Beauty Review: Iman Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup

I have a special relationship with this inanimate object. Had it not been this foundation’s existence, I would have never had the opportunity to meet Iman. Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup will always have a special place in my heart.

And my face because it’s actually pretty darn good!

This coming from a chick that never wants to wear foundation because she fears her skin will break out within 2 days of an application.
My skin behaved long enough for me to give a good review of Iman’s newest foundation. First let’s get some background information about this kid. It’s…

That simply means that this oil-free foundation contains vitamin E, micro-mineral pigments and a plant extract complex of Acia and Magnolia. These minerals not only help hydrate the skin but also assist in enhancing the skin tone. This foundation gives a semi-matte finish and includes mica pearls  that add a bit of a glow to the skin.

It comes in 8 different shades. I’m Earth 3! Which is kinda cool being that the Capricorn sign is an earth sign. Holla!

The great thing about this foundation is that it provides a sheer-to-medium coverage. This works perfectly for those of us who don’t desire full coverage, such as myself. A quick swatch…

And how it looks on me…

Blends in beautifully, uh? I apply the foundation only to my cheeks as those are the only areas I like to conceal. I can notice the mica pearls at initial application but they appear to fade away when I dust a translucent powder or blush over the foundation. It wears well and I didn’t find it slipping away in the Florida heat and humidity.

The only drawback is that the foundation does not have any SPF in it. I suppose I can live with that since my daytime moisturizer already has SPF in it. But still…*pouts*

You can grab this foundation anywhere Iman Cosmetics products are sold for $15.00.  That includes Walgreens, Target, Wal-Mart, Ulta and Duane Reade. Select drugstores even have testers. No more “hoping” that you’ve got the right color.

If you aren’t a regular foundation or taking baby steps into the foundation world, this one comes highly recommended from me. Go Iman go!

Have you tried this foundation yet? Whatcha think?

Brown & Blushin': Iman Cosmetics Sheer Finishing Bronzer

Boy boy boy…lemme tell y’all about bronzers. Wait, back in July ’08 I did on a post all about bronzers. Check it out if you’re one of those brown girls who are like, “Can Black girls event wear bronzers?” Talk about a gasp-worthy question.

For whatever reason, some of us STILL think that bronzers aren’t for us. Tisk tisk, teddy bears. Pull yourselves together and witness this bronze-y beaut…

Yep, it’s that bronzer that came in my swag back from the Iman Cosmetics event I went to. How stunning is that?

Here’s the thing about Iman Cosmetics’ products…they don’t their products feel like drugstore buys. Really! Although you can snag this for $13.99, when you hold on the palette in your hand, it feels like something you would have gotten at a department store. That’s a beautiful thang.

Don’t fear bronzers, ladies. It is amaziiiing what just a little bit can do to enhance those gorgeous cheekbones of yours. Check me out here…

Please disregard my, “Why you lookin’ at me like that?” look. I was probably heading to work. HA!  On days when I really want to rock a minimalist look, this bronzer is giving me life. Just a little concealer and a swipe of bronzer on the cheekbones and I’m ready to do.

There’s even a little brush at the bottom of the compartment for touch-ups.

Genius. If you’re looking for a bronzer in your life for Spring and Summer, go with this one. Or this one…

That baby is on my wishlist and I can’t get to have it in my possession. Bwahahaaa! Evil laughs make everything better. :)

Iman and Clumps!

If you haven’t been following the Clumps’ Facebook fan page or my tweets, I was selected as a winner for a contest by Iman Cosmetics. Yes, I died when I found out. I was one of those kids that never even won a game in Bingo. I was flown to NYC, put up in the fabulous Affinia Shelburne and attended a blogger exclusive event.

Thanks to the Facebook fam, I got some ideas of how to wear my make-up. And the Twitter fam helped me feel confident in my dress…

Because, I don’t know if y’all know it or not but I am not much of a fashionista. I can get by and look fly but it ain’t easy. Ha!

And I spent some time playing with Iman Cosmetics and chatting with the ever fabulous Iman!!

Yep, we’re BFFs now. :)

I’m headed to the airport to jump on a flight back home. Stay tuned event details, lots more pictures and a video too. In the meantime, check out IMAN Cosmetics’ Facebook photo album of the event here. Y’all love how my bra strap is showing in one of the pictures, right? Classic B!

Ciao for now, loves!

ETA: The video!

Iman Cosmetics Luxury Liquid Eyeliners

It’s the holiday season! This means you are probably heading to more parties in which you may want you eyes to sparkle and dazzle.

Iman Cosmetics’ Luxury liquid eyeliners can help you do just that.

But only if you know how to apply eyeliners…in which, I don’t. Don’t laugh at me. I have never been a liquid liner girl due to my clumsiness. But I’m getting better. Now…meet my friends!

We’ve got Sapphire to the left and Onyx to the right. They reside at Target.com for $10.99 each. I’ve never seen liquid liners like these. Onyx has bits of silver glitter in it. And Sapphire has neon green sparkles. Okay so that sounds scary, but nope…it blends beautifully with the high pigmented sapphire-esque liner color.

Swatches if you will?

The consistency of these liners are a little more water-y than I expected. My first stroke wasn’t what was hot in the streets.

But then again, it could very well be my application. The second time was a charm though and viola!

That’s better, right? And I wasn’t lying about the silver glitter, was I? Hotness!

Sapphire rocks too…

I like these babies. I do wish the consistency was a little thicker to prevent having to apply more than one coat but it’s something I can get used to. Never mind that I’ve been playing with make-up for like 2 years and STILL can’t apply liquid eyeliners.

Oh wells..

And while I think these babies could be a tad bit cheaper, they aren’t a bad buy for a lady looking for some dazzle during the holiday season.

Whatcha think? Expecting these as a stocking stuffer?

FOTD Friday: Iman Cosmetics, Take 1

As promised, my darlings, I am doing a face of the day from my run-in with some Iman Cosmetics goodies. I’ll incorporate them in more FOTDs and with complete reviews and all!

This time I played around with the eyeshadow Mahogany.

This is such a beautiful soft brown that blends like a dream. It’s a matte..and it may be one of my favorite mattes of all time. Just look at how the brush soaks it up.

Wow! I applied it on the outer-V and crease like so….

Okay, so I am REALLY in love with Mahogany, y’all. It gave me such depth with little effort. As with most mattes, a little goes a long way so if you use this, you better use a light hand or you may apply too much.

On to the cheeks….I used Iman Cosmetics’ Freesia blush.

Now, at first swatch…I really thought I would like this. It looked beautiful against my skin when I swatched it on the arm, see?

But it was a different story when I applied it on the cheeks. It looked like I got punched on both sides. I ain’t lyin’, yall.

It could very well be me. I’ll admit I’m not the best with darker blushes application. I’ll have to consult with a make-up artist on this one. Here’s the look all pulled together!

FACE:
MAC Studio Finish concealer in NW45
MAC Sweet As Cocoa blush
Iman Cosmetics Freesia blush
MAC MSF in Petticoat (I had to put this over Freesia)

EYES:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance

L’Oreal Shadow paint in Witty
Cargo bronzer in medium
Iman Cosmetics Mahogany e/s
NARS Edie e/s

NARS Albatross highlighter
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero
NYC Cosmetics eyeliner in Teal
Lancome Ink Artliner in Indigo Charm
LIPS:
Dolce & Gabanna’s lipstick in Dahlia
…I love this lipstick so much I even took a picture of it and put it on my laptop’s desktop. HA!

Oh….back to the topic at hand.

I be jammin’ on the way to work!

And I’m still leaving positive notes in random places for people to see.

Y’all should really get on the Operation Beautiful bandwagon. It’s quite addicting, I tell ya! And what better addiction to have than to make people feel good about themselves? I try to do it every day.

I’m such a cornball. HA!

Alright darlings….have a WONDERFUL weekend

Stay beautiful,

Iman Cosmetics overload!

If there is one brand of cosmetics Clumps readers demand more coverage of, it’s Iman Cosmetics. I dabbled in some of the foundations here but this is my first time playing around with the shadows and blushes.

Dude, what took me so long?

Thanks to the incredible prices of BeautyTicket.com (definitely check ‘em out…shadows are only $3.99 and blushes are $4.99!!) I was able to do a major haul with minor spending.

Check out the shadows….

(l-r)
Chili, Twigs, Mahogany

Can you believe I DON’T own colors like these? I guess because I always assumed that colors like this were a little too “safe” and predictable on brown skin. Don’t know what I was thinking because I find that all three of these babies are uniquely versatile.

And then there are the blushes…

(l-r)
Fressia, Website, Bark

You fainted, didn’t you? I know I did when I first saw them. I can’t wait to swatch them and incorporate them in looks to share with y’all.

I was really anxious to see how Chili eyeshadow would look on the lid. It is a matte so I packed it on and used Mahogany in my crease for a quick “off to work” look.

Not bad at ‘tal, uh? Stay tuned for a complete review of all of the shadows and blushes. In the meantime, head on over to Beauty Ticket and get your Iman Cosmetics haul on!
