I was provided discounted tickets to visit Atlantis but my solo trip experience including meals, lodging and travel was on my own dime. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The first time I visited Atlantis in Paradise Island, Nassau, I was in my early 20’s. Our annual family vacation was aboard a cruise and when we docked in the Bahamas, everyone insisted we head to Paradise Island.
That was 10 years ago and now I’m back. Only this time, I rolled solo.
Note: These pictures were taken on my iPad. During that trip, my phone completely stopped working. That wasn’t the only CRAZY thing that went down on that solo trip.
You already know how I feel about solo traveling. Everyone should try it at least once. I was a bit apprehensive about trying out something as grand as Atlantis by myself but I ended up having a really good time. Sadly, the downfall to rollin’ solo is that you have no one to take pictures of you. And I don’t care how cool and hip they are, I’ve never been one to pull out a selfie stick. Not judging you if you do but no thanks, girl. That’s definitely not up my alley.
I had a blast anyway. Even though it rained the entire time I there. But that’s the beauty about Atlantis. It could rain and you would still have an incredible time.
What IS Atlantis, you ask?
- A water park
- A casino
- Lots and lots of shopping
- Incredible dining options
- A spa
- A theatre
- A nightclub
- A marine habitat
- Snorkeling, scuba and snuba
- Up close encounters with marine life
…and SO much more.
My experience on my solo adventure was simple…do whatever I felt like doing. I did some shopping and spent most of my time checking out the aquarium and taking stunning pictures.
I managed to capture a bit of the grounds and of course that beach.
For my solo adventurers, I’m confident you’ll find something to do. For families, you will DEFINITELY find something to do.
