner

“Make your eyes stand out with the velvety soft liner that stays put.” says NYX. Well alrighty then. I’m down with that. They aren’t lyin’ about the velvety touch. The formula of this liner feels super super soft. In fact, it’s so soft that it would probably do better on the lower lash line than on the waterline. It didn’t last as long on my waterline; probably because my eyes tend to water up throughout the day. One must be verrrrry careful with sharpening this as too much sharpening can result in bad breakage of the liner.

Don’t ask me how I know. Just trust me on this one. But it does give a nice and rich black finish. I applied it on both the waterline and lower lashline here.

Matte Black Liner

I can gets down with the liquid and satin liners but let’s face it, matte is where it’s at. A good matte eyeliner can last all day AND all night. Ya know…if you forget to wash your face or somethin’. I am lovin’ this matte liner. The formula is perfecto and I appreciate the packaging. I’m all for liner that sharpen themselves yo. The longevity of this liner is out of this world. In.love.

Look like I’m missing the kohl kajal black liner, glossy black liner and powder black liner. I gotta step my game up. Anyway, these only cost $6 so kudos to dressin’ up the eyelids without breakin’ the bank. You can get these from NYXCosmetics.com, Ulta.com and Ulta stores nationwide.

What’s your favorite kind of liner?

No Longer Walking Dead with Maybelline’s Eye Studio Ink Pen Eyeliner

Mascara? Yeah, whatever. Eyeliner? Can’t leave home without it. I know, I’m pathetic. I never wanted to be one of those gals who couldn’t leave the house without makeup but I look like The Walking Dead without eyeliner. And I’m not even kidding. A little bit of black eyeliner gives my eyes definition and makes me look more awake. But liquid liner?

Liquid liner is the bee’s knees and butterfly’s wings if you know how to use it correctly. Don’t even think about asking me for tips, dude. I am still struggling with applying it. Maybelline is hitting us with a new one and by George, I think I like it!

The tip has a darn good point.

Which is a good thing. A liquid eyeliner with a dull point or a point that collapses too easily can make for ineffective application. And ineffective application will have you looking like a 2nd grader did your makeup. Which is no bueno. This black liner looks really black. Which I love.

It lasts throughout the day without many problems. It did flake on me after I rubbed my eye a bit, but I’m used to that happening with most eyeliners.

Pro’s
-Affordable. Depending on where you go, it’s between $6.99-$7.99.
-It has a nice and intense black color.
-Nice point-y tip that makes it easy to draw both thin and thick strokes.
-Long lasting.

Con’s
-Can flake if you rub your eyes.
-Dries out if you leave the top off for a few minutes.

Have you seen this eyeliner around? Whatcha think?

Maybelline’s new wicked cream pencil!

Yours truly needed a black eyeliner and can I be honest? I am quite the eyeliner snob. While I’ll try almost any brand, I really only stick with Urban Decay’s eyeliners for everyday use. They just haven’t failed me. But alas my laziness and cheapness has prevented me from driving to Sephora and spending almost $20 on said eyeliner. Instead, a recent stroll through Walgreens had me swooping up Maybelline’s newest eyeliner. After all, it was only a good $7 or so.

These kids come in 6 shades; ranging from a gray, to a purple, silver, gold, blue and black. I so meant to grab the black (Midnight Master) but ended up with the Gray (Coal Commander) instead. Opps. I suppose the gray cap was a ringer, uh? I know. I’m so smart.

So yeah, Coal Commander is little grayer than I’d like. See how much darker Urban Decay’s Zero is compared to Coal Commander?

I’m one of those Must.have.dark.eyes kinda gals. For no reason in particular. I just feel like the darker the line, the more awake and sultry I look. *bats lashes* Funny thing about this liner though…when I applied one eye with Coal Commander and the other with what was left of my Urban Decay Zero, from far away, I couldn’t tell which eye had which. Can you tell?

The right eye (your right) is rockin’ Coal Commander. So despite my “I wanted black, not gray.” whines, I wasn’t too disappointed at CC’s payoff on the waterline. As you get closer, you can see a bit of shimmery sparkles in there.

My poor eyes can only do matte liners on the waterline. Anything with a sparkle or shimmer to it has me itching like mad. Coal Commander was no exception. For the sake of beauty reviews, though, I kept the liner on just to see how well it would hold up throughout the day. It did…really well! It lasted from 7:00 a.m. through a hardcore lunch break workout and right on through post-work meetings. Impressive, uh? Not a bad eyeliner if you’re in the need for a new one. Because of my super sensitive waterline area, I won’t be using it there anymore but I’l definitely be applying it on the lower lashline.

Way to go, Maybelline. Way 2 go!! Get more deets about this liner on Maybelline’s website. Oh! And watch the vid too.

Kat Von D and B: Black liner and tattoos

Kat Von D and I have something in common. We both love tattoos. Yeah, I know…some people are all like, “They are so unprofessional.” OR “They are too permanent. What if you change your mind?” I’ve got 5 tattoos and have yet to regret any of them. I’ve got them all in locations that are concealable and sag-proof.

That sound you hear is probably of my parents weeping. Sorry Mom. Sorry Dad. Your little girl is a rockstar.  And this New Year’s Eve, I’m going to be rockin’ the a super smokey eye. Courtesy of Kat Von D’s Autograph pencil.

Physician Formula’s Gel CreamLiners

Girl, lemme tell you…since I’ve been on this “Green Kick” as some of my friends like to call it, I’ve been all about green-ing up my cosmetics. Now, I’m not going to lie to you and tell you that all of my products are natural, organic and comes from the earth. But I am slowly making changes and being more aware of the products that I do use.

I’m finding that swapping every day products with greener ones is the best way to green-ify. I’ve done it with pencil liners and I am so glad that I can officially retire my MAC Fluidlines.

Physician Formula’s liners are epic.

Eyeliner poppin’!

It is no surprise that I love eyeliner. I almost love it as much as I love mascara. In fact, I almost called Clumps of Mascara Eyeliner Smudges.

Nahhh, I’m kidding. But eyeliner really is one product that I think every lady should have in her stash. A quick line on the lower lashline can do SO much for a look. Take this look for example….

I was rushing for work (per usual). To make my freshly threaded brows stand out, I applied a bit of matte eye shadow under them. This brightens up my eyes. I grabbed a volumizing mascara to make my lashes out. And then I grabbed an aqua liner (Urban Decay, baby!) and applied it to my waterline.

Wait….how do you do that again, B?

There’s the video for review and this post will give you a good amount of tips so that you too can get your eyeliner poppin’!

Rock on, homies!

L’Oreal HIP Color Chrome Eyeliners

I loooove these thangs, y’all.
Yes I said thangs. You know it’s serious when you have to bring out the slang. HA!
No really. I am so glad that Walgreens had these babies BOGO (buy 1, get 1 free). The Color Chrome eyeliners are fairly new to the L’Oreal HIP family. At first glance, I was skeptical about them. I’ve been disappointed by a few drugstore eyeliners that claimed to give you rich and long-lasting color. But I’ve also been pleased by a few too so I definitely wanted to know where L’O HIP stood.
Check out the kids I took home….
(Top-Bottom)
Green Flash
Gold
Silver Lightning
If you are looking to add metallic liners to your make-up stash, you will LOVE these. I found that you can even make them wearable for conservative work looks. I’ve got green flash on my waterline.
Gold Charge and Silver Lightning are beautiful as well!

They apply extra smoothly–no worrying about tugging on the eyes.

Are they waterproof?
Well, I guess you’ll have to watch my video to see.

Not bad for $9.99 but even better for buy 1, get 1 free. Love love LOVE these kids. And I think I’m going to grab some more.
Have you tried them yet? Do tell!
