butter LONDON doesn’t just sell polishes. But you knew that…right?

So butter LONDON makes more than just nail polish. Did you know that? I knew but then I forgot. They do nail polishes so well that I’ve never really had to the desire to spend my money on any of their other products. Years ago I tried their lipgloss and it was so insanely fragranced that I vowed to never try any of their Lippys again.

Butter London

Well, that was forever and a day ago and I couldn’t NOT try these samples that I got in the mail. I’m no fool. bL has lips, cheeks and eye products but when you visit their site, you’ll see that it’s really the nail products that they display.

Butter LONDON Cosmetics

Not that I’m complain’. There’s a reason why I collect buttahs. But let’s take a closer look at some of their other beauties.

The Wink Eye Pencils are a lot like the eye pencils from many other brands. Nothing fancy but the formula is nice, smooth, build-able and it doesn’t budge. Like at all.

Butter LONDON Wink

My swatch of Cheerio (a gilded yellow shimmer) stayed put a few minutes after application. I don’t really know how to wear yellows well, but honey, I’ll be trying because this is gorgeous. It goes for $18.

Butter LONDON Cheerio

bL also has a nice selection of creamy eyeshadows. Okay, so honestly…I’ve never been a fan of these type of products. My lids are insanely oily and I have the toughest time getting these creamy products to adhere. Still, Sun Kiss WINK Cream Eye Shadow is nice and muted gold that will complement many skin tones. It also goes for $18. And back to the Lippys…

Butter LONDON Lippy

GOOD NEWS! They don’t smell like flowers on speed anymore. Yay! The subtle whiff of vanilla didn’t trigger a headache and all was well. It’s a thick gloss and like many sheerer glosses like this, the color in the tube does not translate on your lips.

Butter LONDON Lippy Twee

Yeah. I kinda hate when that happens. If the tube is pink, I want pink, bro! But hey, Twee is cool with me. The added moisturization kept my normally ashy lips in check and for that, I am grateful. Such awesomeness will run you $20. And then there’s Chuffed…

Butter LONDON Chuffed

I won’t spend too much time here because we already know how much I want bL to run for President, but yeah…this full coverage, shimmery bright orange is stunnning.

Overall, I think butter LONDON does well with cosmetics. The price points are a bit higher than I think they should be, but fans will appreciate the diverse colors, great formulas and nice collections that they come out with.

Have you tried anything other than nail polish from buttah?

Two Reasons Why Urban Decay Should Give Us More Nail Polishes

Oh dang, Urban Decay…y’all should really do more nail polishes because these two here…

Urban Decay nail polish

Ohmigoodness. They are some kind of awesome. And I’m not just saying that because EVERYTHING Urban Decay makes is awesome. The formula of these are just spectacular and when I got press samples of them, I couldn’t wait to take ‘em for a drive. The outside packaging alone is fierce and wild and everything we would expect from UD.

Urban Decay nail polishes

These limited edition polishes retail for $15 which sits nicely in Urban Decay’s pricing profile. Bang is a bright orange with a subtle iridescent pearl and on the outside it looks all normal and meh.

Urban Decay Bang

But when it hits the nails, that subtle iridescent pearl really shines in and out of light.

Urban Decay Bang nail polish

Gorgeous, right? This shade has been on my toes for a good week now. And then there’s Chaos…

Urban Decay Chaos nail polish

I’ve always appreciated a good cobalt blue and this one doesn’t disappoint. Zoya has quite a few cobalt blue polishes but this one is nice because like Bang, it has that nice pearly iridescence sheen.

Urban Decay Chaos

Sweetness all around and currently available at UrbanDecay.com.

Zoya Magical Pixie collection

Spring is here and while I know a great deal of the U.S. is still dealing with frigid temps, this Floridian barely got any dealings with snow this past Winter. I was in NYC in February and that slushy snow stuff was enough to drive me back to my palm trees and blue skies. Zoya’s Magical Pixie collection is technically a Spring collection, but its sparkle and luster looks very much like a Winter collection.

Zoya Magical Pixie collection

Or is it just me?

Zoya Magical Pixie

Either way, I was excited to get the chance to review this stunning collection.

Zoya Lux nail polish

Lux is a rose quartz sparkle textured PixieDust with mega hex iridescent particles. I always said that if I’m going to wear a pink nail polish, it is going to be a stunning one like this babe. Tough to apply? Yes. Worth the effort? Definitely.

Zoya Cosmo

Cosmo is a silver crystal sparkle with the same mega hex iridescent particles as Lux. I think I like this one of the 3 because the rainbow’ness (c’mon…let’s pretend that’s a word) really looks well with the silver polish.

Zoya Vega nail polish

Vega is the blue opal version of Lux and Cosmo and comes off just as stunning as the other two. This shade comes off very winter-y to me.

I did some mild photo adjusting to these to help the colors shine as the original photos didn’t have them looking like how they look in real life. They are indeed extremely sparkly. This collections reminds me a lot of a collection that Wet ‘n Wild had some years back. The sparkle keeps them from looking “matte” and as you would imagine, these are pretty rough to the touch which can make removal tricky. Otherwise, I think they are fantastic and fun to play with for those who need some extra sparkle in their nail polish collection.

Each polish goes for $10 but you can get the entire collection for $30.

Are you into the chunky sparkle look?

How Can A Nail Polish Collection Be So…Fine?

Have y’all heard of the brand Cirque? I’m not sure if I’ve featured them too many times on Clumps but I’ve purchased several of their polishes simply because they speak to me. I’m not even kidding. Every time they come out with a collection, I just hear….”Buy me, buy me.” And I buy them.

They recently announced the launch of their newest collection and I just had to share a few of the pics that landed in my inbox. Brace yourself…

Cirque

Cirque Panacea

Cirque Xochitl

Cirque nail polishes

You’ll have to visit their site to see the rest of the collection, but I am really trying to figure out if I NEED any of them. I mean, obviously…YES, I do need a few, but which ones? Holos do it to me every time. They are my favorite formula and I’m just putty in the hands of brands that come out with them.

They’ll be like “Here’s a holographic polish for $359 a bottle.” And I’m all…

Shut Up and Take My Money

And unapologetically so. Bop on over to Cirque to see the rest of this stunning collection. And tell your wallet I apologize.

Yeah.

The Best Nail Polish Top Coat Everrrr

I am such a snob, y’all. In the almost 7 years that Clumps of Mascara has been around, I have always used my own photos in posts. Every now and  then I’ll use a stock photo, but for the most part I use my own pics. It’s just how I roll. I like taking product photos that give readers an idea of how the product looks in real life. However, don’t judge me but today you’re getting a stock picture. And it’s only because I had this, used it, trashed it and forget to review it.

Manicure Booster

My bad. So yeah…how can I make this short and sweet? This Manicure Booster stuff is awesome. Buy it. No really. Buy it. Without putting you to sleep with its description, the Manicure Booster is really just a nail polish top coat on steroids. I have gone a week without having my nail polish chip on me when I’ve used this stuff. It’s just great.

And yeah, I know, the price tag of $21 has you all like “WTF…$21 for a nail polish top coat?” Yes, girl. I know. Sometimes the best things in life aren’t free. Or cheap. Sometimes you get what you pay for and if you get and pay for this, I guarantee that you’ll love it.

See this mani?

OPI Care To Danse

I have been wearing it since Friday night. It has not budged one bit. Impressive, no? I’ll be ordering more of this glorious polish as soon as payday Friday hits.

I know I’m not the only one that liiiiiiives for payday Friday. Friday is already pretty epic on its own but payday Friday? Giiiirl….

OPI Gwen Stefani nail polish Collection

When I first heard about OPI doing a collection with the iconic Gwen Stefani, I was all like…”What took so long?” I mean, honestly…she should have had her own collection a long time ago, am I right? I actually had to sit down and explain who No Doubt was to my coworker’s little sister the other day and uh…I felt old. No Doubt rocked my high school years. I played Rock Steady daily. Love.Angel.Music.Baby gave me life. Gwen is my girl and when I did cartwheels (lol, not really tho) when press samples of this 7-piece collection landed in my mailbox.

OPI Gwen Stefani collection

Let’s do a quick overview of these babies…

OPI I Sing In Color nail polish

I Sing In Color is a dark and vampy red. And even in the dark, it still looks red which is a big deal in my book. It reminds me a lot of Cult Nails’ Lamestain and it is just as sweet in that it doesn’t bleed into my cuticles. LOVE!

OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby nail polish

Love.Angel.Music.Baby is a gold matte with a satin-y formula and lemme tell you, I’ve never been a fan of golds but this one is goooorgeous. I’ve always been a fan of OPI’s satin formula. They do it beautifully. I’ve been meaning to do a look with this gold and black. Can you imagine how gorgeous that would be?

OPI Hey Baby nail polish

Hey Baby is a bright pink creme and there really isn’t much to say about this this one. You know how I feel about pinks. They are all starting to look the same at this point….

OPI In True Stefani Fashion

In True Stefani Fashion is a silver glitter with a nice amount of holographic glitter dumped in. I layered it over Hey Baby and it adds a nice little sparkle. It’s just an average glitter, though. Definitely something that most nail polish lovers probably already own.

OPI 4 In The Morning nail polish

4 In The Morning is a black satin. This has been done before but as I’ve mentioned, no one does this satin nail polish formula like OPI. This is such a perfect fit for Gwen’s collection. It’s smooth, sexy and applies like a dream.

This collection also features Push and Shove, a silver chrome and Over & Over A-Gwen, a red creme. Push and Shove comes in a set with a base coat and the silver chrome. It’s a beautiful chrome but somehow I found the lasting power to be only so so. And we all know OPI does reds beautifully so Over & Over A-Gwen is just fantastic.

I love everything about Gwen so I would have loved more umph in this collection. I do like the use of various texture and formulas and the shade ranges are nice, but I don’t know…this is Gwen we’re talking about. I need some more shock factor!

This collection is currently available anywhere OPI is sold. I’ve spotted every shade at Ulta for $9. Push and Shove goes for $14.99 because it wants to be all fancy and whatnot.

Any Gwen lovers out there? What do you think? Did this collection do her justice?

Nicole by OPI’s awesome new nail treatments

You would think that as many times as I polish my nails in a given week I would be an avid user of top coats and have wonderful cuticle maintenance. But no. I am actually the worst at applying bases coats, top coats, and taking a couple minutes to give my cuticles the love they need. With the new year here, I am making a resolution to take better care of my nails because they deserve it. The awesome  at Nicole by OPI sent these over to me and  my resolution super easy with their affordable top coats and treatments.

Nicole by OPI treatments

The 3-in-1 polish is so convenient; it is a base, top coat, and strengthener which has really made a difference in my nails. The base coat has prevented staining which a lot of dark polishes do and m nails are stronger because of the strengthener. The top coat gives me that great shine that I know everyone wants their nails to have.

The Matte Top Coat gives your nails that awesome matte look and which I feel spices up any outfit for any occasion.

The Quick Dry Top Coat is a life saver. For some reason, I always paint my nails an hour or two before I go to bed. Putting this top coat on has prevented me from waking up and finding nail polish all over my bed sheets. The top coat dries you nails super fast so you don’t have to sit there blowing on your nails forever and it makes your nails super shiny. I have already had people ask me what top coat I am using.

Nicole by OPI cuticle treatment

The Oil to Go is amazing I use it every single day to keep the cuticles on my nails and toes moisturized and looking pretty. It is packaged in a leak proof oil tube so you don’t have to work about it spilling every where. I like to apply it right before I get in the bed that way I don’t have to worry about getting it on my clothes in the morning.

My favorite thing about Nicole by OPI is that it is super affordable these polishes and treatments are only $7.99 and available at places you go everyday like CVS, Target,  Duane Reade and Wal-Mart. You should be able to find these in stores. Start your year off right by making sure your nails look and feel healthy!

Mariah Carey Holiday Nail Polish Collection, Part I

I am in full blown Christmas mode. I am ready to put up the tree, roast some chestnuts by an open fire, and spread all types of happiness any way I can. Thanks to the brilliant minds at OPI, I can spread my joy by having beautiful nails. This season OPI has launched 18 Limited Edition Holiday Nail Lacquers. Inspired by Mariah Carey, this holiday collection includes reds, burgundy, glitters and the amazing liquid sand collection. I received this collection to review and was excited to polish my nails!

OPI Mariah Carey Holiday

*** Disclaimer I am not the perfect polish painter (say that 7 times fast) like my big sissy so bear with me. I am getting there though, so sorry in advance if you see some mistakes.***

OPI In My Santa Suit

In My Santa Suit is the perfect red for the holiday season. It is shiny and bold and really gives you that Christmas feeling. This color is amazingly shiny even without a top coat.

OPI Cute Little Vixen

Cute Little Vixen is a sexy violet that will go great with anything outfit you are wearing this season.

OPI All I Want

All I Want For Christmas ( Is OPI) is just a basic red. Nothing to write Santa about, but if you are looking for a good red that you can wear all year this will be great for you.

OPI Warm Me Up

Warm Me Up is one of the darker colors of the collection, but it is one of my favorites. This brown polish has a little hint of silver in it spice up a usually boring color.

OPI Visions of Love

Visions of Love is probably my favorite polish of all time. It is a rich burgundy that is very mature and sexy. It looks more of an Oxford Blood when you first put it on, but after it dries turns into that burgundy I ended up liking it so much that I wore it for the entire week.

OPI Underneath the Mistletoe

Underneath The Mistletoe is a deep red with a kiss of sparkle it give you that extra umph that every outfit needs during the holiday season.

OPI Sleigh Ride For Two

Sleigh Ride For Two is a savory plum polish that is absolutely gorgeous. This color is has a nice shimmer to it that has a nice subtle sparkle.

OPI I Snow You Love Me

I Snow You Love Me is a super fun polish. It adds a little something extra to any polish that you want people to notice. I put it over Sleigh Ride For Two and loved the results. It was a little difficult to get the sequins to lay down so I suggest using a toothpick to get the sequins to lay down.

OPI Ski Slope Sweetie

Ski Slope Sweetie is a lovely pearl polish. It reminds of the popular polish in the 90s cotton candy, but not as thick. You will definitely need to put more than one coat to get a really good I did two, but would put an extra just for good measure.

OPI Wondrous Star

Wondrous Star is a funky polish. Funky in a good way it really adds some spunk to your nails while still giving you a glamorous gold shimmer.

If none these 10 polishes have caught your eye, stay tuned for the rest of the OPI Mariah Carey Limited Edition Holiday Nail Lacquers collection. This collection is available at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCP Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.
