It’s Healthy Hair Month, babes! This sponsored post is brought to you by Beautiful Textures and I am so excited to get the opportunity to try out some new hair products. Because, hair is life. I recently took out my glorious marley braids and my hair was in serious need of pampering. Thanks to salt water and chlorine, my color treated hair has in pretty pitiful shape, y’all. It’s embarrassingly, really. I’m also in need of a cut or shape up to keep my cut looking fresh, but that’s a blog post for another day. For now, let’s rap about these Beautiful Textures items that I was sent.
I’ve been rocking natural hair for over 10 years now and I don’t even want to tell you how much I’ve spent on products for my hair texture. The number is probably in the hundreds. That said, I was thrilled to see that Beautiful Textures provides products for men and women of various hair types, especially us curly, wavy, kinky, coily and frizzy folx. I’ve been having a love-hate relationship the past year and it’s mostly due to my laziness. I don’t care what kind of hair you have, hair needs love. I’m learning to show mine more love and it started with the Beautiful Textures Rapid Repair Deep Conditioner.
In order for conditioners to REALLY penetrate my curls, I have to leave the conditioner on for a good 30+ minutes. I did that with this bad boy and I was left in awe because my hair was so incredibly soft. This moisture-rich conditioner contains aloe vera and argan oil so I knew that combination was going to give me the moisture that I needed and…it did!
I can’t wait to try this conditioner again under a hair dryer as I’m pretty sure it will condition my hair even more. My hair was starting to feel the love, y’all and so in the past week I used both the Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme and the Curl Definer Mousse in separate ways. The mousse was my favorite.
While I don’t do many spiral sets, roller sets and straw sets, what I do DO are two strand twists. Using a liberal amount of this mousse on sopping wet hair allowed me to easily detangle my hair while setting it in 2-strand twists. I sat under a dryer for just 10 minutes or so, went to bed and woke up with…
Defined curls! I was impressed! It’s funny how just a few good products can really transform how you feel about your hair. And the Moisture Butter?
I think it’s best suited for gals with shorter hair or those who have a looser curl pattern. Know what it does do, though? Smooth those edges! Florida frizz, be gone because a just a bit of that butter on my edges kept the do slick and moisturized.
And it’s really that easy. Loving your hair, that is. I should know better. I really should! I vow to make more of an effort to take care of my hair, do regular conditioning treatments and use products that are suited for my hair type. I’ll definitely be adding these products to my regular line-up because hey, when a good thing works, you keep rolling with it, right?
Let me know if you’ve tried any Beautiful Textures products. I’d love to dive into more of their items. In the meantime, check them out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
