Maybelline ColorSensational: Plums!

Next up in the Maybelline ColorSensational color review iiiis….plum!!

If I had to choose a lipstick color that I think most Black women run to first, I’d say plum.

Plums are safe. They are work-appropriate and can have many different color variations when topped off with lip liners and glosses. I probably have more plum-esque colors in my lipstick collection than any other color.

Meet Mauve-ulous lipstick and Sugared Honey lipgloss.

This duo sat in my purse for a good month. I love them! They complement each other very well. See….

Find 11 more plum lippies in the Maybelline Colorsensational family at your local drugstore, Wal-Mart, Ulta and Target.

So how many plum lippies do you have? Like 48 right? HA!!

Check out my review of the red family here.

Maybelline ColorSensational: The Mini-Series!

After attending the fabulous Maybelline ColorSensational event, it only makes sense that I highlight some of these gorgeous lippies, right? So I’ve decided to do a mini-series on a color from each individual shade once a week.

That’s right! I’ve got representatives from Red, Naturals, Plums and Pinks checkin’ in. How fly do they look?

Oh wow…let’s get a close-up.

A beautiful line-up, uh? I even brought their sidekicks….The Corresponding Gloss Crew!

Stay tuned for reviews and swatches! If there is anything specific you would like to know about these babies, just let me know and I’ll include that in the review.

Stay tuned!

Beauty Review: MAC Dazzleglass Creme

‘ello darlings!

I plan to crank out quite a few posts on lipsticks, glosses and balms. There are so many hot ones on the market right now and the gloss fiend in me wants to explore them allllll.

And with that, let’s bring it on!

MAC Dazzleglass Creme
in Do It Up

I think the whole world knew how much I loved the original Dazzleglasses. I pretty much lived in Funtabulous for a good 3 months. They are full of glitter, can jazz up a lipstick and have good staying power.

Now MAC rolls out with the Dazzleglass creme. Are these just as great? I’ll say! I found them to apply similar to a Dazzleglass but with a creamier feel. The lips still more moisturized and it wasn’t as sticky as a Dazzleglass.

But you still get the the glitter effect if that’s yo thang!

I think I’m in love with these. I probably won’t purchase more than two because I’m cheap and I think the $18 price tag is a little steep. Hey, that rhymed!

….no but seriously. While I do love these babies I find that they tend to go pretty quickly if you use them regularly. It’s not the best beauty investment for my budget but at the same time a good two or so in my collection adds some diversity to the gloss family.

Not to mention Do It Up ain’t too bad on the lips.

Whatcha think?

Have you tried any of the Dazzleglass creme lippies yet? Love ‘em? Hate ‘em?

Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect

Every now and then I like to purchase products that I know are a bit out of my budget. Just to see how they compare to my favorite drugstore lines.

See, I love higher-end products but let’s be honest…..a lot of drugstore products can knock higher-end brands out of the water. And I ain’t afraid to admit it.

Take one of Dior’s glosses as an example…

Wait—how dope is the packaging? It changes colors. Watch this.

Now it’s blue! Fierceness!

I’m not going to pretend like the gloss isn’t gorgeous because it is…

Another 398 points for awesome packaging. But as far as appearance on the lips…

Eh. $25.50 is a lot for a gloss and I really expected more. I knew this would happen. You can never go wrong with…

NYC glosses. This one in Cherrywood is under $2 and gives me a similar long-lasting shine.

That’s my “Ain’t that some bull?” look.

The verdict. Dior’s Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect lippies have beautiful packaging.

The end!!

Anyone try and glosses from Dior? Would you? Could you? Is $25 not insanely steep for a gloss? What say you?!
