Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick…whooooa!

I’ve been wanting to buy Too Faced’s Melted lipsticks forever. I tried to ignore them. I told myeslf that I would hardly use them and that they weren’t really THAT unique.

Too Faced Melted

I lied to myself. And last weekend, I finally bit the bullet and purchased one. I was trying to be modest and hoard them all but really it was the Melted Fuchsia that called my name. Have you girls tried it? Ohmigoooodness.

Too Faced Melted Fuchsia
I’m pretty sure this shade will look gorgeous on just about anyone who wears it. It is indeed a very BRIGHT fuchsia but it somehow flatters me as it has nice blue undertones. And as all of the reviews have claimed, these Melted thingies wear very well. Do yourself a favor and exfoliate your lips if you find them cracking. These babies tend to seep into every crack and crease. The smell reminds me of Play-Doh but it doesn’t bother me. Honestly, I’ll take Play-Doh scents any day over floral or vanilla scents.

Too Faced said that these lippies should have “the shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick.” Very interesting concept and one that I don’t think I’ve heard of before. The applicator has makes applying it easy.

Too Faced Melted applicator

I was shocked at how opaque this is, but that’s a good thing! It feels very light on the lips and really does last for quite some time. If you’re eating and manage to wipe your mouth, you will likely wipe off the color but yep, you’re left with just a little bit of staining.

It does surprisingly well and I’m trying to figure out which bill I shouldn’t pay so that I can buy some of these babies. Haha! Just kidding.

Maybe.

Seriously, though…at $21 they aren’t cheap but they are so worth the price and I don’t think I’ve come across a lip product that has gotten me THIS excited in soooo long. So yeah, girl. I’ll be wearing this lippy foreeeeeever.

Have you tried Too Faced’s Melted lippies yet? Check ’em out here.

Why You Should Buy Wet ‘n Wild’s Fergie Lipstains

I feel like it has been forever since I’ve featured lip glosses on Clumps. I’ve really been wearing lipstick more these days but while rummaging around, I came across a few of these glosses that Wet ‘n Wild Cosmetics sent me some months ago. As an Amabassador for the brand, I have been so fortunate to get a peek of all of their newest products.

Wet n Wild Fergie Vicious Varnish High Shine Lipstain Collection

These lipstains launched months back and the color selection is just out of this word! I only have 5 of the shades here but there are more and they range from neutral/browns to hot pinks and reds. Great job with this, WnW!

Wet n Wild Fergie Vicious Varnish High Shine Lipstain

Ideally, what I gathered from these is that they are intended to be applied like a gloss but have the staying power of a stain. BUT, they are also shiny which means you aren’t going to get that super dry feeling that you may get from a lipstain. It’s an appealing concept. Especially for those of us who have perpetually dry lips.

Wet n Wil lipgloss swatches

What I don’t like about these is the spatula-like applicator. They distribute an uneven amount of gloss on the lips and it takes a bit of blotting to even thangs out. Not a major downer but it is definitely something to note. Wear-wise, though, these are fantastic. I can easily get a good 3-6 hours of wear of ’em while not having to worry about them coming off of the lips.

Wet n Wild lipgloss

Even as the glossiness, fades away, the stain is still there. It works better than many higher-end stains that I’ve used! I didn’t have any issues with the scent and was happy to find that there wasn’t an overwhelmingly annoying smell or taste to them.

And hello, they are $3.49. Crazy cheap! And they are a lot better than their MegaLast glosses. I so wish Wet ‘n Wild would add these to their website, but nope…nada. You can’t purchase them online either so your best bet is to head to your local Walgreens or CVS and scoop ’em up.

Makeup Wars: 5 Wearable Nude Lipsticks for Brown Girls

The slacker in me almost missed out on joining in on this Makeup Wars post. But dude…nude? I HAD to jump in and represent for the dark brown girls that feel as if they can’t wear nudes comfortably.

Nude Lipstick.jpg

Truthfully, though? Nudes aren’t favorite. I hardly tango with any of mine. Why wear nude when you can wear red, hot pink or…orange? But lemme tell you, a good nude paired with a gorgeous and vibrant eye is stunning. Nudes have their place in the makeup world and I’m glad to see that I’ve got a nice little selection of ’em.

Nude Lipstick on Black Woman

Even if I don’t show them much love. Who knows…maybe after seeing all of these nudes, I’ll be inspired to wear them more often. Maybe. But first, check out 5 of my favorite nude lipsticks…

DSC_4667

Clinique’s Curviest Caramel is the way I like my nudes. It leans a bit more on the pink side but is still described as a nude. It doesn’t have too much white in it to where I feel like a corpse. And it’s definitely one of those interview friendly shades.

Hey there, Tarte Inspired. Don’t hate me for not having a single picture of that lippy but dang…I love it. Inspired comes from Tarte’s Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipsticks and while the formula on these are a bit thick and strange, Inspired is truly one nude that I can stand by.

DSC_1782

Too Faced’s Spice Spice Baby is one of those nudes that at first glance looks “Blech!” but then when applied you’re all like “Dayuuuuuum!” It is one nude that I don’t have to do any doctoring to. It is perfect without any liner or glosses. It is truly the ideal nude lipstick for my dark brown sisters.

Too Faced Taffy

Also from Too Faced is Taffy, a pink marshmallow nude. This is the most recent nude featured on Clumps and it is by far one of my favorites.

MAC Lollipop Loving

MAC’s Lollipop Loving (from the Heatherette collection, who remembers that?) is like a blast from the past. I can’t believe I still have this lipstick. I’m questioning if it is even safe to use considering I’ve had it for so many years. Welp, whatever. I have rediscovered this lipstick and I am in loooove with its frosty pink-y nude finish with  just a touch of chartreuse shimmer. Some frosts are so totally 90’s but when lined with MAC’s Chestnut, this lippy is some kind of wonderful.

Do you have a favorite nude? Tell me! I really should add more to my collection. In the meantime, check out the nude lippies that my Makeup Wars sisters loved…

4 Reasons Why Too Faced’s La Creme Lipsticks Rock

So apparently I never featured these gorgeous Too Faced La Creme lipsticks. Lame. I mean, I’ve reviewed some of the shades before but these 4 are perfect in every way. I got press samples of them many moons ago so please forgive me for just now showin’ you their fierceness.

Too Faced La Creme

I won’t bore you with the details. Just know that these lipsticks are insanely moisturizing. Too Faced said that they’re “oozing with lip-conditioning hydrators” and that’s the perfect way to put it. I’m so used to having to wear a balm under lipsticks, but you’ll be happy to know that you can just rock these solo.

Too Faced La Creme lipsticks

Yes, girl. Yes.

Too Faced Bon Bon

Too Faced Bon Bon Lipstick

Bon Bon is a pink papaya that I really want to love on me but alas, corals like a bit off on me unless I pair them with darker lip liners.

Too Faced Taffy Lipstick

Too Faced Taffy

Taffy is a pink marshmallow nude and I wanted to hate this at first sight because it really is far too pink for me but Taffy combined with a dark brown lip liner is absolutely stunning. No lies!

Too Faced Lollipop Lipstick

Too Faced Lollipop

Lollipop is my favorite (obvs) because I’m a girl who loves her purple-y magenta shades. This violet has an orchid shimmer and it’s one of those lippies that anyone can rock and look fabulous. Love!

Too Faced Pink Chocolate Lipstick

Too Faced Pink Chocolate

Pink Chocolate is another one of those “meh” shades at first glance, but it does surprisingly well against my chocolate skin. I’m a fan of this berry brown.

Retailing for $22 each, these lippies are on the pricier side but worth it if you’ve got the extra pennies. Lollipop is a staple in my purse and Taffy is my go to for a nude lip.

Come on, Too Faced! Give me mooooAR shades!

Tarte’s Power Pigments Have Motivated Me To…Run!

I kinda want to start this post off complaining about the cold, but I won’t. Mainly because I live in Florida and you guys think I’m bonkers when I complain about the cold. But I also complain about the heat too so see…I am an equal opportunist hater.

And in random news, yours truly is running a 5K on Saturday. I’m freaking out. Because I’m so not ready but I SO need the challenge. I received these goodies a few weeks ago and while I was sauntering by the beauty wall the other , I glanced at these Tarte Power Pigments and lost my mind.

Tarte Power Pigment

Because how could I let them sit there that long without playing with them? These are absolutely gorgeous. And I know, I know. You’re all like, “Doesn’t Tarte already have pencils that look like these? How are these different?”

Tarte Power Pigment lipstick

Good question, honey bunny. And I asked myself the same question when I first saw these. Inspired by Tarte’s newly designed cheek stains, these lip tints aren’t just pretty on the lips, they also moisturize the lips. And by moisturize, I mean you snowbirds up North may actually prevent cracking lips with these. With a color selection of 8 lippies, I would have loved to see wilder colors (like a deep purple, burgundy or orange, even) but I’m hoping that Tarte will consider this in the next few seasons.

However, the shades that I DID get are just, well…you tell me.

Tarte Flush

Flush is a sheer berry and it’s my favorite. I mean, look at it! Simple, sweet, perfect for meetings and perfect for fancy shmancy events.

Tarte Blushing Bride

I’ve been wearing Blushing Bride forever and a day because this plummy rose is just fantastic for daily use. She’s a bit on the “blah” side, but believe it or not, some days I just want plain-lookin’ lips. And for that, this shade totally works.

Tarte Natural Beauty

Natural Beauty is a sheer berry rose (Tarte loves using the words berry and rose, huh?) and while it looks decent up close, far away I find that it has a bit too much coral in it for my liking. I love this darkened up with a lip liner.

These self-sharpening pencils seriously keep the lips hydrated. There is also a hint of mint that my nose detected and I really liked the non-sticky formula. Seriously, they feel good and they last a good 4-5 hours on the lips. Oh, but if you’re thinking that that the color at the bottom of the stick matches the lip color…

Tarte Power Pigment Lips

They don’t. Which, I think, is a good thing as I prefer the color in the tube over the color displayed outside. Woot! You can grab these at Sephora and Sephora.com for $24. Pricey? Maybe. Worth it? Definitely

That said, I think I’ve found the lippy that I’m wearing to my race on Saturday. I can’t promise that I’ll be one of the first few to finish, but…I’m going to try!

Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips – Blinged Out!

I love brands like Vaseline. They are both predictable and unpredictable and I LOVE that. I mean yeah…they’ve been making the same product for many many years. And the product hasn’t really changed! You can get regular ole’ Vaseline practically anywhere. While they stay consistent with that, on the other hand, they’re gettin’ all fancy with releasing spray lotions and colorful Vaseline for lips and all. I mean, dang. You are just too fly for your own good, Vaseline.

On a gloomy very rough day, I received this glorious jar in the mail.

Vaseline Lips

Can you even deeeeeal???? I can’t. I just can’t. Now we’ve seen the bejeweled Vaseline Lip Therapy jars before but how much prettier is she all decked out in her rosy tint? I’m in love. I had to hide it from my Mom and sister because they were itchin’ to snag my jar during Thanksgiving.

I use the regular Vaseline at night because it traps the moisture in my lips and keeps them moisturized at night but wow, I didn’t see a tinted Vaseline a comin’.

Vaseline Rosy Lips Therapy

Bejeweled Vaseline Lip Therapy

It makes sense though! Now to be quite honest, I didn’t see much of a rosy tint in my lips when I applied this.

Vaseline on Lips

I reckon this would do better with a lip liner. The Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips is also scented! It has a rose/vanilla/berry scent and I don’t know….I found it to be really heavy on the floral side and I’m perfectly okay with rockin’ scent-free Vaseline.

Rosy Lips swatch

Still. You can’t tell me that this baby isn’t gorgeous. The un-bejeweled Vaseline Rose Lips is at drugstores nationwide for only $1.99.

Vaseline Lip Therapy

Her very luxurious older sister is $45 at New Beauty at Fred Segal, Santa Monica or you can call 310-394-8509. But only until Christmas Day 2013 because after that, this limited edition shiny mama of a Vaseline jar will disappear.

Meanwhile I’ll be putting mine behind a glass window. Yeeeeep.

3 Lipsticks From Cargo. Wait…3 AWESOME Lipsticks From Cargo!

Need a new brand of lipsticks to try? Duh!! Of course, you do? I mean…who doesn’t? I’m not sure what took them so long but CARGO Cosmetics recently launched their first ever lipstick collection.

Cargo Cosmetics

“Seriously B? They should have done that a long time ago.”

Cargo Essential Lip Color

Hmm mmm, girl. I said the same thing. I received 3 of the 13 lippies from the collection but whoa, I’m impressed. Aren’t I always impressed from CARGO stuffs? Yeah, I am. I got these lippies to review and I thought I’d quickly highlight the shades and talk about the awesome formula.

Cargo Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a pale beige, and let’s be honest. This shade is anything but flattering on me. But what it is, is a pleasure to use! Seriously, I love how creamy and opaque it was with only minimal application. This shade would definitely look better as a nude lippie on my ivory and olive mamas. It can also work nicely if (and only if) it is paired with a brown lip liner.

Cargo Punta Cuna

Punta Cana is a bright fuchsia that just screams “Look at my lips!” You either love it or don’t and I am definitely here for this bright richness of a lipstick.

Cargo Bordeaux

Bordeaux is a deep wine and if this doesn’t scream FALL, I don’t know what shade does. I don’t traditionally wear shades this deep and dark, but I don’t know…I think I’ll be making Bordeaux my signature shade this season.

These lipsticks are more than just hydrating. They apply beautifullllllyyyyy. And I know I’m all dramatic about it, but the silky smooth formula is just everything that I could ever hope for in a lipstick. And I’ve found that they last for a good little while. You know, for a lipstick.

Cargo Cosmetics lipstick

Fantastic quality, Cargo! Quiero mas. You can scoop these lippies up for $22 at CargoCosmetics.com or at ULTA.

Beautifully Disney – The Makeup Line of ALL Makeup Lines

I love me some Disney. I mean really love is an understatement. Big kids know what I’m talking about. There’s something special about Disney parks, characters and movies. I didn’t think I could fall in love with Disney any more until they launched a makeup line called Beautifully Disney.

Beautifully Disney makeup

Um, yes. This is indeed a real thing and a few months ago I had the pleasure of attending a press event that caught me up to speed about the brand. First of all… “WOW!!! Is this real life?” It is. And I am so happy to be in this life where Disney has an awesome and affordable makeup line. And by awesome, I mean that the quality is definitely up to par. Yes, yes, I love my Disney but I also love keepin’ it real. I was just wishing on a star that the products would be amazing, spectacular and that they would leave me in awe. And guess what? They did.

Beautifully Disney eye shadow

From the packaging, the names of the palettes, polishes and lipsticks, the brand nailed it. It is everything that a Disney and beauty lover would want. If you’re thinking that the brand doesn’t look “kiddy” that’s because it isn’t intended for kids. Beautifully Disney is a line is for the older Disney lover, the Disney admirer who may have forgotten her lipstick at home and the beauty aficionado who loves Disney and wants an memento that she can use on a regular basis.

The dark and rich jewel toned packaging looks and feels sophisticated. The color choices of the lip glosses, nail polishes and eye shadows are mature, yet trendy and can be fitting for the college-aged girl to the hip Grandma who loves Disney as much as her grandkids love Disney.

The lippies…

Beautifully Disney lips

Beautifully Disney lip gloss

I didn’t anticipate liking these as much as I did. I thought they’d be watery, contain a ton of fragrance and have wimpy colors. Wrong! These fragrance-free lip glosses are moisturizing and pigmented. They last relatively long for a gloss and I’ve spotted a purple, baby pink, shimmery plum, coral and silver gloss. I am LOVING the shade options!

The nail polishes…

Beautifully Disney nail polishes

Ohhhh, the polishes…they’re wonderful! Cremes dominate the scene but I love that there are a few glitters and shimmer polishes. You’ve got your staple colors like reds and pinks but for us adventurous nail polish lovers, there’s a baby blue, teal and mustard.

Eye shadow palettes…

Beautifully Disney eye shadow palette

The eye shadows are stunning. Housed in graphically attractive heavy duty cardboard palettes. Most of the shades have a bit of shimmer but the shimmer is very forgiving and subtle.

Priced between $9-$40, the high-end line is more than impressive. New collections are launching every 3 months and I even got an insider tip that Beautifully Disney will be launching a mascara soon. *squeals* If you don’t think you’ll be in Orlando and at Downtown Disney to pick these sweet goodies up, you can snag ’em online.

Gotta love that Disney magic!

*Disclosure: These products came in a gift basket that was gifted to me at a Disney press event.
