Got tired eyes? Yeah well, join the club. Let’s fix ‘em together!

“Relax.” they say. “Get some time to yourself.” they utter. Hmph. Whatever. My darling child is a special gift and I love her more than life itself but babies are some selfish creatures, man. They don’t give a darn about your beauty blogging schedule. Which is why it has taken me so long to review this amazing Ultra Hydration Eye Mask Duo from Le Metier de Beaute. I got a pair for review awhile back and I just got around to trying them out.

Le Metier de Beaute Hydrating Mask Duo

First of all, LMdB is a luxury brand. You know this, right? I’ve reviewed the brand several times before and their products are far from cheap. But if you’re ever in the mood to treat yourself to something cosmetically decadent, well then, I’m suggesting LMdB. This eye mask duo is wooooonderful.

I mean, I knew they’d probably feel nice but no, they REALLY feel nice. According to LMdB these single-use translucent seaweed-based masks have several things they’ll do for the skin under the eyes. Aaaand, here’s a list…

-They instantly cool on contact.
-They re-energize the area under the eyes.
-They reduce under eye redness.
-They diminish puffiness and the look of dark circles.
-They automatically pay back your student loans.

…nah, I’m just kidding about that last part. Just making sure you were paying attention. Ha! But seriously, they are some kind of awesome. I like that you don’t have to lay down while wearing them. And they really do create a second skin.

Yes, girl. They feel just marvelouuuus! I am a believer. And I wish these were waiting for me each and every night. Hey! A girl can dream, right?

Price: $150 for a pair of 8
Availability: You can get them from Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com.
Is it worth the money?: I’m not sure they sell these individually (bummer) and a box is so expensive each time you needed the under-eye pampering. They’re worth the price but I’m sure there are other ways you can pamper yourself.

Do you take care of the skin under your eyes? You can be honest… Okay, I’ll start. I don’t but will dedicate more time to doing so.

Gorgeous Picks from Le Métier de Beauté

Remember that time I had that crazy awesome Le Métier de Beauté Cosmetics makeover? I am still head over heels in love with this higher end brand and as promised, I’ve got some of their newest goodies to show off. Now. Keep in mind, that Le Métier de Beauté is higher-end so their product prices aren’t for everyone. But for my girls who love luxe cosmetics, you’ll love everything about this brand. And y’all know…I don’t discriminate. I love drugstore and higher-end cosmetics equally. Word.

Let’s rap on nail polishes first because that’s what most newcomers to the brand love the most. And it’s no surprise because everything from the color selection to the formula is just superb.

I do have 2 complaints about the polishes though. Their bottles are just so so as far as appearance and the brushes seem to be a bit on the small side. Or maybe I just have huge hands. Could be the latter. But still – I love everything about these 2 shades.

DSC_5389

Made in the Jade is a wonderful dark green that is opaque with only 2 coats. It’s a smooth cream and has a gorgeous shine without a topcoat.

Cloisin-Navy is just that…a richly pigmented navy nail polish that will have any blue nail polish lover going nutty. And for good reason. It’s just dynamic. And I love that it’s a navy blue that doesn’t look black. These polishes retail for $18 a pop.

On the eyeshadow front, check out how beautiful Fire Lily is…

Gorgeous, right? This shade reminds me so much of MAC’s Cranberry except it has a tiny bit more shimmer to it. It is fantastic on the lid but I really like shades like this applied to my outer-V. Le Métier de Beauté’s eyeshadows are pretty pricey at $30 but man, this one makes the price tag seem okay.

Aaaaand in the lipstick world, I couldn’t stop bragging about Le Métier de Beauté’s glosses and this Orange Juiced ($32) is just niiiice.

For one, it doesn’t feel like a typical gloss. It is insanely moisturizing (thanks to the Vitamin E) and doesn’t feel tacky on the lips. At the same time, you get a nice dose of shine and while the gloss is orange in color, it actually looks pretty clear on my lips with just a small bit of orange shimmer. Of course, if I were to wear an orange (or maybe red) lipstick, the orange in the gloss would really pop. It isn’t the glossiest lipgloss that I’ve come across but I would trade added moisture for glossiness any day. Can I get an Amen?

And I saved the best for last because the packaging of Le Métier de Beauté’s Kaleidoscopes are just goooorgeous.

DSC_5435

Priced at $95, these are definitely the kind of product that you have to LOOOOOOVE to even consider buying. Admittedly so, I’ve never been a fan of lip color palettes and kits. I think they are best suited for makeup artsits and traveling but for everyday use, I much prefer using lipsticks and glosses. There is something insanely wonderful about the lip colors in this Lip Kit though. Each shade is nice and pigmented and all have nice wear time. They end up being about $25 each so yeah, I do think the price point is a bit hefty – even for a luxe brand.

The shades:

Cinema: a velvety, ultra-rich true red.
Existential: sparkling mauve with rose effervescence.
Beau: deep berry crimson with matte finish.
Celluloid: a glimmering, creamy flushed red.

Celluloid is stunning. I’m not into having to use a lip brush every time I want to apply a lip color (I know…I’m lazy) but I loooove this one.

So yeah, I am loving me some Le Métier de Beauté. If you’re going to spend a good amount of money on a brand, you should want to be woo-ed and Le Métier de Beauté does that. You can scoop up their products at select Nordstrom counters and Nordstrom.com.

My Le Métier de Beauté Cosmetics makeover

Part of being a beauty blogger means educating thyself. I mean, yeah…I could only showcase the saaaaaame products and brands year after year but what fun is that? I like sharing new innovations and new products and brands that you may not have ever heard of. Like the brand Le Métier de Beauté Cosmetics.

I know, I know. You’re probably like, “Seriously B…is this a French brand or something?” Actually no, it’s not. This brand sits stateside at the counters of Neiman Marcus and online for those who don’t have a Neiman in their area. I first heard about this brand when I attended that fabulous Beauty Blogger Bunch a few months back. Le Métier de Beauté and I have gotten more acquainted and I am so excited to share my findings (and makeover) with you guys and gals.

Le Métier de Beauté (which in French translates to to “the craft of beauty”) is a luxurious skincare and makeup brand that has found its place in the beauty world for a good 5 years or so. The brand was founded on 3 core principles: craft, design and quality. It’s a brand that if you see at a counter, you are instantly drawn too because their products are not only eye-catching but diverse as well. And by diverse, I mean you’ll see color, color and more color. This is such a rarity in higher-end brands. And call me nutty, but I didn’t know that Le Métier de Beauté did spa treatments.

Yes darling, special masks and peels can be done in right in a nice and secluded section of the mall. I was actually going to get a peel but when my specialist noticed my baby bump, she thought that a makeover would be a better fit. And you know I wasn’t complaining about that. Speaking of my specialist…Irina was wonderful. She talked about each product in depth as she applied it to my face. Le Métier de Beauté didn’t appear to have a wide selection of brown-girl friendly foundations available, but Irina did a grand job at mixing up a lil’ somethin’.

She told me about the beautiful liners…

…and makeup remover.

The kaleidoscope eyeshadows (love these!).

And the mascara…

DSC_0064

The mascara, by the way, has a clear tube so you can actually see when you’re running out of product. Now why didn’t I think of this?

I’ll be a giving a closer look at some of these products later but I can say that their performances lasted beautifully in that 80 degree weather we had the other day. And the finished look?

I look like a straight up news reporter with wonky hair in that last pic, uh? Either way, Irina impressed me and that is hard to do with a beauty blogger. I’m not always a fan of people doing my makeup but I could totally go back to Irina any day. Her and fellow counter-mate Melissa were wonderful.

Stay tuned for more information about this brand! Have any of y’all heard about Le Métier de Beauté Cosmetics?

ETA: Although I wasn’t able to experience the CHEM60 Pro-Peel & GLOW10ai Mask Set due to my being pregnant, many of my fellow beauty blogger sisters and had raving reviews about it. It is finally available for purchase at Neiman Marcus counters and at NeimanMarcus.com. It’s a bit pricey at $265 but it lasts for quite some times and hey, skincare is worth the investment, isn’t it?
