Last Q-tips Tipster Post + Giveaway! Sephora gift card. (3 winners!)

Welp, it’s my very last Q-tips video and giveaway. Can y’all believe it’s been almost a year since I was selected to be a Q-tips ambassador? I have been spreading the gospel about the awesomeness that are these cotton-y stick thingies and just because my term is ending doesn’t mean I’ll stop braggin’ about them.

This video showcases 5 ways I like to use Q-tips while traveling. I’ve been working on limiting what I pack with me and whaddya know…you can actually save space by leaving some of your makeup brushes behind and just packing some Q-tips. The video is a bit jumbled up but what can I say? I’m so rusty. I don’t think I’ve done 5 videos this whole year. Meanwhile, years ago, I’d do 1 video a week. Ack!!

Let’s jump to the good giveaway stuffs. You know the deal! Give the good ole’ Rafflecopter some time to load.

Good luuuuuck!

Red lips ‘n Q-tips + Sephora.com gift card giveaway (2 winners!)

Time for another Q-tips post and giveaway! I feel like I total crazy person for not remembering what makeup artist I heard this from (was it Sam Fine, Bobbi Brown, Tia Williams, Napoleon Perdis…who?!) but a while back I heard that dabbing red eyeshadow over red lipstick can help said lipstick last longer. Say what? And I mean, it makes complete sense. It’s one of those things that when you hear it, you’re like, “Wha?! Why didn’t I think of that?”

So of course when the time came to do another Q-tips post, I figured I’d show y’all how using Q-tips can indeed help make a red lip last longer.

First up, choose a fabulous red lipstick.

I mean, you do have some, don’t you? If not – that’s another post in itself. Hehe! I’m using Revlon’s Certainly Red. It’s been my go to red lipstick all summer. Apply said red.

Certainly Red has a semi-matte finish, which I find makes applying the eyeshadow easier. After application, I grab a red eyeshadow like NARS Emmanuelle.

Swirl a Q-tip around in the eyeshadow and gently dab on the lips. I looks as if both the Precision Tips Q-tips and regular Q-tips work just fine for applying the eyeshadow.

I find that dabbing the shadow in the middle of the lips works best as that’s the area I tend to see fade first. If you get a good amount of eyeshadow on the Q-tip, you won’t have to worry about any fuzzies. Which is fantastic! Of course this trick really only works if you don’t intend on applying lipgloss on top of your lipstick. I’m a fan of non-glossy red lips!

Pretty cool lil’ trick, uh? And yeah, I blame pregnancy hormones for making my skin break out the way it is. Could it be that I’m having a little girl who is trying to steal my beauty? Hmmm….

And nooooow, zee giveaway! TWO lucky Clumps of Mascara readers will each score ONE $50 Sephora.com gift card. Answer the mandatory question in the Rafflecopter (you must submit a comment to do this) and increase your chances of winning by doing the other tasks.

Note: Give the Rafflecopter a few seconds to load. If you’re rather submit your entry via email, please do so by emailing me at Brittany @ClumpsOfMascara.com.

Nail Art with Q-tips

Sooooo remember when I did that post about moving? Yeah well, before and after said move, 6 out of 10 of my nails broke off. 6, y’all. And I mourned each lost. I love me some nail polish and took great pride in my long and pointy nails. But all things must come to an end and I’ve been learning how to love my nubs. Especially since I’ve learned how to make them all fancy using Q-tips Precision Tips.

Yeah noooo. My obsession with these Q-tips have yet to cease. But thanks for asking. If you are a no frills kind of gal when it comes to nail art, you’ll love this look. It’s simple, don’t require a Ph.D. and it takes very little time to do.

If you’ve got some nail jewels layin’ around and want to fancy up a bit using ‘em, Q-tips can help.

I’ve always struggled with applying these little jewels. Tweezers do a great job at picking them up but then I struggle with placing them on the nails. Orange wood sticks work OK but it takes forever getting the jewels to stick to them. Q-tips Precision Tips, however? They work wonderfully…

Simply wet the Q-tip with just a bit of water…

Pick up your jewel…

And slowly apply it to desired location.

The Q-tip leaves behind your jewel without any lint. Pretty cool, uh?

VIDEO: Using Q-tips to exfoliate lips

Soooo I’ve finally come out of the hole and did a YouTube video. It’s been a few months since I’ve done one but there’s nothing like an ambassadorship to motivate me to do one. In this video, I am showing you how useful Qtips Precision Tips can be when used to exfoliate lips and cleaning up lipstick mistakes.

And because it’s me, there’s random singing, accents and silliness. Yeah – some things will never change. In this video, I feature 2 of my favorite multi-purpose ingredients coconut oil and brown sugar. The Qtips do a great job at allowing me to get in the inner corners of my lips. I know what you’re thinking.

“B, can’t you just use your fingers?”

Nope. Coconut oil melt with the quickness when it hits the skin so using the Qtips Precision Tips has been niiiiice.

Let me know if you plan on trying this lip scrub. Oh! And did I mention that it’s edible too? Weeee! Stay tuned for my next Qtips post. I’ll be giving away some major beauty stuffs! And in the meantime, be sure to follow Qtips on Facebook!

Pop a pimple with Q-tips and win $50 to Sephora!

Acne sucks. So much so that I’ve named a series after them called….you guessed it, acne sucks. I’ll save my “It’s not fair that I’m 27 and battle acne as if I’m a teenager” speech another time.

Okay, wait….can I get just a few complaints in?

Seriously – what gives? I drink more than enough water, eat greens like I’m a plantasaurus (I so made that up) and treat my skin with the utmost respect. So why doesn’t my skin no like me? *sigh* Your guess is as good as mine. With skin like mine, I HAVE to stay stocked up with Q-tips Precision Tips.

We all know how great Q-tips are for angling eyeshadow, but my ambassadorship has challenged me to find another way to use Q-tips. Have you tried the Precision Tips for targeting pimples? Dude. They work! And luckily, I’ve got a pimple (or 10) to demonstrate how. You’ll never again see me using the words “luckily” and “pimple” in the same sentence again so cherish that one, okay?

Le pimples….

Sexy, uh? Le pimples meets Sire Q-tip Precision Tips…

Using a Q-tip to target pimples is rad. I mean, yeah, I can use my finger but the Q-tip gives me more….precision. And you need that precision for when you’re using products that only need to touch the pimple. Like tea tree oil. Tea tree oil zap my pimples with the quickness but it irritates the skin around it. No offense fingers but you ain’t got nothin’ on these Q-tip cuties.

Oh, and did I mention that the Q-tips Precision Tips are quite useful for putting medicine on pimples that pop up in my nose and ears? Yes. I am currently battling a pimple that is up my left nostril. I love y’all too much to show a picture of that. Trust me on this one.

Because misery loves company, share with me what you’d put on your Q-tips Precision Tips to get rid of of a pimple. A lucky girl or gal will score a $50 giftcard to Sephora. Wooooot!
