I was selected by Disney to attend these events and experiences. This was an all-expense paid opportunity and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
One of the best things about being a blogger is having the words to describe experiences.
And one of the most challenging things as a blogger is trying to find the words to describe experiences.
The Black Panther World Premiere was iconic.
I knew it would be. I was prepared to be blown away by the red purple carpet but everything that I expected was nothing like the experience.
It was far grander.
I got one bit of advice before I hit the purple carpet.
“Do not worry about taking pictures. Soak in the moment. Enjoy the moment. This is your night.”
And so I did.
We made it to the carpet doped up on anticipation and wrapped in surreal nirvana. Everyone was buzzing. In our group of 25, I was 1 of 5 newbies but after getting advice from veterans, I was confident that I’d rock it. I did.
Things got hazy after getting our badges and going through security. I linked up with my Photo Buddy and we made our way with bright lights blinding us along the way.
After getting credentials, I was tossed around in a sea of people. I saw Angela. I saw Lupita. I saw Danai. They were all there. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.
I mean, you have to play it cool, right? I’m not the type to roll up and ask for pictures from celebrities. I’d rather take pictures and admire from afar.
Purple carpet. White lights. Brown skin. Flash! Flash!
I was overwhelmed and excited. Shocked and humbled.
For security purposes, our phones were not allowed in the Dolby Theater. And um, kind of a big deal but the Dolby Theater is also home to the Academy Awards. WOW.
Just a peek of some of the fabulous faces that hit the carpet that night…

I am still coming down from the high and I hope these pictures were able to do that experience justice. Stay tuned for when I do a post highlighting my review of Black Panther!
