The Gorgeous Zoya Irresistible nail polish collection

My nails have finally decided to stop acting crazy and you know what the means…I’ll be cranking out nail polish posts. I received this collection quite some time ago so the excitement for it has died down a bit but not in my beauty room. I’m not the biggest lover of foils and metallics but there’s something about these. They are just so beautiful…

GB and Zoya

See what I mean?

Zoya Bobbi

Bobbi is a hot magenta pink foil metallic. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a similar color like this from Zoya (then again…Zoya doesn’t really dupe themselves a lot) and if I haven’t, I’m making stuff up. Bottom line: it’s a fantastic super bright strawberry-ish shade. And it looks stunning on the toes. I’ve been wearing it 3 weeks straight now.

Zoya Rikki

Rikki is a fern green foil metallic. I would have loved if this green was a little richer but it’s not so bad. It applies beautifully.

Zoya Tinsley

Tinsley is a rose gold foil metallic and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a metallic like this. Of course we all know how much I don’t like the color pink but this is dainty, girly and just super sweet.

Zoya Hazel

Hazel is a full-coverage, blue green foil metallic. I don’t see much green in it. In fact, it definitely leans more on the blue side and reminds me of a stormy cloud. They should have really named the polish Stormy. Just sayin’…

Zoya Amy

Amy is a lot full-coverage, red orange foil metallic that looks a lot like China Glaze’s Riveting. It’s a stunning and insanely bright nail polish. It isn’t super unique but it is gorgeous nonetheless.

Zoya Kerry

Kerry is a full-coverage, yellow gold foil metallic. I’ve never been a fan of golds but somehow I can get down with yellow golds.

Okay so it’s not my favorite Zoya nail polish collection but it’s nice enough. It’ll definitely appeal to the bright nail polish lovers of the world. My faves? Bobbi, Tinsley and Amy. I think I prefer Zoya’s Stunning collection over this one. Then again I looooove creme nail polishes.

You can grab this collection from Zoya.com for $8/bottle or $48 for the entire collection.

Makeup Wars: Color Wars

This is probably the funniest (yes, that’s a word….for today) Makeup Wars ever! Each of us gals signed up for a color and we are going to be sharing some of our favorite products featuring that color. I picked purple! For the record, I don’t have a favorite color. And if I did it would be rainbow and since a rainbow has a TON of colors I’m not sure that really counts.

I know. I’m so complicated but picking a favorite color when there are so many beautiful ones out there just ain’t easy. I picked purple because there are just sooooo many gorgeous purple picks when it comes to the beauty world. Here are 3 of my faves.

Purple nail polish

I love love looooove purple nail polish. Especially when it is unexpected and has some kind of funky shimmer or whatnot. It’s hard to pick a favorite (especially since I did so in our last Makeup Wars post) but Zoya’s Aurora is by far the prettiest purple nail polish in the world.

DSC_1238

You can’t deny it. You KNOW you can’t. Sidenote: I sooooo miss my longer nails. Can’t wait until I can do this shape again.

Ah yes…purple lips. You either love ’em or hate ’em. I can easily get down with some purple lips and it was MAC’s All of My Purple Life that had me going bananas.

Pay no attention to my beach hurr but to that stunning purple gloss. Yas! Yas!

When it comes to eyes, I think purple eyeshadows look amazing on everyone – especially on brown eyed girls. Make Up For Ever’s #92 is epic. I mean, epic. I think I’ve lost this baby because I haven’t seen it in awhile but years ago (can’t believe it’s been that long since I’ve used it) but it was the bee’s knees back in the day. I took this picture back when I didn’t care much about photography.

That about does it…a few of my favorite purple picks. Of course I’ve got more but I don’t want to make this post insanely lengthy. I’ve always wanted purple hair but my jobs never allowed it. Womp. Check out the colors my other Makeup Wars sisters picked!

Zoya Stunning Summer 2013 collection

Zoya does it again! But they always do it, don’t they? This is 1 of 2 of their gorgeous summer collections. This collection is full of vibrant cremes that are nice and wearable and nice additions of their already stellar profile. I got these for review and I’ve been struggling to figure out which one is my fave…

Zoya Stunning nail polish collection

See what I mean?

Zoya Yana

Yana is a geranium pink and for someone who has never been thrilled by pink nail polishes, I just beyond in love with this one. It’s pink, yes, but there’s something special about this one. Who knows. Maybe I love it this much because I have an awesome gal pal named Yana. *shrugs*

Zoya Thandie

Thandie is a citrus orange. I’ll never get sick of orange nail polishes. Especially ones that remind me of orange sherbet. Yumzzzzz.

Zoya Rocky

Rocky is a serene blue. I think Zoya has done quite a bit of these so Rocky is pretty but she isn’t anything spectacular.

Zoya Micky

Micky is a gorgeous coral and I’m finally 100% really into corals these days. So I LOVE Micky. I really think corals like amazing on everyone.

Zoya Josie

Josie is a grassy green cream. She’s a pretty mint green. Not insanely unique but how can you really dislike a dusty green?

Zoya Darcy

Darcy is a sunny yellow and really has more of a richer and butter-y yellow hue to her. If that makes any sense. Like all yellows, she was tough to apply but stunning nonetheless.

I love this collection. But of course! I’m a lover of creme nail polishes. I found that 3 coats worked for these as 2 coats made them a bit streaky. They are stunning nonetheless and perfect for summer.

Zoya PixieDust nail polishes – summer edition!

I know I JUST reviewed Zoya’s PixieDust nail polishes but I was beyond excited about this collection and couldn’t wait to share it with you. Zoya is giving us more of those awesome PixieDust nail polishes in 6 new and beautiful shades. I received them for review and I am beyoooond in love with these little ladies. They have the same formula as the previous PixieDust nail polishes, of course.

Zoya Pixie Dust-Summer Edition

And they are just as fine!

Zoya Miranda

Miranda is a rose sparkle with a ton of magenta POW. This is my favorite shade out of the bunch. I just love juicy fruit punch-y shades like this.

Zoya Beatrix

Zoya Beatrix nail polish

Beatrix is a tangerine that fits in nicely with her sisters.

Zoya Destiny

Zoya Destiny nail polish

Destiny is a bright orange coral that will look stunning on all complexions.

Zoya Solange

Solange is a gold metal sparkle and I should love this one but it’s just okay to me. Maybe she’ll have to grow on me a bit…

Zoya Liberty

Liberty is a goooorgeous bright blue. And of course she’ll give you stained fingers if you don’t you a base coat.

Zoya Stevie

Stevie is a sweet lavender. She’s the safest of the bunch.

Price: $9/bottle or $54 for the collection

Zoya PixieDust nail polish collection

2013-03-20

Say hello to one of the most popular nail polish collections of the season! The textured nail polish trend is like…huge and Zoya’s Pixie Dust is one of the leaders in spearheading this trend. Like most nail polish trends, when it comes to the textured look, you either love it or don’t. I happen to be a fan of the sparkly matte bumpy look so these are right up my alley. DSC_6900

Chyna is a red dazzle sparkle and this is probably my favorite out of the bunch. She would probably look dynamic alone but man, I love how sparkly she is even with a dull matte finish.

DSC_6907

Nyx is a periwinkle sparkle and she is one of the lighter shades in the collection. I found that the matte look wasn’t as apparent but it’s still a very pretty and Spring appropriate shade.

DSC_6915

Godiva is a soft nude sparkle and she looks a little funky on my complexion. Pretty still? Yes. It’s the kind of shade I’d wear to work if I wanted something with a subtle pop.

DSC_6923

Dahlia is my second favorite because dang, look at that sparkle! It looks a lot like charcoal but the sparkle is just so unique and pretty.

DSC_6936

Vespa is just as sheer as sheer as Nyx and has a nice mint appearance to her. I don’t know if I’m a fan of the PixieDust formula on lighter shades.

DSC_6943

London is a fog gray that rocksssss.

Application of these were niiiice. I didn’t have any problems whatsoever. And you would think that removal would be horrific a la removing glitter nail polish, but nope, I didn’t have any issues at all. I’m all over this collection and since Zoya has announced that they’ll be coming out with more PixieDust polishes for the Summer and I am going to be all over those. What do you think? Are you a fan of the textured nail polish look or not so much?

Makeup Wars: Green, Baby. Green!

Piccies

This installation of the Makeup Wars is alllll about greens. I wanted to crank out an awesome green look but I’ve been down and out with a terrible  cold. Aaaand, Baby Clumps has a cold too. So yeah. We’re pretty much a wreck. I didn’t want to sit this Makeup Wars out so I thought I’d feature 4 beautiful variations of emerald polishes from 2012. Emerald is Pantone’s Color of the Year. Readdddyyyyy?

Green2

This pine green is on the ‘dustier’s side of being a sparkly emerald but he was still too gorgeous to leave out. It’s the kind of green that actually LOOKS green (and not black) when you’re rockin’ it on the nails.

Green5

Live & Let Die from OPI’s Skyfall collection is an absolute winner to me. Look at how stunning that kid is! Just when you think green polishes have been done a thousand ways already, we get this beautifully rich green with with a dose of shimmer.

Green3

From Zoya’s Ornate collection (which was one epic collection, by the way) we’ve got Logan and this is by the far the greatest example of emerald. Logan is sparkly, shimmery and just…amazeballs.

Green6

Under Mistletoe is a gorgeous green from the Julie G.’s holiday collection. It isn’t as pigmented as the others but it is stunning.

As much as I love green eyeshadow, I’d much rather wear it on my nails. It’s hard to make green look complimentary without looking over the top. At least for me. But who knows – maybe I’ll get creative in the coming months.

Are you a lover of green nail polish? Check out my girls’ posts…

Zoya Lovely Spring 2013 collection

2013-02-021

This collection has been posted up in the beauty room for many moons now and I am just now getting around to posting swatches. My baaad. The crazy thing is – it still isn’t Spring just yet so if you’re lovin’ these, you can still purchase them. Weee! I’m not a big pastel lover, but these subtle shimmers and cremes are eye-catching and just darling.

DSC_6361

Jacqueline is a full-coverage, perfect magnolia nude cream and I know description words like “nude” can be a bit deceiving. Because nude to you but may be different than nude for me. Anywho, I like this shade. It reminds me of a delicious icing on top of a cake.

DSC_6372

Neely is a spring green in a glossy creme finish and it’s a light pistachio that compliments my hand beautifully.

DSC_6378

Julie is a soft wisteria purple metallic and while I only applied 2 coats, I probably should have done 3 coats to get more of an opaque finish.

DSC_6387

Piaf is a fresh forsythia yellow metallic and I’m not sure how I feel about this one. It’s a gorgeous and shimmer yellow that applies beautifully but it’s missing brightness that I like in yellow polishes.

DSC_6392

GeiGei is a blushing cherry blossom pink metallic is your standard pretty pink polish. It’s dainty and girly and fits beautifully in this collection.

DSC_6397

Blu is a soft and delicate pale baby blue with a glossy creme finish and I think this is my favorite of the bunch. There’s just something wonderful about a creamy baby blue nail polish. Plus, it’s the kind of shade that looks good on everyone.

The Beauty Basics

Price: $48 for the collection or $8 a bottle
Availability: Online at Zoya.com and select Ulta stores.
Limited Edition?: No
Favorites in collection: Neely and Blu

Whatcha think? Lovin’ any of these?

Zoya Ornate Holiday Winter Nail Polish Collection

OMG OMG OMG! That was the first thing I said when I laid eyes on this collection. And I feel a bit crazy reviewing this so early considering I’ve got Fall collections that I haven’t even debuted yet but I haven’t been this excited about a collection in a looooong time. This Zoya collection is hands down one of the best nail polish collections this year.

Piccies

See what I mean? Every single one of these polishes are dynamic.

DSC_1232

DSC_1238

Aurora is described as a plum with multi color crystal shimmer. Basically it’s the most epic plum holographic nail polish that I have EVER seen. Yes, holographic! I didn’t really see this one coming. Aurora not only looks captivating in the bottle but she looks beautiful on the nails, as well. Holographic nail polishes are my favorite and I’m so excited to see Zoya on board with this one.

DSC_1243

DSC_1249

Ziv is described as a gold foil glitter crystal. At first glance it looks like your typical gold nail polish but a closer look shows that Ziv has some subtle shimmer spark to it. Ziv applies smoothly but I’m loving how there’s a burst of a brighter golden oomph to it.

DSC_1255

DSC_1267

Electra is a holographic tinsel and I could seriously just stare at this bottle all day. If you’re a fan of bar glitter, you’ll love this polish. You either love love love or get annoyed by bar glitter. I stand right in the middle. I think they look pretty funny when worn alone but I dig ’em layered on other polishes.

Electra over Ziv

DSC_1291

Magical, right?

DSC_1278

DSC_1286

Logan is a green foil glitter crystal and it looks a lot like Ziv. Except green, obviously. I had to do some tweaking to show the depth of this polish. The gold specks in it is apparent in the polish but on the nails, it provides such a beautiful shimmery effect. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful green nail polishes I’ve come across. And I have a lot stunning green Zoya polishes!

DSC_1304

DSC_1307

DSC_1308

Blaze is described as a cranberry glitter glam crystal and it’s another stunning holographic. My camera couldn’t even capture the true essence of how bling-y this polish is. It’s doesn’t seem to have as much holographic shimmer as Aurora but it is just as beautiful. I don’t think I own any berry holographic polishes so Blaze is a welcome addition to the family.

DSC_1309

DSC_1322

And lastly, is the black holographic baby of the family, Storm. I’ve got about two black holographic polishes but dang, I think Storm is my favorite because although it’s black, you can still peep the holographic shimmer up close and far away.

DSC_1324

Aurora and Storm

DSC_1225

Must Haves:
Aurora – If you don’t get anything else, THIS is the one you haaaaave to get.
Electra– Especially if you’ve been wanting a bar glitter.
Logan – For green nail polish lovers.
Storm – Because it’s one epic black holographic.

I really don’t have any complaints about this collection. Each polish applied beautifully (as do all Zoya polishes) and I applied 2 coats for each polish. I love every single polish and I love how Zoya really surprised us with the holographic polishes. Seriously! Who expected that? Yep, I definitely feel comfortable declaring this as my favorite nail polish collection of the year. Way to go, Zoya!

You can scoop up these polishes for $8 a pop or $48 for the entire collection at Zoya.com.
