Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes

We all know how much I love Sally Hansen, right? Remember that time I questioned if she was even a real person? Yeah. Who knows? And who cares. All I know is Sal Han better keep on keepin’ on because she rocks in every single way. Take these Xtreme Nails polishes for example.

Let’s talk about the awesomeness of these guys, shall we? First up are the sheer stars. I didn’t bother to swatch these on my nails because, well…they are super sheer. They make for fantastic layering but don’t do much on their own.
(l-r) Teal-y Cool, Set the Stage, Twinkle Twinkle

Next up on the “Pretty Sheer” list would be Pink-y Ring. A neon pink glitter that looks like it shoooould reach an opaque finish but falls short. I applied 3 coats here.

And then there’s Pumpkin Spice. If this shade doesn’t have to ready for Halloween, I don’t know what will.

The following three polishes are a lot more opaque with stunning foil-y finishes. There’s Teeny Greeny Bikini…who was smudged right in the middle of this photoshoot.

Time to Shine falls between a gold and silver polish. It’s the perfect blend of both colors.

Midnight Sky is by far my favorite of the bunch. Oh la la laaaa…

Which polish is your fav? Wait…I won’t make you choose, girlfriend. But what you should do is snag some of these if you’re lookin’ to add some spice to your nail polish collection. I mean, honestly…they’re only $3 a pop. Three cheers for recession-proof beauty! To be so affordable, I find this line of Sally Hansen polishes to be one of my favorites. The color selection is always exciting and the formula can’t be beat. Ooooh yeahhhh. 8)

Amor de Lacquer: Nicole by OPI. Target exclusives that you so need.

Finally! My nails want to act normal and not chip every 3.2 seconds. They aren’t as long as I’d like but they’re polishable and I’ll take ’em. I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed any Nicole by OPI polishes. Which is pretty funny because I’ve been loving this brand forever. Nicole is the younger and more affordable sister of OPI. While OPI polishes can go for $9-$10, you can snag Nicole for $7.

Check out some of the gorgeous shades sitting on Target shelves….

Green Up Your Act is one of my favorite Nicole by OPI polishes. This cream applies absolutely stunning. It reminds me of my murky hunter green.

If you’ve seen one foil-y bright red, you’ve seen them all. Doesn’t make this one any less purty though.

This blue reminds me of a pair of jeans I had when I was 15. They were these dark denim sparkly jeans. This polish is the perfect recreation of that fashion bomb.

I couldn’t quite capture the true color of this polish but it certainly isn’t purple like a grape. Not sure where Nicole by OPI got that one from. If anything, I found it to be a dark amber with bronze shimmer. It’s the perfect Fall color!

I used 2 coats for each polish and didn’t have any problems. You can grab these Target exclusive at Target stores and on Target.com.

Which shade is your fav?

A nail polish addict’s dream…

My nails have been on the fritz for quite some time. Hence why you haven’t seen an Amor de Lacquer post from me in a few weeks. Between my biotin and taking extra care of my nails, I hope to have strong nubbins sooner rather than later. So yeah…no nail polish posts on Clumps. But that doesn’t mean I’m not nail polish blogging at ALL.

Check out the post I did on Beauty Stat about the oh so amazing Julep. Haven’t heard about this all-natural nail polish lines? Brace yourself for this one, lovelies. This is exactly what us nail polish addicts need.

Amor de Lacquer: Essence’s polishes- 99 cents but 100% aweseome.

Oh. snap. Those were my words the minute I saw just how beautiful Essence Colour & Go nail polishes I applied. Have y’all heard of this affordable brand? They are located in Ulta and I am just lovin’ everything I’ve discovered so far. Their mascaras aren’t half bad and the polishes are totally worth the 99-cent price tag. And I’m not even kidding. These babies are less than a dollar per bottle. Cool, uh?

Premiere Orlando 2011

Yep, I went to the enormous beauty trade show known as Premiere Orlando again this year. This is my third time going and I still NEVER really prepare myself for this ginormous affair that is this show. I did, however, make a list of the brands that I wanted to check out which made tackling the show a looooot easier. Hit the jump to see what I discovered at Premiere Orlando.

Happy 4th of July Splatter manicure!

I can’t even lie…it’s been awhile since I’ve been this EXCITED over a nail polish look. But after I saw it on Once Bitten who saw it on Getcha Nails Did who saw it on The PolishAholic (gotta love blogger networkin’), I just had to give it a try. I used Sally Hansen’s Thinking of Blue, China Glaze’s Ruby Deer and for the base, China Glaze’s White on White. To give it a bit of spark, I applied China Glaze’s White Cap.

Pretty grovy look, uh?

I typically don’t post Mascara Mondays on holidays so look for the next mascara review to be up next week. In the meantime, let me know if you give the splatter manicure a try. Keep in mind, it’s the messiest manicure that you’ll ever do. PolishAholic has step-by-step tutorial that I found super helpful.

If you’re in the States, have a Happy 4th of July!!
