Stila’s Makeup Player

Stila poses this question,

“What if you could download make-up lessons at the click of a button?”

Stila’s Beauty Tube makes this happen, y’all! I had the opportunity to test drive this nifty make-up player and um…..wow.

How innovative! And perfect for those looking to perfect their make-up skills WHILE watching helpful vids.

Each kit comes with cds with tutorials that can be downloaded on your MP3 player.

You also get some of your favorite Stila products to play around with. I LOVE the lip glazes. But you already knew that from previous FOTDs like this one.

And when you’re not following along with the tutorials you can rock out to music. I found this perfect for road trippin’. I can get ready for a night out on the town while blastin’ music.

Very cool, I know. With the holidays rolling around, I’m thinkin’ this is the perfect gift for the new make-up lover in your life. You can find out more about the player here. It is currently going for $69.00….pretty reasonable when you consider what you’re getting.

Stila Barbie Smudge Pots

Y’all know I’m a Stila girl. It’s no surprise really. I enjoy many of their products and have hailed the Lip glaze as one of my favorite glosses on the market. Which says a lot considering there are A LOT of glosses on the market.

And my crazy self feels as if I need to review them all. HA!

But I digress.

I had my eyes on these smudge pots since I first got the press release about them. The colors just called my name. I don’t have many gel liners despite my affinity for them. I love Lancome‘s and MAC’s Fluidlines have always been a staple for me. L’Oreal HIP’s are a bit dry and Clinique’s are too smudge-y.

I find that Stila’s smudge pots work great not only as bases but as liners are well. And look how beautiful the Barbies collection ones are!

Stila’s smudge pots are hot stuff. I tweeted a photo of them when I was in Miami.

Little Black Dress (it has pink sparkles in it!)
Cobalt Clutch
Purple Pumps

Purple Pumps is the greatest thing since….I don’t know, it’s just great! I’ve been wearing it almost every day I’ve had it. I have never seen such a beautiful purple cream liner.

I even wore it at Blogalicious ’09 this past weekend.

I cut out my homie Luvvie of that photo but
I’ll re-post it with her fabulous self in it. :)

I’m in love the smudge pots. I’ll be back showing you how fabulous Cobalt Clutch looks. In the meantime, check them out here. You can snag them from Sephora, Sephora.com or Stila.com for $20/each.

The Makeup Show NYC, Installment 7-Stila Cosmetics

Clumps of Mascara veterans know I am a truly a Stila Girl. Have been for quite some time. I love Stila for their cosmetics AND for their relationship with their customers. It’s a special thing when a company actually recognizes their customers.

At The Makeup Show NYC I got to get a sneak peek of the gorgeous Indian Summer collection.

Divine, right?

Each product is to make a gal feel as if she is wearing a piece of jewelry.

I played around with the 24K Appreciation gloss . Awww, look at Stila—naming a gloss “Appreciation” because they really appreciate their customers and fans. That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Before I go on an overload of emotions, check out the photo shoot of Lady Appreciation.

Okay, I so love the arrow. Without it my crazy self would be
turning to the left. And for hours at that. HA!

And it is pretty!

At first glance, I thought that these would be similar to MAC’s Dazzleglass but they aren’t. They aren’t as thick and the glitter is not as “glittery”–making it a little more work appropriate.

And guess who I ran into at The Makeup Show? The official Stila ladies. That’s the owner Lynn Tilton in the middle. She’s a Florida girl too. Heyyy!!
….and don’t say a word about my foundation-y face. Minutes before this photo I was testing some colors and they uh, weren’t quite right. But I’m cheesin’ like it doesn’t matter. Gotta love it!

I love my Stila!! You can snag that 24K gloss here.

Barbie Loves Stila: Foxy Doll

Hello darlings!

Remember this post when I mentioned how much I needed to have the one of those Barbie for Stila cans? Never have I been so attracted to such the packaging of a beauty product.

Okay, that’s a lie. A great deal of my make-up purchases have been because of the packaging of the products. Only true beauty fanatics can co-sign on that kind of addiction.

Anywhoovers–imagine the tears that fell when I found out that the Foxy Lady was sold out.
And then she reappeared. Because I was en route to Washington D.C., I had no access to my computer and used up ALL of my daytime minutes contacting my Mom and best friend in Los Angeles.

Oh wait….I think I also contacted my good friend in Atlanta too (didn’t I, K?). I needed anyone to get their hands on that Foxy girl for me.

But no one could…or so I thought.

But there is wonderful thing called Mothers, family. They pretty much ALWAYS save the day.

My Mommy managed to score me a Foxy girl can!

How darling is that? And the palette isn’t so bad…

To the far left you have a nice cheek color and the next two are eyeshadow colors that are definitely brown girl friendly and wearable. See….they show up pretty nicely.

These colors aren’t terribly unique but it was really the can that I was after….not the products. That’s right….I’m a collector of all cosmetic products that have brown women sportin’ afro’s on them.

If you were unable to snag the Foxy Doll, the other ones are available. Better grab those before they sell out quickly too. Stila Cosmetics is one of my favorite cosmetic companies and I am so excited to see them pair up with Mattel to bring these beautiful collector’s items.

What do you think? Interested? Not so much? Whatcha think?

The Grown Lady who still likes Barbie,

This Day in Black History:

In 1964-After 12 days of debate and voting on 125 amendments, the U.S.
House of Representatives passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The bill prohibited any state or local government or public facility from denying access to anyone because of race or ethnic origin.
