The Makeup Show Orlando and the awesomeness that ensued!

Ohmigoodness, The Makeup Show Orland was epic, y’all. I mean, I knew it would be a big deal but when the day actually came, I was floored. I didn’t even get to do half of what I wanted to do at this show. Which sucks. Walking big beauty shows is already a daunting task but it’s a freaking workout when you’re 7 months pregnant.

Sometimes I forget that I’m pregnant. It sounds crazy, I know but my belly isn’t ginormous so I feel like I can do the same things I did pre-pregnancy. Um no. My poor feet got all swollen (sexy, uh?) and fatigue hit me within only a few hours of being at the show. But I did what I could picture-wise when I was there.

The show was held at The Peabody Hotel in Pointe Orlando. There were more than 60 brands in attendance and we would have seen more except Hurricane Sandy messed things up a bit. But the vendors that were there were welcomed by over 2,000 beauty professionals. But first things first. My girls Courtney of Phyrra.net and Cristina of Let Them Have Polish and I, along with Koren of EnKore Makeup and Elessa of Pursebuzz rocked our beauty blogging panel.

I mean, rocked! The crowd was packed and the 5 did such a great job at answering questions and keeping the crowd interested. Shortly after the panel, I chit chatted with a few Clumps of Mascara lovers and then flewwwww to Elessa’s booth.

Please check out her Hello Kitty shoes. *faints* I stocked up on her glitzy and shimmery jewelry and baubles.

And then I made my way over to Tia Dantzler’s booth.

Words can’t express how much I love celebrity makeup artist Tia Dantzler. I first met at a blogging conference and have been loving her ever since. Aside from being crazy talented, she is such an inspiration to makeup artists everywhere. She recently released her FIRST makeup DVD. But more about that later.

The sea of vendors…

It’s pretty lame of me to not have many pictures of me with my beauty blogging sisters. In fact, I only have a few.

Shortly after linking up with some of my girls, I ran into Cat getting her makeup matched at AJ Crimson’s booth. He recently launched a foundation line and the shades were people of darker hues. Holla!

The Make Up For Ever booth is always doing something spectacular at beauty shows.

And then I stopped by the Cult Nails booth!

I am obviously a member of this cult so I was so excited for Maria and her super supportive husband.

And that about wraps up my photos. Pretty pathetic, I know. I had an amazing time and I’m so glad that that the show made its way to Orlando. I’m actually thinking about going to The Makeup Show in NYC again. You know, if Baby Clumps will allow.

The Makeup Show NYC 2010 *pic heavy*

This will be one picture heavy post, kiddos. Instead of breaking up the show in installments like I did last year, I decided to do one big ginormous post of my experience. And of course I’ll be doing a ton of product reviews.

This year was all about networking with fellow beauty bloggers! And boy oh boy did I run into a lot of them. A lot of my fellow beauty bloggin’ sisters are really my friends. I love these girls even though I only see them a few times a year.

Recognize any of your favorite bloggers? Like last year, Make Up For Ever was runnin’ thangs.

And for good reason too. Their new HD blushes (picked up one)

And aqua creams (picked up one)

…are nothing short of amazing. Expect reviews on both. Inglot was also in the building.

I wasn’t as geeked up as I normally am over Inglot. Maybe the thrill is gone or maybe it was the 502 people that were crowding their booth. I managed to snap a shot of some of their mascaras.

I didn’t pick them up but I wonder how good they are.

I then strolled over to brands that I really wanted to try out. Brands like Mario Badescu.

This brand had me at hello with the Drying Lotion that I can’t stop bragging about. I’ll be reviewing them a lot more on Clumps. And for very good reason!

Ahh, body art is always a huge thing at the Makeup Show. One minute you could be standing to your homegirl and the next thing you know a lady like this rolls up on you.

Make-up is such art, uh?

While I was busy attending my best friend’s law school graduation in Florida Saturday afternoon, my college girlfriend Krys represented Clumps at the Blogger Preview. Krys is silly like me. I was telling her how crazy it would be if an iPad was as big as MacBook and could be used like a phone.

Uh, maybe you had to be there.

I missed a great deal of the seminars thanks to my inability to stay at one place for more than 3 minutes but I did snag 4 polishes from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.

Stay tuned for reviews! The super talented Eve Pearl came out again this year.

Did I miss anything?

Probably. More reason for you to stay tuned to see what other adventures The Makeup Show brought!

Quick shots from The Makeup Show 2010

Happy Monday, darlings!

Yes, yes…yours truly totally forgot to schedule a Mascara Monday. But don’t worry, I have SO many things to share with you that I hope you forgive me. *flashes huge smile*

I am having the BEST time here in New York at The Makeup Show NYC. Mind if I tease you with a few shots?

Colors colors!

Skin care, win care (I’m so lame, ha)!

Bloggers and friends. Life got better when I met the phenomenal bloggers behind Afrobella and All About The Pretty. Add the fabulous Lianne from The Makeup Girl to that list.

Yinka from Vex In City, Adina from Krasey Beauty and Brittany from Clu—yeah, you know that part. :)

The lunch date of beautiful and amazing and TALENTED ladies reppin’ Boston (Bawstun), DC, Brooklyn and the FLA!

Tis all for now, sweetums. I’m like SO behind schedule this morning. Amina from Coup de Couer and I are bunkin’ in Queens and we have to take the 7 train to the 1 train…or somethin’ like that. My navigation is really only limited to the A and C trains. I’ll probably get lost. HA!

Anything you’d like to me focus on at The Makeup Show NYC? Shoot me an email at Brittany@ClumpsOfMascara.com or tweet me and I’ll take pictures and get information just for you!

I shall return, lovelies! Have a great day!

The Makeup Show NYC 2010

Okay kids…who’s going this year? Of course your favorite Florida ball of sunshine is making the trek up to NYC this weekend to cover everything I can about The Makeup Show. I’m not sure how I’m feeling about NYC’s chilly weather so NYCers, please tell your city I’d like a mid-80’s, light breeze, no cloudy skies and no rain. Mkay?

No really…if you are going, I would love to meet you. Just promise you won’t act all funny if I make an un-funny joke. Ha!! If you have never gone or aren’t familiar with The Powder Group’s Makeup Show, it’s like…HUGE! It’s a big 2-day industry event open only to those in the makeup artist industry. That includes make-up artists (of course), cosmetology students, hair stylists, agents and more. Beauty/fashion editors and bloggers are also invited to get the skinny on all of the hot new products coming out from the brands.

Makeup brands and companies that will be in attendance are: MAKE UP FOR EVER, Inglot, Temptu Pro, Crown Brush, Alcone, Smashbox, Becca Cosmetics, Dermalogica, Embryolisse, Eve Pearl Cosmetics, Face Atelier, Graftobian, Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, Korres Natural Products, L’Oreal, M.A.C Cosmetics, Mai Couture, Mario Badescu Skin Care, Naked Cosmetics, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Senna Cosmetics, Shu Uemura, Three Custom Color, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics and much more.

Of course workshops will be in be in full effect too.

The show is from 9am-6pm daily and is at NYC’s Metropolitan Pavilion. For more information, check out the site here.

Follow me on Twitter and hopefully I’ll be able to sneak in a post or two from NYC.

See you there!

The Artist Summit Miami-Inglot Cosmetics=WHOA!

Time for some photo footage from The Artist Summit Miami!

When I saw the list of vendors, I was most excited to see Inglot Cosmetics. As many of you know, I fell in love with this brand a few months back in New York City. Check out that post here. As fate would have it, the brand is still ONLY available in New York as of right now. It has Canadian and Polish locations but as far as the U.S., a freestanding store only resides in NYC. I know, completely unfair.

So as you can imagine I RAN to them when I saw their spacious layout. Intern Bri did a fabulous job at capturing how I really feel about Inglot.

Seriously y’all…this brand is ridiculous. Ridiculous as in good, I mean. The colors, the packaging, the innovative styles, I just…I love it. Check it out!

I was modest and only hauled two interesting look test tube lippies.

The more I fall for Inglot, the more they upset me. Why can’t we order them online already? Man oh man! And I really do hate to tease y’all but hopefully sooner rather than later, Inglot will open their doors and allow everyone to play with and purchase their products.

I’m wishin’ on a star….

Stay tuned for more installments of The Artist Summit Miami!
