And the world’s best tasting lip gloss goes toooo…

Why is it that every time I see the name C.O. Bigelow, I think of the movie Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo? I know, I know…how awful, am I? They have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other but guess which one rocks more than the other?

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tints, of course! Please tell me you’ve heard of these? Please oh please. These are some of my favorite lippies. And for good reason. They taste good!! Not that I purposely go around eating my lipglosses . Oh come on! Don’t act like you’ve never licked your lips and accidentally tasted your gloss. You KNOW you’ve done it. While incidents like this leave me with a sour stomach, C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tints are surprisingly and pleasantly…yummy! You can find these tasty wonders at Bath & Body Works retailing for $7.50. Are they worth the price? I say so. They come in several shades. A few of them are super sheer and look great worn alone or on top of your favorite lipstick for some added moisture. And others are opaque enough to actually be seen when worn solo.

(l-r) Ginger Mint, Plum Mint, Violet Mint

Check out that Ginger Mint. Sparkle galore, uh? You may have to do some re-applying as these aren’t the longest lasting glosses in the world, but what they WILL do is keep your lippies moisturized for hours at a time. The 100% natural mint flavor feels cooling on the lips and it’s one of those glosses that you likely won’t stop using, even if you’ve found another favorite.

I loves these and will be scooping some up as stocking stuffers for the holiday season. I know. That holiday season will be rolling around before we know it. In fact, I’ve got my eyes on the Holiday Shortbread Lip Tint. Dear Heavens, that sounds just wonderful. But don’t worry…it’ll be for my lips only. I won’t go around eating it.

I promise.

Have you tried any C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tints?

NYFW S/S 2012: Blue lips on the runway

I’ve been trying to catch as many runway shows as possible but that’s like…virtually impossible. I’ve only been able to get in 3 so far. But thanks YouTube and Maybelline, I’ve been peeping what looks to be gorgeous beautiful and fashion trends for Spring 2012. It’s only been Day 2 of this season’s Fashion Week and I’ve already made a commitment to step my game up in the Fashion Department. If you know anything about me, my fashion sense is practically non-existent. That said, while the Richard Chai show had beautiful looks (although, not many were my style), it was the makeup that took me away.

A few of the models were found sporting blue lips. Could this be a new trend? Who knows. I know one thing though…I wouldn’t be afraid to rock it. What about you? Would you wear a blue lip color?

Jemma Kidd’s Lip ID Color-Adapt Lip Gloss

Back when I was in that Target Beauty Contest, I had the opportunity to try out a ton of Jemma Kidd products. If you’re a Target store stalker like I am, you’ve seen JK’s products on the shelves, uh? I always thought they were a little too expensive for my taste  but the good news is…I’ve found most of the products to be worth your pennies. Take this gloss for example…

Remember Smashbox’s O-Gloss Intuitive Lip Gloss? I thought it was the coolest thing since almond milk. JK’s Lip ID Color-Adapt Lip Gloss has the same concept. The gloss goes on clear and then changes to a pink-y hue on your lippies. Know what I don’t like though? The gloss’s applicator…

It just looks…unpretty. I don’t know, I’ve never seen a lip gloss with a mouth like that. It didn’t affect the application in any way but it’s not the prettiest lip gloss I’ve seen. I totally love the consistency of the formula though! It’s thick enough to where it brought about a ton of moisture to the lips but wasn’t too thin to where it seeped between my lips. The formula is a lot like Smashbox’s.

My bare lippies…

Lippies after applying Lip ID Color-Adapt Lip Gloss

Meh. Not the biggest shot of color but it’s nice enough. $20 is a bit of a stretch for a gloss at Target though. Especially considering Smashbox’s is $2 more. But if you’re in the market for a nifty and super moisturizing gloss, I’d give this one a whirl. Oh! And I used to think that whole “going on clear and changing color on the lips” thing was magic, but nahhh….it goes on clear and changes colors on white paper too. *shrugs*

Have you tried any of Jemma Kidd’s products? You can grab this one at Target stores and on

Orange Lipglass. Can you dig it?

Orange lips anyone? You know I’m down. Then again, if it came in a hue warm enough for my skintone, I’d rock a blue gloss. Oh wait…I have. Point is, I’m a gal who knows no limits when it comes to different color lip glosses.

Take MAC’s Caqui for example.

This is another wonder from the MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions collection. I fell in love with Hocus Pocus, took All of My Purple Life to the beach and now Caqui is my newest BFF. Described as a persimmon orange, Caqui was the only other lipglass from the collection that I felt so inclined to buy. This gorgeous lippie did not disappoint me either.

The cool thing about orange lip glosses is even if you don’t like them, you can always warm up the shades with a pinker or browner lip pencil. I happen to like this gloss by itself though. It’s pigmented and opaque enough to wear alone aaaaand works beautifully on top of a red lipstick too. I just found this kid to be incredible versatile and quite flattering.

Not bad, eh?

A girlfriend of mine told me that she didn’t think she could pull off an orange lippie. One swipe of Caqui changed her mind.

And she isn’t exactly the most daring gal in the world. 8) I say give Caqui a try. You can still grab it online at But run, don’t walk, darlings. I’m not sure how much longer Caqui will be around for.

Are you a fan of orange lippies? Or not so much?

The world’s best drugstore glosses go to…

Ohmigoodness, I really didn’t think I’d like these glosses as much as I do. Essence has been becoming one of my favorite budget brands. They are neck in neck with my beloved e.l.f. But even e.l.f. don’t have glosses as fantastic as these.

Essence’s Stay With Me Long-Lasting Lipgloss is absolutely incredible at only $2.29 a pop. I’ve got 4 of their 6 shades and the textures are just as delicious as their names.

The perfect everyday bubble pink. I love how how creamy this is. It’ll go great on top of a cool lipstick but I don’t mind wearing it along either.

While not as opaque as I Like Cotton Candy, Candy Bar has a bit of a peachy tint to it.

Probably the most faint of them all. Perfect for when you want no-fuss lips.

The brightest and most opaque of the bunch. Trendsetter is a rockin’ bright pink that looks incredible.

Trendsetter with Flash.

Swatches of the kiddies…

I love everything about these glosses. The consistency is slightly thicker than a MAC Lipglass. Speaking of MAC Lipglass….

Who remembers the throwback 3D Glass? Heyyy!

They look to be around the same size. But with a better applicator…

I found these glosses to last a long longer than some of the higher-end glosses I’ve tried. They have a faint but pleasant berry smell. Honestly, if you’re a lipgloss lover, you practically NEED these. I mean, come on, gals…they’re only $2.29. You are hardly breakin’ the bank. 8)

Have you tried any of Essence’s lipglosses yet? Snag ’em from Ulta stores and

All of My Purple Life. Purple lips=LOVE

Okay, so why am I just now doing a post on this gloss? I don’t know. I’m weird. I will be so totally in love with something for days, weeks and months at a time and forgot to do an actual blog post about it. Haaaaa! My bad, fam. All of My Purple Life made its debut in the MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions collection.

Now we all know how I don’t have a favorite color, right? If, and only if I had to choose one, it would be a rich jewel-toned purple like this baby.

Stunning, right? Nothing rocks more than a highly pigmented gloss. When you don’t feel like messing around with lip brushes and lip liners, a gloss with intense pigment like this is what a gal needs. All of My Purple Life does not disappoint.

At the same time, if you want to take AOMPL down a notch, you can always blend it with a clear or light pink gloss. I’ve heard a lot of ladies say how they just can’t rock a purple lipgloss.

Excuse me? Says who? Girl, you better rock a purple gloss and rock it hard. I love how unexpected a purple lip is. Red lips? Seen it. Pink lips? Yawn. Burgundy lips? Go away. But a purple lip? It’s a total surprise. It’s memorable and any one who dare rocks one OWNS it, baby.

Even at the beach.

You were able to grab All of My Purple Life? It was released and then it was sold out. Then he was re-released and according to, it looks to be sold out AGAIN! But keep checking. Hopefully they’ll restock again soon.

All hail purple lips!

This balm is THEE bomb. 3 cheers for Sally Hansen’s Vita-A Lip Line smoother!

Sally Hansen continues to bring me joy. Who is this woman? I must meet her. What if she’s just a brand and not a person? No no. I won’t think like that. Sally Sally Bo Bally is a real person. Just like Hello Kitty and Santa Claus.

But anywhoovers, my gal Sal recently released these funky looking lip balms that I just had to share with y’all.

I know, right? I made the same look when I first saw them! I was so in love with the packaging. Then again, I love when beauty goodies come in see-thru packages.

What in the world is that? It’s Vita-A-Lip Line Smoothers. According to Sally Hansen, these are supposed to help reduce the look of lines. It includes pomegranate and acai to help keep the moisture in the lippies. I can’t say much about the line-reducing thing because I don’t have lines around my lips. *knocks on wood*  These balms are smooth and feel very nice on the lips. They’ve got a bit of a peachy flavor. They don’t taste like Georgia peaches but they also don’t taste like dirt either and that’s always a good attribute to have in a lip balm.

I find that they work really well under lipsticks. You know…because lipsticks can be SO drying. Do they work well on their own? Meh. I didn’t find them to be exceptional. They did well. I couldn’t get much wear time out of them. Then again, I drink A LOT of water throughout the day and most lip products don’t stay on for me through sips.

Careful when applying though. If you bring the balm up too far to apply, you may break it off. Not that I know from experience. Okay, I’m lying. So I broke off one of the sticks. I’d like to say that this isn’t my fault. It can happen to anyone. Never mind that it happened in this video.

So yeah, if you’re in the market for a cool lookin’, sweet smellin’ cheap-y balm, this is a great one. It’s only $4.99 and you can snag it in drugstores.

Have y’all seen these in stores yet?
