Zoya Tickled Collection

Sweet and creamy and made for Summer, Zoya’s Tickled collection was sent to me with the Bubbly collection. These shades are all bright and will absolutely satisfy the color fanatics of the world.

Zoya Tickled

See what I’m talkin’ about?

Zoya Rocha

Rocha is a red cream with warm undertones. It has a good amount of orange in it and while it isn’t wildly unique, it’s a fun mix between red and orange.

Zoya

Rooney is a magenta pink cream but really I find it to be notch up from baby pink. I’ve never been a fan of pink nail polishes and I really want to hate this one but it is kinda growing on me. I’ve got to find a pretty top coat to layer over it.

Zoya Tilda

Tilda is a fantastic warm mantis green that looks more like a Granny Smith apple cream. Really, it is far more warmer and has a touch of white in it. It’s a great green and not one that I think Zoya has in their green lineup.

Zoya Wendy

Oh Wendy. I’m thinking this juicy summer melon will be a hot pick among many summer pedicure pickers. It’s a pretty average shade and is like a mature bubblegum but I’m sure this girl will look great on the toes.

Zoya Ling

Ling is a beautiful vibrant royal blue. I’m a lover of blues and this is perfect and fitting for those who want to take baby steps into wearing blues.

Zoya Kirtridge

Kitridge is the only polish that I had to apply 3 coats of. If Wendy is a mature bubblegum pink, Kitridge is the teenage bubblegum pink.

And then altogether in harmony.

Zoya Tickled collection

I’m a fan of this collection but really it’s Kitridge and Tilda that rock my socks. Formula, as always, was perfect and it seems like with every collection they release, Zoya just gets better and better on the formula front. Are any of these shades are callin’ ya? You can get the entire collection at Zoya.com for $54 for all 6 polishes for $9 a bottle.

My Sparkling New KBShimmer nail polishes

KBShimmer

I don’t follow many nail polish blogs but I do live on Pinterest and ohmigoodness, every other day I would run across a pin showcasing a KBShimmer nail polish. Every time I turned around one of my beauty blogger friends was raving about the brand and I finally decided to take the jump and so I ordered three polishes.

KBShimmer nail polish

Okay, three polishes is nothing but at $7.50-$8.75 a polish, I really wanted to get a feel of the brand before I shelled out a ton of money. That said, I’m a big fan! Pt Young Thing got so much love from many bloggers and so I knew I had to scoop up that silver holographic. And I see why it is well loved.

KBShimmer Pt Young Thing

It’s a stunning holo. I don’t think it is any more holographic than some of my other silver holos, but it is pretty nonetheless. The formula is fantastic and while you can get away with 2 coats, I applied 3 for an extra measure.

KBShimmer A Touch of Glass

I’m not sure why I felt like I had to get A Touch of Glass. This light aqua mint cream isn’t heavily unique but I think I am a sucker for shades like this. Zoya’s Wednesday is a darker version of this but I think I like A Touch of Glass more. I love how glossy it is without needing a top coat.

KBShimmer Low and Be Bold

Low & Be Bold is by far one of the most stunning cobalt blues that I’ve ever owned. It is just soooo lovely! And don’t let my camera fool you. It is really much more vibrant in person. The jelly almost cream finish is just perfect.

I love supporting indie brands and will definitely be keeping an eye out for KBShimmer. And if nothing else, I have got to get some of those gorgeous glitters. She makes some of the best glitters I have ever seen!

Have you ever tried anything from KBShimmer?

Disclosure: I purchased these items with my own money, honey.

OPI Full-Size Neon Nail Polishes

Your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. OPI has already given us neon polishes before. But these, darlings…these are FULL-SIZE neon shades that will live in their permanent line. So while I think you should rush off and get these, you don’t have to.

OPI OPI Full-Size Neon Nail Polishes

I got these samples on my hands (haha, literally) just last week and couldn’t wait to share them with you.

OPI You are So Outta Lime! polish
You Are So Outta Lime is a gorgeous bright green that I find isn’t insanely neon. Is it bright? Yes? But neon? Yeee..wellll….not so much. The formula is fantastic and it has such a creamy lime feel to it. I hope that made some kind of sense. Probably didn’t though, huh?

OPI Juice Bar Hopping polish

Juice Bar Hopping is a tangerine orange that is definitely BRIGHT. I adore this. I love orange polishes anyway but this orange, I think, will be an ideal pedicure color this summer. It isn’t traffic cone orange but it is certainly just a small notch down.

OPI Hotter than You Pink
Hotter Than You Pink is the only kind of pink that I like. This pink is so pink that I’m callin’ it pank. She is hot pink and obnoxious and I am so here for it!

OPI Push & Pur-Pull
Push & Pur-Pull is one of those deep purples that have a bit of magenta in them but are still a true purple. Does that sound crazy? Okay, maybe but there really is no way to describe how stunning this purple is. It isn’t unique. In fact, I have another one just like it. The formula is a bit wonky and it was hard to get it to apply evenly but whatever. It is still so stunning.

OPI Down to the Core-al
Down to the Core-al is a very bright and loud coral. It’s so so pretty and unique in that you never really see neon corals.

OPI Life Gave Me Lemons
Life Gave Me Lemons is a very neon-y yellow/green that was tough to photograph but is definitely a true neon. I think it applied better than all of the other shades. After putting down the white base coat, I found it to be smooth and opaque after only 1 coat. Niiiice!

Aside from Down to the Core-al, Life Gave Me Lemons, Hotter Than You Pink and Juice Bar Hopping, the rest of these aren’t true neons. They are definitely bright and stunning shades but true neons? Nope. Lovely nonetheless and I’ll be wearing them nonstop this summer. You can also get Put a Coat On!, OPI’s white color-boosting base alongside this collection. I used Put a Coat On! underneath each of these polishes but I also swatched them on a nail wheel and you’ll be happen to know that they apply just as nice without the white base coat.

You can get these babies anymore OPI polishes are sold. Aren’t they lovely?

Zoya Awaken collection

My girl Leandra over at Nail Polish Therapy did the honors of reviewing these samples of Zoya’s Awaken line. I am soooo here for her gorgeous nails and she has really done this collection quite the honor.

Zoya Awaken collection

Sweet, dainty and girly, this collection just yells whimsical. You’ve got your perfect subtle shades that are ideal for Spring, but they also make for great summer pedicures, as well.

Zoya Dot

Dot is a pink petal cream and it really reminds me of cotton candy. It’s one of those shades that you maaaay be able to deal with even if you aren’t a fan of the color pink.

Zoya Cole

Cole is a peach whisper cream and by far my absolute favorite of the bunch. It’s so hard to find a true and authentic orange sherbet shade that applies like buttah. Cole is IT!

Zoya Hudson

Hudson is described as a purple orchid metallic with a silver shimmer and it’s really one of those unexpected colors in a collection. I loooove a purple cream, but this purple metallic goodness here is just glorious.

Zoya Dillion

Dillion is a green mint metallic and is, of course, a sibling of Hudson. She’s just as fabulous and shimmery.

Zoya Rebel

Rebel is a blue sky metallic that is quite reminiscent of shimmery ocean water.

Zoya Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a white-gold shimmer metallic and how refreshing is it to have a yellow that isn’t a hot and streaky mess?

Applied like dreams, the kids of the Awaken collection are such a great fit in Zoya’s lineup. Also included is Monet. This multi-colored, cellophane holographic special effect topper is an additional $10 which is nice but I’m thinking you could probably go without it. Each bottle in the Awaken collection retails for $9 a pop and you can get the entire collection for $54 from Zoya.com.

Which shade is your fave?

I could wear my nails like this forever…

Pretty Skittles nails

First of all, I am proud of myself for doing something more than just a basic color. I lost myself for a second there. I used to be all konad’y and design’y and dang…I got lazy. But baby…I am back! Okay, granted this isn’t anything mega fancy, but still, it’s a big deal to me and I’m lovin’ it.

Classy Skittles nails

The one accent nail is just boring to me. I’ve been doing it for years and *yawn* I’m over it. And at the same time, I don’t always feel desirous of doing designs on each nail. Okay, I NEVER feel desirous of doing that. But something like this…

Zoya Skittles nails

It ain’t so bad. I am going to commit to doing a classy skittle nails look at least once a week. I am loving not only using different colors, but the pop from the white bubbles and then the subtle sea sparkle on the ring finger.

Sophisticated Skittles nails

I used:

Deborah Lippman I Know What Boys Like (blupurple)
Sinful Colors Beautiful Girl (pink)
China Glaze White on White (white)
OPI Mermaid’s Tears (the base color on the ring finger)
Zoya Maisie (this looks like the water in Playa del Carmem, Mexico. Really.)

Look at me. Doing my nails like a big girl. I’m so proud of myself.

GLOSSYBOX April 2014 – Was it worth it?

Another month means another peek at a GLOSSYBOX. I’ve been reviewing these for quite sometime and somehow, it appears that GLOSSYBOX seems to be one of the few beauty subscription boxes that is still a truckin’. The hype has died down for many, but lé gloss is still giving us gorgeous pickings for a smooth $21/month. I received this sample box a week or so ago and as always, the goal is to make sure that the samples provided are worth at least $20 or so. Aaaaand that they give a nice range of products.

GLOSSYBOX USA April 2014

At first glance, nothing stood out to me which was a bit sad as I always look forward to the Ohh La La factor that I get from a GLOSSYBOX.

GLOSSYBOX Ciate

As always, we’ve got 5 samples and that includes the following:

GLOSSYBOX Ciate polish

A bottle of Ciaté London Paint Pot. I’ve heard of this brand but haven’t ever used any of their nail polishes. I do know that they are on the higher end side of things so it’s nice to try a different brand. They regularly retail at $15 a bottle. And the shimmery gold of a shade isn’t too bad either.

GLOSSYBOX Aqua Spa

I’ve never heard of the brand Aqua Spa but their Relax Body Crème is a nice and thick lotion that I found slathered nicely over my dry skin. The lavender scent is nice, but heavily fragranced for me. A 9oz bottle of this regularly retails for $8.

GLOSSYBOX Bellapierre Cosmetics

Helllooooo Bellápierre Cosmetics. Each subscriber got a tube of their Vanilla Pink SUPER Gloss (retails for $24.50) and the cinnamon-y shade, I guess, is a safe shade for everyone. A bit boring for my taste, but I do dig how long it lasts.

GLOSSYBOX Bellapierre Cosmetics on lips

It also goes nicely with a brown lip liner.

GLOSSYBOX LaSplash Cosmetics

LA Splash Cosmetics Eyeshadow Sealer/Base is also in the box and outside of getting it in a GLOSSYBOX, you can expect to pay $9 for it. I love a good eyeshadow base but I have never seen one as sheer as LA Splash’s. I can’t wait to see how this works.

GLOSSYBOX Caldrea

…and lastly there is Caldrea Body Wash. An 11oz bottle of this will run you $18. I am loving the travel sized version of their body wash and the scent seems to be subtle enough to keep headaches at bay.

Once again GLOSSYBOX has given us products than more than go over $20. We’ve got a little somethin’ in the skin, makeup and nails department and I’m actually okay with not seeing anything for hair. Because helloooo…those hair products never worked for my hair type anyway. Another score for GLOSSYBOX. Click here to subscribe. That is an affiliate link so if you click it and purchase, I get a few monies. Not enough to retire, but hey…it’s a lil’ somethin’ somethin’.

Color Secrets Professional goodies

Emerald Green and Fuschia Pink

I recently received some Color Secrets Professional products and I have to say…I really like them.

Color Secrets polishes

Color Secrets Polishes are 100% vegan, cruelty free, and Big 3 Free. They have a great shine quality to them so if you do not have time to put on a top coat these are perfect for you. There will be 144 colors available for you to love and purchase for only $3.99 a pop.

Color Secrets lipglosses

When it comes to lipgloss I am as boring as you could get. I stick with the clears  and maybe a light shimmer. The shades didn’t have colors on them, but I loved them all! The pink adds a great pop of color that will brighten up any outfit and the shimmer has a subtle sexiness that highlights your lips. I carry these two with me everywhere. They are a tad sticky for my taste but still perfect.

Color Secrets mascara

Mascara is one of my favorite beauty products and something I will not leave the house with. I love mascara so much that I have a emergency tube in my car just in case I forget to put it on at home. Color Secrets Professional Rich Jewels Color Mascara is a lot of fun and something you will definitely want to purchase. I used the Fuchsia Pink and Emerald Green and I love it. It is not something that you would wear to work or during an interview, but it something fun to add when you are going out on the town. As much as I loved it, it is not the greatest lengthening mascara. My suggestion is put on your favorite mascara first to get your length and then put on the color mascara to get your color and length. The rich jewel mascara comes in 6 hues and they are only $3.99 each.

Eggplant and Emerald Green

Along with the colorful mascara Color Secrets has rich jewel gel eyeliner which is gorgeous. I am just now learning how to use gel eyeliner and I love how smooth and easy this is. At a price of $5.99 this might turn into my go to gel eye-liner.

Color Secrets Professional products are available at select Walgreens locations and available online .

Do you see yourself using Color Secrets Professional products?

butter LONDON doesn’t just sell polishes. But you knew that…right?

So butter LONDON makes more than just nail polish. Did you know that? I knew but then I forgot. They do nail polishes so well that I’ve never really had to the desire to spend my money on any of their other products. Years ago I tried their lipgloss and it was so insanely fragranced that I vowed to never try any of their Lippys again.

Butter London

Well, that was forever and a day ago and I couldn’t NOT try these samples that I got in the mail. I’m no fool. bL has lips, cheeks and eye products but when you visit their site, you’ll see that it’s really the nail products that they display.

Butter LONDON Cosmetics

Not that I’m complain’. There’s a reason why I collect buttahs. But let’s take a closer look at some of their other beauties.

The Wink Eye Pencils are a lot like the eye pencils from many other brands. Nothing fancy but the formula is nice, smooth, build-able and it doesn’t budge. Like at all.

Butter LONDON Wink

My swatch of Cheerio (a gilded yellow shimmer) stayed put a few minutes after application. I don’t really know how to wear yellows well, but honey, I’ll be trying because this is gorgeous. It goes for $18.

Butter LONDON Cheerio

bL also has a nice selection of creamy eyeshadows. Okay, so honestly…I’ve never been a fan of these type of products. My lids are insanely oily and I have the toughest time getting these creamy products to adhere. Still, Sun Kiss WINK Cream Eye Shadow is nice and muted gold that will complement many skin tones. It also goes for $18. And back to the Lippys…

Butter LONDON Lippy

GOOD NEWS! They don’t smell like flowers on speed anymore. Yay! The subtle whiff of vanilla didn’t trigger a headache and all was well. It’s a thick gloss and like many sheerer glosses like this, the color in the tube does not translate on your lips.

Butter LONDON Lippy Twee

Yeah. I kinda hate when that happens. If the tube is pink, I want pink, bro! But hey, Twee is cool with me. The added moisturization kept my normally ashy lips in check and for that, I am grateful. Such awesomeness will run you $20. And then there’s Chuffed…

Butter LONDON Chuffed

I won’t spend too much time here because we already know how much I want bL to run for President, but yeah…this full coverage, shimmery bright orange is stunnning.

Overall, I think butter LONDON does well with cosmetics. The price points are a bit higher than I think they should be, but fans will appreciate the diverse colors, great formulas and nice collections that they come out with.

Have you tried anything other than nail polish from buttah?
