Why You Should Buy Wet ‘n Wild’s Fergie Lipstains

I feel like it has been forever since I’ve featured lip glosses on Clumps. I’ve really been wearing lipstick more these days but while rummaging around, I came across a few of these glosses that Wet ‘n Wild Cosmetics sent me some months ago. As an Amabassador for the brand, I have been so fortunate to get a peek of all of their newest products.

Wet n Wild Fergie Vicious Varnish High Shine Lipstain Collection

These lipstains launched months back and the color selection is just out of this word! I only have 5 of the shades here but there are more and they range from neutral/browns to hot pinks and reds. Great job with this, WnW!

Ideally, what I gathered from these is that they are intended to be applied like a gloss but have the staying power of a stain. BUT, they are also shiny which means you aren’t going to get that super dry feeling that you may get from a lipstain. It’s an appealing concept. Especially for those of us who have perpetually dry lips.

What I don’t like about these is the spatula-like applicator. They distribute an uneven amount of gloss on the lips and it takes a bit of blotting to even thangs out. Not a major downer but it is definitely something to note. Wear-wise, though, these are fantastic. I can easily get a good 3-6 hours of wear of ‘em while not having to worry about them coming off of the lips.

Even as the glossiness, fades away, the stain is still there. It works better than many higher-end stains that I’ve used! I didn’t have any issues with the scent and was happy to find that there wasn’t an overwhelmingly annoying smell or taste to them.

And hello, they are $3.49. Crazy cheap! And they are a lot better than their MegaLast glosses. I so wish Wet ‘n Wild would add these to their website, but nope…nada. You can’t purchase them online either so your best bet is to head to your local Walgreens or CVS and scoop ‘em up.

More Wet ‘n Wild MegaLast polishes

Yep! I’m back with more super affordable polishes from Wet ‘n Wild. I’ve done formal reviews of these before (check out this post) so I’m just going to show off these pretty babies. Sound good?

Coool…let’s go!

2% Milk has the best name ever because it’s SO dead on with the description of the polish. Not that you could ever get me drink milk. *gags* But nail polish wise, this is such a nice and milky jelly. It would be perfect for American manicures. Not that you could get me to wear one of those. I actually like how this looks solo.

DSC_1479

Haze of Love could best be described as a plum-y cherry. It’s a burgundy that is nothing spectacular but I seriously think cream finishes make everything better.

DSC_1493

Tropicalia is a coral and I had the most difficult time trying to photograph it. It looks hot pink but in real life it’s a coral that leans more on the orange side.

DSC_1507

Private Viewing is a pale pecan cream and it’s another polish that would probably look good with a French or American manicure of some kind.

DSC_1514

On A Trip is a blurple lavender cream. And she’s quite the stunner.

DSC_1521

Sugar Coat is a pale pink cream and like its similar siblings, it’s nothing particular special. I will definitely be using this polish for some jelly sandwiches though.

I used 2 coats for each polishes and the sheer creams (2% Milk, Private Viewing and Sugar Coat) could probably go for 3 to get more of an opaque finish. It’s hard to get them to apply evenly but if you’ve got the time, you’ll love the final look. Like all Wet ‘n Wild MegaLast polishes, these have the wide brushes that people like me love. And by ‘people like me’, I mean those of us with super wide nail beds.

You can grab these at most drugstores for only $2.99 a pop.

Wet n Wild Juicy Lip Balm – For Chicks With Lips!

Ooooh Wet ‘n Wild. You are still killin’ the beauty game with affordable cosmetics for us all. I could write a never-ending list of the things that I love most about Wet ‘n Wild. One of those thangs? I love how they have so many different products for consumers of various skill levels. You know how there are brands that have products that just don’t seem to be newbie-friendly? Naw. Wet ‘n Wild isn’t like that. They have glosses for the everyday beauty girl, lipsticks for makeup artists and then these lip balms for…everyone!

It is my belief that EVERYONE needs to have at least one lip balm on them at all times. And not just to be “cute” but because ashy and crusty lips isn’t becoming for anyone. This is a fact. Or a law. Or something like that…

There isn’t much to say about these because they’re just so self-explanatory. Watch…

-They’re cheap. Only $2.99 a pop.
-They’ll last you forever. I mean look how ginormous they are.
-They smell good. They’re fruity and delightful but not overwhelming.
-They’re moisturizing.
-They contain SPF. Why don’t all lip products contain this stuff?
-They’re cute. No really. They are.
-Everyone needs a lip balm…7-year olds to 77-year olds.
-They don’t taste bad. Don’t you hate how some balms have a terrible taste?

(L-R) Strawberry Fraise (light pink/cotton candy), Cherry Cerise (red), Raspberry Frambois (purple-y), Watermelon Pasteque (pistachio)

Despite their colors, they provide only a wee bit of tint. And I do mean wee bit. In fact, so little that my camera had a hard time picking it up. I like these mucho. I’ve got one in the beauty room that I use after doing lip swatches. It gives me a dose of moisture in between swatches. It doesn’t moisturize enough for hours on end but it gets the job done. Oh, and did I mention that they cheap. Yeah.

You can grab one or more of these babies at drugstores everywhere for only $2.99. I’ve been spotting them online at Walgreens.com.

Wet ‘n Wild’s $0.69 sale is oooon!

How gorgeous is that lippy? That’s Fuchsia with Blue Pearl and I picked that baby up for all of $0.69 at Walgreens last week.

Here’s the thing…a few of Wet ‘n Wild’s 99¢ items are going down to 69¢ for a limited time. That includes…

Aaaand of course the addict that is me had to scoop up some nail polishes.

Egglant Frost

…and Red Red

Granted I didn’t NEED either one of them but they didn’t break the bank so whatevssss.

Hope you can find this sale in your local drugstores.

Wet ‘n Wild’s Don’t Blink Pink lippy is ah-mazing!

I know I brag about Wet ‘n Wild a lot and I promise, y’all…I’m not exaggerating with this one. That sad thing is, back when I was a “I only buy higher end makeup snob.”, I laughed at WnW. I called their products cheap. And this was without having even tried them. What a loser, right? I’ve seen the light and now nothing can stop me from loving WnW.

Plus, you can’t knock a brand who has incredibly great nail polish for less than $2. I’m just sayin’…

Anywhoovers, check out this lippy…

This gorgeous stick of love goes by the name Don’t Blink Pink and has more personality than me after 2 sips of a wine cooler. I ain’t playin’. Swatches don’t lie.

DBP is described as a medium warm pink but for some reason, she looks super neon pink on me.

And that’s not the lighting. That’s how it looks in real life. Which is weird because I’ve seen this lipstick on gals of other complexions and it looks nothing like this. Madness, I tell you! Not that I’m complaining. DBP has some siblings that I will showcase soon but I had to single her out and show you her fabulousness. They’ll be popping up in drugstores this month for only $1.99. I know. I know. In-sane.

Just gorgeous. And since I am a genius who graduated Summa Cum Laude from a top Ivy League school in only 2 years, I accidentally broke off the lipstick.

I know. I’m so smart. By the way, I’m kidding about the Summa Cum Laude and Ivy League stuffs. I graduated without honors from a state college. Womp.

So yeah. All of that to say, keep your eyes peeled for Don’t Blink Pink. And who knows? Maybe I should do a giveaway for my International gals? Hmmm….

The amazing Wet n Wild Coloricon I Heart Matte Eyeshadow palette

Wanna hear a sad/embarrassing story? Back when I was first getting into makeup (you know…like a few years ago) I  walked into a MAC store for the first time and was totally mesmerized by their eyeshadow looks. No surprise there, right? Every artist’s eyes were flawlessly painted – almost airbrush like. Someone comes up to me and asks if they can help me and do you know what I say?

“I’d love to buy some of those airbrush eyeshadows.”

The look I received in return was something along the lines of  eek and rolleyes The “airbrush eyeshadows” I was referring to were matte eyeshadows. Duh. I didn’t even know. That said – every time I think of matte eyeshadows, I think of that totally awkward moment. Anywhoovers, how beautiful is this matte palette?

I know, right? I know! This baby isn’t new. Wet ‘n Wild released this Fall of 2011 and I am just now getting my hands on it. Good drugstore matte eyeshadows are so hard to find. The ones I’ve found have been chalky or lack the pigment good matte shadows have. But this palette? It’s alllllll that.

Sorry. I had to do it. The show comes on Teen Nick late at night and it has me all nostalgic. Gotta love growin’ up in the 90’s. Yes. Another diversion. I can’t stay focused to save my life. Bring on the swatches!

Why my camera sucks at focusing on more than one swatch at a time is beyond me. But how intense are those swatches? Retailing at $4.99, this I Love Mattes palette has everything good matte eyeshadows should have.

-Intensity
-Longevity
-Silky texture
-Build-ability (I made that work up)

These shadows feel like buttah. They apply effortlessly but of course you’ll need a nice sturdy primer to prevent them from creasing throughout the day. In fact, when I wear matte eyeshadows, I double up on bases. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion and and NYX’s Milk jumbo pencil. Between those two, the matte shadows last forevs.

I love the color selection in this palette too. You’ve got the nice neutral shades and then you’ve got some shades that will add some nice pop. I loves it. I loves it a lot. So much so that I’ve been wearing the neutral mattes allllllll week.

I don’t know what it is with me and this “allllll” thing. I’m in such a silly mood. But what else is new, uh? I did spot this palette in my neighborhood Walgreens a few days ago so while it’s a few months old, you may still be able to get your hands on it.

Do matte eyeshadows not rock or what?

Pretty Polishes: Wet ‘n Wild Cost Is No Issue

Check out this glitter bomb from the Wet ‘n Wild Ie Baby collection.

Infused with teal micro glitter and bright blue hexagon glitter, this polish reached opacity with only two coats.

Its formula is 10x better than Diamond in the Rough. It isn’t as chunky and really shines with a top coat thrown on top.

Hopefully you’re able to spot this $2.99 wonder in your neck in the woods. If not, check out Nouveau Cheap’s Interactive Map. This collection maaaaay be closer to you than you think. ;)
