It’s rare when makeup brands come out with foundations that fit me.
Yes, girl. I know how pathetic it sounds.
I know that it’s 2017 and brands SHOULD be catering to all complexions but…they don’t. They just don’t. I’ll spare you my entire rant mainly because I’ve already blogged about this rant.
But don’t think I’ll stay silent on it. I’m making it my mission to really only support brands that support makeup wearers who look like me. I can’t MAKE them provide shades for those of us with darker skin but I can certainly support, brag about and only invest in brands that know how to do it right.
Becca is one of those brands.
But I mean, I’ve loved them forever. I’ve mostly been a lover all their highlighters and blushes but wasn’t aware of their wide’ish range until recently. And then I fell in love.
Becca’s Ultimate Coverage Foundation gives us 20 shades which is a whole ‘lot more than many of the higher end brands. I would love to see them go darker but I won’t complain too much because this is a great start.
Retailing for $44, this ain’t exactly your budget foundation and that’s cool, girl. These are for my makeup lovers that have an extra penny. And you know how I feel about skincare products and foundation…I have no problem investing a bit more in them. It’s worth it, right?
You know it’s worth it.
Becca says this is full coverage but guess what? It totally doesn’t feel that way. Not even a little bit. I’m actually not a fan of full coverage foundations because they always feel (and look) so heavy on my skin. This foundation is not that. When they say breathable, they MEAN breathable. Maybe it has something to do with the large percentage of water in this bad boy?
Maybe. Probably.
That said, if you’ve got dry skin, you will LOVE how hydrating this foundation is. I think I could get away with comfortably wearing it during the summer but it reigns supreme when there is a little chill in the air.
Buuuut…
While I’m so happy to see shades for my complexion and darker, it appears that some of the darker shades run a little red. I would love to see cooler tones for darker skin. But that’s only if I’m being picky.
My girl Jenn over at My Beauty Bunny and I collaborated again to swatch all 20 swatches. She has the first 10 and I have the last 10. Remember when we did this with NYX’s Total Control Drop Foundation?
Longwear yet comfortable, full coverage yet breathable and expensive yet absolutely worth the cost, I think I have a new favorite cream foundation.

I need a new foundation. I am not a makeup wearer but I believe every woman needs a good foundation in her arsenal. I’m going to check this line out, I was going to go with Fenty. How do the two compare, if you’ve tried Fenty.
I haven’t tried Fenty yet. I can’t get my hands on this shade! Buuuuuut, if you’re near a Sephora, ask for samples for both foundations. You can get at least a few days worth of samples for each and see which one you like most.
