Cos Bar now at Target!

Yo yo yo! Where my Target beauty lovers at? I have this ritual. Every Saturday morning after I leave the gym. I go to Target. For no real reason either. It’s own my way home. That’s reason enough, right? I also like to take some peeps at the new additions down the beauty lanes.

If you’re a regular Target beauty shopper, you see some awesome new finds from The Shops of Target. Target has partnered with several business owners of speciality stores to give customers the opportunity to purchase some really cool products. One of those businesses is Cos Bar.

Native to NYC, owner Lily Garfield moved to Aspen and launched Cos Bar. It’s a groovy brand and I’d love to see a boutique with products like these in my streets. The collection includes a ton of beauty baubles including body care products, bath accessories, beauty tools, manicure essentials and cosmetic bags. I’m featuring a few of the goodies from the line.

Oh! And if you’re a budget-conscious gal like moi, each product is under $20. Hollaaaaa!

Skincare wise, Cos Bar has everything from body washes to body butters. This Orange Citrus Body Butter ($6) smells divine…

….a little bit of Cos Bar history.

And ingredient-wise…

I thought this brand would be a little more on the preservative-free side but alas it’s not. :(

But still, it’s a fragrant body butter (and not overly fragrant either) that does a great job at bustin’ ash without the greasy feeling. So that’s good. For zee eyebrows, Cos Bar has these adorable tweezers…

For $4, they do a darn good job at a pluckin’! Careful though…after a few uses, the print started to rub off a bit.

Which made me drop a tear. I get emotional over things like that. Cos Bar also has falsies!

*gulp* I have yet to master the art of applyin’ and rockin’ lashes but I have declared 2012 as the year for when I start rockin’ the falsies. That said, stay tuned for a review of these. A pair of 3 falsies ain’t bad for $9. Am I right?

Cos Bar also has some nail polishes and y’all KNOW I’ve got to check those out. I’m anxious to do some more peering at peering at Cos Bar and since I’m at my neighborhood Target at least twice a week, that’ll be easy. I am so impressed with Target’s ability to show entrepreneurs some love by bringing their products in stores nationwide. As if I needed another reason to love big red. 8)

Shop at Target? Look for Clumps on the shelves!

Surprise!

This was the “surprise” that I tweeted about 8 months ago. I sent out a very suspicious tweet back in 2011 tellin’ folx to look out for “something”. It was crazy vague. But a week ago – they finally hit the stands.

“They” being Maybelline’s Best of Beauty Blog’s displays in Target stores nationwide. Each row features a quote from a beauty blogger. And of course I just had to throw my 2-cents in on the greatness that is Maybelline’s Great Lash LOL mascara. I mean, it only makes sense, right?

Without getting too emotional – this is such a big deal to me. I’ve been blogging on Clumps for what will be 5 years in June. Wow. And while I don’t aim to be all “celebrity-ish”, my goal is to leave footprints. I don’t want to be just another beauty blog. I want to be inspirational. I want to crush stereotypes. And this display does so much for me. It let’s the world know just how powerful us bloggers are. How our voices matter. This display is like another step in the right direction for bloggers everywhere. Just like the Bloggers’ Obsession collection from MAC Cosmetics was. It’s a good time to be a beauty blogger and I’m so glad that I invested my time in doing something I truly love.

I’ve never been prouder to be a grad school dropout.

Which sounds horrible, I know but for years I was forcing myself to do what I thought I SHOULD have been doing instead of what I truly wanted to do. But alas, everything happens for a reason and little gems like this remind me of that.

If you spot this display in your city, take a picture and send it to me or upload it to the Clumps Facebook page. And lots of love to my fellow beauty blogging sister Amber from Beauty Junkies Unite who also made it on the display. Woot!

Oh! And in other Target beauty news…did you know the Boots section of Target has a mirror and disposable tissues and cotton swaps?

Cauuute, right? I love Target. So so much.

Ciao lovelies! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

P.S. – I totally forgot that it was April Fool’s Day here in the States so no, this is totally for real. Like fo real fo real. 8)

Jemma Kidd’s Lip ID Color-Adapt Lip Gloss

Back when I was in that Target Beauty Contest, I had the opportunity to try out a ton of Jemma Kidd products. If you’re a Target store stalker like I am, you’ve seen JK’s products on the shelves, uh? I always thought they were a little too expensive for my taste  but the good news is…I’ve found most of the products to be worth your pennies. Take this gloss for example…

Remember Smashbox’s O-Gloss Intuitive Lip Gloss? I thought it was the coolest thing since almond milk. JK’s Lip ID Color-Adapt Lip Gloss has the same concept. The gloss goes on clear and then changes to a pink-y hue on your lippies. Know what I don’t like though? The gloss’s applicator…

It just looks…unpretty. I don’t know, I’ve never seen a lip gloss with a mouth like that. It didn’t affect the application in any way but it’s not the prettiest lip gloss I’ve seen. I totally love the consistency of the formula though! It’s thick enough to where it brought about a ton of moisture to the lips but wasn’t too thin to where it seeped between my lips. The formula is a lot like Smashbox’s.

My bare lippies…

Lippies after applying Lip ID Color-Adapt Lip Gloss

Meh. Not the biggest shot of color but it’s nice enough. $20 is a bit of a stretch for a gloss at Target though. Especially considering Smashbox’s is $2 more. But if you’re in the market for a nifty and super moisturizing gloss, I’d give this one a whirl. Oh! And I used to think that whole “going on clear and changing color on the lips” thing was magic, but nahhh….it goes on clear and changes colors on white paper too. *shrugs*

Have you tried any of Jemma Kidd’s products? You can grab this one at Target stores and on Target.com.

I need your vote!

Not because I’m running for President. The White House so isn’t ready for me. *flips hair* 8)

No no no, darlings. It’s not that. It’s Target Beauty’s Biggest Fan contest. I messed around and entered it. Can you believe that? I’m a low key kind of gal and very rarely do contests that require begging people to vote for you. But who knows! I just may win. 20 selected entries will be selected to proceed to the next stage. And from there, FOUR will win a $500 gift card to Target. If I win, a percentage of my winnings will go to the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. So what do ya say?

You can vote for me once a day until May 17th. Tell your friends, family, dogs and cats. Let’s get Clumps of Mascara to the White Hou–errr, next round. Hit the image below to vote. Thanks for the support!

Mascara News: Maybelline’s retro and Hello Kitty mascaras

Soooo, instead of doing  a mascara review EVERY Monday, I’ve been thinking talking about all of the happ’ns in the Mascara World. You know, deals, sales, upcoming mascaras, mascara ads, mascaras commercials from the 70’s and all other randomness about the one product that women spend millions of dollars on annually.  And yes, I capitalized Mascara World like it exists. I reside there. You laughin’ at me? :)

I took a stroll in Target a few days ago and saw some kids that I THOUGHT were being pulled from the shelves.
